@Orangesandlemons77 I am also really enjoying passionfruit!

oulala · 25/10/2024 12:05

@UserNameOfShame that is a wonderful NSV, I am looking forward to that moment.

@NewoIkkin congratulations on your milestones, this must give you a real boost.

@RMNofTikTok neatly three stones off in four months is brilliant, go and find something that weighs this and carry it around for a bit.

OrlandointheWilderness · 25/10/2024 12:56

Hiya, I'd like to join! I'm 40, 5'8 and 133.6kg. Started last night!!

EricTheGardener · 25/10/2024 13:34

Hi everyone, checking in as well. Took my final 2.5mg shot last night and weighed in this morning. Lost 2.4lbs last week, so have lost 10.4lbs in 3 x weeks. Was hoping to lose a stone on the 2.5mg pen - looks like that won't happen but still v pleased with the loss. SW: 16 st 2.4 lbs / CW: 15 st 6 lbs

I ordered the 5mg pen but will not be going up to that dose straight away - I've had no side effects so far and don't want to start now. Will prob start on 3 or 3.5 then move up over the month if it agrees with me.

Still struggling to drink enough water - those drinking more than 3l per day: how are you not permanently on the loo?!

One thing I have noticed - I am so so impatient for time to go past now. Normally I complain about how fast time goes - "can't believe it's already October!" etc. But now I just want it to be next June or something already. Just really really want to know if this is going to work for me. But really shouldn't be wishing my life away!

Snozzlemaid · 25/10/2024 13:44

I've reached a 4 stone loss today, since starting at the very end of May.
I still can't believe this is real sometimes.
SW 18st 6lbs
CW 14st 6lbs

About half way now to a healthy weight.

gimmemounjaro · 25/10/2024 13:48

Wow @SilenceInside have you lost 4 stone 9 in 16 weeks? Amazing 🤩

I am on week 15 and have lost less than half that 😂

(I did start a bit lower but that's still a fabulous loss 👏 )

SilenceInside · 25/10/2024 14:01

@gimmemounjaro thanks, it's not anything that I am trying deliberately to achieve it just seems to be what happens for me at the moment. I am fully expecting it to slow down. I had strong suppression from the first day of the first injection and lost a big chunk (9lbs) in the first week. I seem to lose 3 or 4 pounds most weeks but then every few weeks I seem to lose 5/6/7 pounds even though I'm not doing anything much different.

I think I am a lot more active throughout the day, just moving around at home, than I was when I was at my heaviest. I would just want to stay sat down, and even get my kids or partner to get up and fetch things for me rather than move. Now I practically dance around, literally run to get things, run around tidying or cleaning, park further away from places so that I can walk for longer etc etc.

That's good to hear about the energy levels, I worry a bit about tiredness

gimmemounjaro · 25/10/2024 17:00

That's great @SilenceInside

I think you make a good point about keeping on the move. I am doing couch to 5K at the moment. I've done it before and found it a real chore and hard, but this time I'm raring to go and desperate to do the next run, it's like I've been taken over by aliens or something.

Sorry for a random question, when you sign up do you have to sign up as a monthly commitment (like a mobile phone deal)?

RobinEllacotStrike · 25/10/2024 17:04

I took am more energetic - instead of nights on the sofa I am more likley to be pottering around, doing things, being creative, reading, even cleaning! <faints>.

Getting up out of a seat doesn't usually involve an "oooof" now.

And I FEEL like moving more.

Its great!

no its not a subscription.
We have to go back to our supplier and order a new monthly supply every month.

gimmemounjaro · 25/10/2024 17:12

A PP mentioned getting in and out of the bath - I had forgotten what a faff that's been lately, going to try tonight and see if a 2 stone loss and a bit of strength training has made any difference.

My question for the thread is - cottage cheese fans, what do you have it with? I haven't had cottage cheese for literally years but I do like it - bought some today in my quest for protein and now don't know what to do with it 🤦‍♀️

smarty4 · 25/10/2024 17:13

@RobinEllacotStrike thank you. That's really helpful to know.

SilenceInside · 25/10/2024 17:13

@smarty I think there a are a few suppliers who do a subscription model, if that's what you want. But it sounds like you don't! Most suppliers you just order when you are ready for the next injection pen.

Voy are the main one I can think of that's a subscription.

Some of the providers like Voy do have a subscription (or Juniper I think) but most pharmacies don't, see www.monj.co.uk for details. I have a discount code for Voy if you want one.

I have it on oatcakes. Sometimes with a side of mini tomatoes or cucumber, for lunch

I like these ones as they come in little packs of about 5, so they don't go soft. Only £1 as well..

Day 1 for me, starting weight of 86kg (13.9) target is 8,7 so just over 5 stone to lose.

I am on mounjaro and had my first injection this morning. I am type 2 diabetic and have high cholesterol. I lost 5 stone in 2022 only to regain it this year so need to get myself in check and make a permanent change to my health, I turn 60 next year in March and want to see it as a new beginning rather than entering a phase of health conditions due to my weight and age :)

Anyway I would love to join you all on this journey and am going to read back to see other peoples experience, I will probably update every Friday with how the week has been and the weight loss.

I paid for my injections as my doctor said I would need to use tablets first but having read about the success of the injections, I felt these would be more suitable so have contacted an online pharmacy and (with my doctors consent) paid for a prescription.

smarty4 · 25/10/2024 17:41

Thank you @Orangesandlemons77 and @SilenceInside, I think that's where I was getting confused as I was just looking at voy and I don't want a subscription. (In the process of sorting mortgage etc so didn't want any new credit to flag up or issues over standing orders / direct debits with affordability check)

LoquaciousPineapple · 25/10/2024 18:19

Hadn't realised the last thread had filled up, was wondering why no one was posting 😂

Still plodding along slowly but surely, losing 1-2lbs a week. Now at 58lbs loss in total since mid-May, very pleased!
