No! You're absolutely fine and very welcome here.

Thankyou ,much appreciated.
Just been looking round Tesco at some of the clothes ,and Asda have some nice ones in .
I'm sick of having to buy from yours or simply be ,
I can't wait for the day I can slip a top in with the shopping.
I'm currently a size 28 and Tesco go to a 22 so I've a way to go .
Up to 5mils next injection,so hopefully more food noise gone then
It's great hearing how well you are all doing on here

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 28/10/2024 13:13

I'm the same @Nomorecookiesandcakes - one of the things that motivated me to get on and lose weight is wanting to shop in normal shops!! And also not to have to order everything online. Even the places that stock my size don't actually stock it in shops, it all has to be ordered

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 28/10/2024 13:32

@alwaysscared how lovely (if slightly annoying!). I’m down 60 odd pounds and my mother hasn't noticed yet 😂😂😂😂

alwaysscared · 28/10/2024 13:42

@IReallyNeedThisToWork oh my mum ALWAYS notices!! She is very slim and all us kids are much larger (thanks dad!!)
She isn't horrible about it though.
60 odd lbs!! That's amazing!
I'm hovering round 22lbs off and have been for a couple of weeks, very frustrating!

Yes ,I read about yours doing that ,they refuse to stock the higher sizes in their shop...I would of boycott it ,had I of had more choice elsewhere

Darlinghag · 28/10/2024 19:15

Well, day 1 of 7.5mg and the suppression is so high!! Literally choking down food today. I’ve had initial suppression on other doses but not quite like this, I’m hoping its not going to last all week!

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 28/10/2024 20:19

@Orangesandlemons77 was your post deleted because it had a code in it?? It wasn't a referral one so who reported it?!?

I wanted to update on my progress. I took Mt first dose on the 29 August. My aim is not to lose weight as fast as I can, but to be sustainable. So far I have lost 1st 3lbs (17lbs) and I'm really happy with that.

I have struggled with symptoms in a different way to ozempic - I did ozempic for a few months last year and 💩 myself a number of times 🤢

This time the symptoms have been different, and it's been the sulphur burps that have been awful along with fatigue and headaches.

I've managed to improve these symptoms by taking peppermint oil capsules and a digestive enzyme - particularly in the first 4 days after injecting.

I have also been having electrolytes and vitamins every day and I've started feeling much more...alive. I also haven't been drinking - but I basically have no desire to drink.

I didn't go straight up from 2.5 to 5, and instead counted clicks to taper up the dose over 4 weeks.

I'm going to stay on 5mg for the next 2 months (at least) which will take me until January. Then I'll make a call on whether I go up to 7.5mg.

WafflingDreamer · 29/10/2024 07:03

Jab 4 yesterday so 3rd weigh in

SW 21st 9.4lbs (BMI 43.5)
CW 20st 13.4lbs (BMI 42.1)
GW 12st 6lbs (BMI 25)

Lost 5lb this week!

Weekly losses = 3.8, 1.2, 5.0
So a total of 10lbs.

NearlyNewHip · 29/10/2024 07:31

Anyone else have trapped wind and bloating? I took my third jab on Friday and for two days each week since starting I have quite uncomfortable (not bad enough to stop me working but have to wear a floaty top on those days and elasticated waist) bloating, rock hard belly and trapped wind, pain in my lower back sometimes shooting up to my bra strap. I'm taking Rennie Deflatine, peppermint capsule and peppermint tea and haven't been able to identify a particular food the night before.

I had that on 2.5mg and the beginning week of 5mg - it was SO painful and nothing really helped; it was just a severe side effect for me but it eased on the higher dose and rarely get it now - although when I eat anything "bready", eg bread, crumpets, wraps i get the symptoms again, albeit at a much lower level...

NearlyNewHip · 29/10/2024 10:04

Looking at carby things and trying to reduce/cut out for a bit is my next step, I think x

RobinEllacotStrike · 29/10/2024 10:12

I've been right off carbs since starting MJ.
I don't get many side effects but any discomfort I have had has been after eating carbs.
So you might find less carbs = less side effects?

RobinEllacotStrike · 29/10/2024 10:13

White processed carbs I mean.

NearlyNewHip · 29/10/2024 10:20

My diet before MJ was absolute crap, all the wrong things, all the time. I'm trying to educate myself (previously on diets like Slimming World would just eat what the book said, choosing whatever I could get away with) bit by bit, introduce healthy options bit by bit (so I don't get completely overwhelmed and drive myself loopy), so that by the end, I've learned what I need to to maintain. Last week was adding fibre, this week is vegetables, next week will be cutting out (greatly reducing) carbs!!!!

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 29/10/2024 10:23

Ah @NearlyNewHip, I think adding fibre might be your culprit if you haven't previously had much in your diet. You're right to add more but your body isn't used to processing it, and coupled with the slower gastric emptying caused by the MJ this could well be the source of your trapped wind and bloating. Peppermint etc will help, as might warm baths or a warm hot water bottle and gentle clockwise massage of your abdomen. Hope it passes soon!

OP posts:
NearlyNewHip · 29/10/2024 10:26

I'll reduce it and add it more gradually!!!!

I find walking can help with e.g. trapped wind, or swimming, maybe gentle exercise gets the bowels moving a bit. It is a bit of a grey day out but going to try for a walk later.

SqueakyDinosaur · 29/10/2024 13:18

Also if it gets really bad Buscopan IBS tablets can help - they contain an anti-spasmodic (hyoscine).

I thought your post was really helpful and luckily screenshotted it before it got deleted 😅

Orangesandlemons77 · 29/10/2024 14:01

Thanks gimmemounjaro yes I was happy because I got a bundle of 3 pens at a good reduction so will keep me going into next year- they are also long expiry dates as I checked that first.

So that's me on 5mg for a while yet. I guess that is the only issue with ordering more than 1, you need to stay at that dose then for a while, so might not be so good if thinking you might change.

I'm hoping to stay at 5 now as it does seem like the dose for me, little side effects but doing the job.
