@Mrsredlipstick I'm on it and have done really well! Though I admit it has made me unwell however I was unwell before starting it with really bad mental health. I'm 3lb away from a 8 stone loss and 17lbs until goal weight. Remember you may be ok on it. I just seem to be sensitive to the medication.

alltablenochairs · 30/10/2024 12:24

Officially a month into MJ. Went up from 2.5 to 5 a week early as I have gone away with my youngest for a few days. The most noticeable thing for me has been just how much I don't eat- we shared a portion of fish and chips earlier and my 11 year old ate more than I did.

I'm 6.7kg less than my starting weight and I have another 13.3kg to go before I hit my first goal. I'm still under absolutely no illusions whatsoever that this isn't a short term fix. I still don't have an end goal in mind.

Had my first NSV this week. I adjusted my wheelchair to bring the armrests in closer. I like my chair to be a close fit and because I had lost weight the seat was just a bit too roomy for comfort.

@alwaysscared I increased my MJ from 2.5 to 5 last week. The only side effect I got was feeling a bit queasy for approx 24ish hours. It wasn't horrendous, neither was it unmanageable. Sipping water with ice in it soon dealt with it.

I decided to stay on 5mg for a 2nd month and have plateaued all month.

I will use clicks to go up to 7.5mg from my next shot (I have another 5mg pen here) - I was hoping to stay on 5mg for a while but its not to be.

Hi, I've been taking mounjaro for three months and haven't lost a single pound so far :( I started 10mg yesterday, hopefully this will kick-start some weight loss but I'm starting to lose hope. I've been swimming three times a week too

I'm in the same situation, I am still in 5mg tho. I guess I need to do the move more part 😂 as I can't eat less.

LoquaciousPineapple · 30/10/2024 13:52

Thanks @VelociraptorsVelociRapping and @NewbieMJ - I hadn't considered my gallbladder could be the issue. I do still have it and haven't had any other symptoms like pain, just this dodgy tummy. I'll give your tips a try and keep an eye on it to see if I need to see a doctor.

Arglefraster · 30/10/2024 14:16

That's a fabulous NSV! @alltablenochairs

Mrsredlipstick · 30/10/2024 15:10

@SakuraTrees wow on your loss. Well done to you.
Thank you.

I've been thinking about increasing my protein but not really fancying meat etc, so Im had one of those Huel black drinks today. So full, they are so rich and thick. Not sure I will be able to eat anything much else today though. 34g protein in them.

Doggymummar · 30/10/2024 17:59

I'm having mashed potatoes with loads of creme fraush and poached eggs tonight not worked out the macros yet but it should be quite high

SqueakyDinosaur · 30/10/2024 18:00

I always mean to try Huel, but when the name already sounds like you're puking, it's not a great start. Did it actually taste OK?

Yes it tasted Ok. Chocolate flavour. It was afterwards I just felt really full and a bit nauseous. I know what you mean about the name though.

Can i ask is anyone on Wegovy on this thread? I can't have mounjaro as it contraindicates but I've been prescribed Wegovy and hope to receive this Friday. I'm blinking scared as I hate being sick.

I’m on week 6 of wegovy and will be going up from 0.25mg to 0.5mg later this week. I’ve not had any adverse issues except itchy skin for the first day after the the first 2 week’s injections. I’ve had to stay on the basic dose as had issues with a dose wasted so have had two prescriptions at 0.25mg. Until recently have had good suppression and no real desire (no food noise) to eat and now have lost 3.5kg overall. I feel I am still trying finding my feet and trying to cut down my carbs intake and find alternatives but at least it is coming down. For me it’s the mental aspect as well as giving me more energy than I have had in a long time. Ready to go up to the next dose now.

SW 104.8kg
CW 101.3kg
GW 70kg (fingers crossed) but for my height should be much less.

but realistically if I can get under 100kg I would be happy then reassess

Bibulous · 30/10/2024 21:25

I got some Arla high protein yogurts from Tesco. 20g of protein in each one and they're really rather nice. The texture is halfway between a yoghurt and a mousse.

OrlandointheWilderness · 30/10/2024 21:35

I'm on day 6 - what a bloody week! It's absolutely insane!!! This week I've left more food that I can get dreamt possible. I've had no macdonalds when everyone else had one. I've drunk not a single cider, I half fancied a baileys last night, took 1 sip and my stomach went very Eergh 😂. It's been so so odd not having the constant food noise tbh.

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 30/10/2024 21:38

@OrlandointheWilderness you will save a flippin’ fortune! I don’t know if it’s quite enough to cancel out the cost of the pen but it certainly makes a decent dent Grin

Yes they're definitely tolerable - I like the Lindahl ones too from tesco. So filling though, they're more like a meal than a pudding 🤯

Evenstar · 30/10/2024 21:40

@Bibulous I have been having those for breakfast with some blueberries in, I like the fact it’s there and you don’t have to think what to have

OrlandointheWilderness · 30/10/2024 22:15

@VelociraptorsVelociRapping I reckon actually it will save us money. We do spend a lot on takeaways and cider 😂

I like the Arla tubs, but can't eat them all sometimes as they are quark and I find them heavy. The pouches are yoghurt, lighter and easier to eat, lovely with a bit of Tesco Finest Super Nutty Granola on top.

Ds(20),eats the pouches too so we go through loads of them every week!

WeeklyJab · 30/10/2024 23:24

I’m away from home visiting family, and I’m finding having the right sorts of food more of a challenge in other people’s homes!

I’ve had a two egg omelette for brunch, just on its own, then beans on toast for dinner, but with everyone else having proper meals and cakes and snacks it feels weird to be so out of synch.

5 weeks in and 8kg lost. I keep repeating that to myself to try and stay motivated.

WeAllHaveWings · 31/10/2024 00:01

@WeeklyJab can you not have the same meals just smaller portions / stop when full?

SqueakyDinosaur · 31/10/2024 05:08

That's one of the things I like about MJ. I can eat with other people and just not finish stuff or have a starter portion. I was away last weekend and will be again this coming one, and I ate/will eat with others, just not as much as I have done before.

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 31/10/2024 06:43

Me too, I love that I'm not having to eat special diet food. I eat whatever's put in front of me while away, I just rarely finish it

I did try one of the pouches but I think I prefer the tubs. There's a bigger range of flavours and i like the way it feels more substantial. Your idea of mixing the pouch with yoghurt sounds great! I'll have to give that a go myself.

The Fage, greek yoghurt 'fruits' it a high protein favourite here
