I'm planning for Xmas delivery aagh!!!
Does anyone know if other companies than oushk allow select date or know where I can find oushk code?

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 26/10/2024 16:00

@Rm2018 sorry, no idea about other companies offering the option to select delivery but current Oushk codes are on this spreadsheet

Feeling really down today. My weight loss has stalled, had my second 3.5mg dose yesterday and I have no suppression at all today. Could just eat and eat.
I've downloaded my fitness pal and realised I am eating a lot more calories in a day than I thought, and I don't know what to do about it, I feel like I'm hardly eating anything.
I've got so far to go and I just feel like giving up.
I feel low level nausea all day every day, sometimes it becomes bad nausea. I'm constipated and on laxatives from the doctor, but still not very regular.
I've lost 23lbs in 7 weeks, which is obviously good but I feel like it's just stopped working for me.
I'm so miserable, I have really bad mental health issues and some physical health problems. I don't leave the house (agoraphobic), and my 11 year old is also agoraphobic and I am his full time carer. It's such a lonely life, I'm just at home all day every day with my son (he's not been in school for 3.5 years) while my husband is out at work. Sorry, I'm just jabbering on now, I just feel so down.

SilenceInside · 26/10/2024 16:54

@alwaysscared I'm sorry you're feeling down, it's clear from your post that it's all getting to you a bit today.

For the nausea, I've seen people on here suggest travel sickness tablets like Kwells or the unbranded equivalent. Might be worth a try.

When you say your weight is stalled, do you mean on daily weighing or over the last 2 plus weeks?

What sort of foods are you eating?

alwaysscared · 26/10/2024 17:12

@SilenceInside
The last couple of weeks I have only lost 1.5lbs, seeing people have much bigger loses is so hard.
I have anti nausea medication from the doctor, I'm emetophobic so this was a must for me before starting.
I'll tell you exactly what I'm eating because I have the same every day (OCD, find it easier etc)
Breakfast - apple
Lunch - 100g oats, no sugar alpro yog, 6 grapes, 6 blueberries, 6 raspberries with cinnamon and chopped hazelnuts
Tea - 2 slices of whole meal toast with half an avocado and a boiled egg split between them
Snack - frozen grapes, blueberries and raspberries, carrot sticks, cucumber sticks and celery. Will also have another apple later on.
All that adds up to around 1300 kcal. I thought it was much less than that.
Then I can't help myself and I eat anything up to 15 jelly babies ( this is where the problem lies I think), but it's just 15 bloody jelly babies, argh!! I hate being the way I am. I have a binge eating disorder so my brain still wants me to binge. I used to binge mostly when I was feeling poorly, to prove that I wasn't poorly (doesn't make sense, but does in my head!!) so this low level nausea is causing me to want to eat more.

SilenceInside · 26/10/2024 17:31

Losing weight each week is great, and not a stall even if it's 1.5lbs which is bang in the middle of the sustainable weight loss range. If you continue with that weight loss then in another 9 or so weeks you will have lost another stone, assuming your weight loss rate doesn't change. That's so much better than stopping and staying the same weight or even increasing across the 9 weeks instead.

Are you getting any support for your OCD, agoraphobia, binge-eating disorder at the moment? I won't comment on what you're eating as I can see that it's hard for you to make any changes. The only thing I might suggest is to see if you can swap to sugar-free jelly sweets, they are about a third less of the calories than the ordinary ones.

I don't know what your mobility is like, but are you able to add in any strength exercises and any extra walking during your day at home?

alwaysscared · 26/10/2024 17:36

@SilenceInside
I have a peloton and do 45mins 3 days a week, burning about 400 cal each workout. I think I maybe need to up that.
Please make suggestions on food, I am open to any advice!

alwaysscared · 26/10/2024 17:37

@SilenceInside and yes, I have a psychiatrist and have medication for my mental health problems. I've had them, in one way or another, since I was 5. I'm now 41 so they are pretty well ingrained in my brain

SilenceInside · 26/10/2024 17:49

You're doing great with the exercise, I'm not yet doing any formal exercising only trying to increase my walking and general moving around. I have had issues with my knees in the past and feel like I need to stick to walking until I'm a bit lighter yet.

I do want to start adding in some strength exercises into my day though, and maybe that's something that you could consider too?

Regarding food, I might consider reducing the amount of hazelnuts and adding in some low carb vegetables instead. So broccoli, cauliflower, green leafy things, courgette, green beans. Or swapping some of the fruit out for veg. So a snack could be steamed green beans and a bit of hummus, or even plain yogurt as a dressing.

alwaysscared · 26/10/2024 17:57

@SilenceInside yes, I think I need to add more vegetables
The hazelnuts, I only have a sprinkling of chopped hazelnuts but I guess I could just stop having those.
I think I need to have less oats too.
The fruit will be tricky as I need the sweet
I'll see if I can have an overhaul on my foods

gimmemounjaro · 26/10/2024 18:01

Are you vegetarian @alwaysscared? (If you don't mind my asking.) I know I'm sticking my oar in now so feel free to ignore, but your diet looks a bit carby and not enough protein to me, loads of fruit etc. People do seem to have great results on MJ when they reduce the sugar in their diet a bit and up the protein, and as PP says, more leafy veg would also be good, fills you up and adds fibre that will help the constipation. But obvs what you eat has to work for you and there are a million ways to do it.

SilenceInside · 26/10/2024 18:04

Would it work to have a choice of meal plans, so you could say have 3 different daily plans and do each one for a week. So it's predictable what you're having, but it's more varied.

alwaysscared · 26/10/2024 18:49

@gimmemounjaro not veggie, but I don't really eat any meat!!
Maybe I should cut down the fruit, it's just so delicious, and because my blood sugars are really good (type 2 diabetic) I've been thinking it's ok to have lots of fruit, but maybe not.
I think I'll sit down and try to put some other plans together, but I do find it really hard.
Is it the oats and the toast that's making it too carby?

SilenceInside · 26/10/2024 18:53

What about strawberries and blackberries as a swap for the grapes and blueberries for one of the fruit portions?

gimmemounjaro · 26/10/2024 18:56

@alwaysscared
Yes I think it's the combination of oats, toast and quite a lot of fruit, there's a lot of carbs / sugar there and not much protein / veg to balance it out. Nothing wrong with any of those things but just looks a bit unbalanced to me. But I am not at all a dietician and it has to work for you obvs. I get where you're coming from eating the same every day, I have to really try to vary what I'm eating, but it does make it harder to get the variety of nutrients that you need I think.

izzyb6488 · 26/10/2024 19:01

Yes please! I would love to be part of this! I am on week 6 of Wegovy at the lowest dose of 0.25 hoping to go up to .50 next week - bit of a story I “lost” a dose as I injected my first dose with the second cap still on the needle (duh!!) so my provider gave me the next prescription early but a repeat of 0.25. Anyway I have lost 8lbs but have plateaued the last two weeks despite having a calorie deficit (about 1200 cals daily) and eating sensibly. My hunger and noise have abated but think I really need to go up to the next dose as the noise is returning! Not too sure why my weight loss isn’t happening yet as others have mentioned but persevering as do need to lose the weight and have over five stone to lose to be closer to a normal BMI.

Darlinghag · 26/10/2024 19:07

Hey @alwaysscared . Sorry to hear things are feeling rubbish at the moment. I can’t say I can give advice or understand your home life but I can relate to your feelings around weight and weightloss.

Some tips from me:

  1. Nutracheck is a really good app for logging calories - and even if you’re off track and eating the opposite of how you want, I think its really good to track accurately. I used to ditch tracking when I had a bad time, or bad meal and it was just another way of secret eating - trying to hide it even from myself. I only got my head round things whem I started tracking those 4000+ calorie days - and I had plenty of them.
  2. Similarly, a food scale is a godsend, weigh everything, so you fully understand calories in those sneaky high calorie things like olive oil and pasta (and if you haven’t got a spray bottle for oil, you’re missing a trick! I’ve gone from a little 100 calorie ‘glug’ to a 25 calorie few sprays!)
  3. Make it as easy as possible to do the best thing for yourself. For me, that means I often buy prepped items, even though its a little pricier. For me, this is prepped vegetables, mashed potato, frozen veg steam bags, sometimes precooked or marinated chicken. I also portion and prep stuff out in advance, like fruit, hard boiled eggs or snacks. If I am hangry, I need to grab food quick, or I get off track.
  4. I don’t give up sweet things or crisps. In fact, I have eaten them both today.
  5. I plan my next day eating before I go to sleep. I find it easier to make those decisions when I don’t need to ‘use’ them immediately. I also do not insist on variety just ‘because’. I’ve eaten the same evening meal three times this week, no stress.
  6. Understand your deficit. A 500 deficit is manageable and sustainable and gets 1lb a week. It feels slow, and I also get frustrated by it sometime but everyone I have ever known (MJ or not!!) who has gone into a stupidly low deficit, lost a ton and then gained it all back. Myself included!!

Someone once told me you should never rely on motivation to get you through a hard thing - because its not always there. Instead rely on making it as easy as possible to do, so that when motivation is on the floor, its still doable.

Take what you will - but keep coming here! This thread is great!!

alwaysscared · 26/10/2024 19:16

@Darlinghag thanks for the tips.
I have to say, I haven't had chocolate, cake, biscuits or crisps for 7 weeks. Unheard of for me, but I just don't want them. It's the jelly babies that are messing me up!

@alwaysscared have them!!! Count them in.

For me to have my snacks, I had to get cleverer with my meals. So I tend to skip pasta for potatoes, super low in calorie comparatively and I get to eat enough to feel full!

If you like noodles for asian foods, soba noodles are a great lower calorie option. Itsu also portion them out which is great.

Sounds like suppression isn’t there for you yet- but it will come!

I'm so glad to have stumbled across this thread. I've been following some others but I have such a lot to lose that they can feel a bit demoralising. I haven't set myself a target but I started a couple of months ago with BMI of 46.7 and about 10 stone to lose to get to a healthy weight. It's great not to feel alone with such a lot to lose.

So far I've managed to lose a stone across two MJ pens. I've taken my last jab from the 5mg one and contemplating a move up to 7.5 but haven't decided what to do. I feel like I don't want to move up too quickly if I don't need to, but also that I don't want to waste my money on another month at 5mg if it's going to be less effective. So far both months I've lost weight in the first half and stayed the same for the second half. Just don't know what to do 😕

On cottage cheese, I second the recommendation for longley farm. I make a special trip to Sainsburys to buy it despite doing my main shopping elsewhere. I like it with plenty of black pepper and a chopped salad, this was my lunch one day this week:

@alwaysscared I'm so sorry that things are tough at the moment. You’ve had some great advice already.

What would happen if you simply didn’t have any jelly babies or other sweets in the house?

I'm feeling a bit similar about the 5/7.5 situation, and have ordered a 7.5 but I'm going to take 5 from it to start with and see how things go.

I have my own accountability thread, but with 100lb to lose its a long journey. I have almost got half way, 52lb off so will join you guys for motivation

I was the same with mine - I decide to do 6.25mg for a week and I will be doing 7.5mg for the next jab. I had two weeks on 5mg where I found days 5-7 insanely difficult, not even suppression wise, but with regards to food noise, so tried 6.25mg first but don’t think it is quite enough.
