Iv just ordered Mounjaro and waiting for it to be delivered.

Iv been trying to look at old threads throughout the months to see how people are getting on and looking for before and after pictures.

I wondered if anyone would be happy to share their weight loss and length of time it took them to achieve that amount.

Start weight:
End weight:
length of time:

Before and after pics a bonus!

and yes, I know we all lose at different rates etc but it’s always good other peoples successes!

Dh has started it on Tuesday. Since then he’s lost 7lb. His BMI was 41. It’s totally killed his appetite though so I’m keeping an eye on him to make sure he he’s eating a little bit and drinking water.

Has anyone had a negative experience with mounjaro? I took my first dose on Saturday morning. I checked my weight then and I was 18.5 stone when I started. The effects have been great so far, I'm eating breakfast, lunch and dinner, smaller portions than usual. No urge to snack at all in between meals, I'd say I've eaten 40% less than usual for me since Saturday. Jumped on the scales this morning just to check and I've put on 2lbs. I'm going to persevere with it and trust the process for long term goals but I have to I feel really disheartened today. Has this happened anyone else?

I've been on Mj since May and have lost 34lbs, so I suppose a slow loser compared to some. I've noticed that my weight can go up and down by 2lb or so on an almost daily basis but it still comes off in the end.

Well, I was doing well, other than feeling a bit sick to start after injection 1. I was ok. I've done my 3rd injection of 2.5mg on Tuesday just gone, but I have felt so ill since yesterday. I've had diarrhoea for the last 12 hours. I've decided I'm stopping, which is a shame as I've lost about 11lb in 3 weeks already.

OhTediosity · 12/10/2024 09:54

@Alwaystired23 before you give up can you identify if you ate something rich or fatty which might have triggered the diarrhoea? It is a very common side-effect.

Well, I went out for lunch with my friend the day before. I had a couple of pieces of battered fish, hollumi fries, which I suppose were greasy, and I hadn't really had anything like that for some time. I felt sick yesterday morning, and one side effect I have had is a dry mouth. I felt like I needed to eat something to settle my stomach, so I tried a crumpet, but I didn't have any saliva to chew it, so I had 2 weetabix instead. I'm wondering if the fibre in that was a problem? I've got my sons birthday party later, so I'm hoping it stops 😬

Very unlikely that the fibre in the weetabix was the culprit. It was almost certainly the fried fish and halloumi. Obviously up to you if you decide not to continue but at least you have a sense of the trigger.

I will say that in my experience MJ tummy is nothing like a tummy bug. Eating something to settle your stomach is the worst thing to do; I have found that only fasting and drinking water until the symptoms pass does the trick. Hope you feel better soon.

itwasnevermine · 12/10/2024 10:14

@Alwaystired23 it'll be the fatty foods. Some people report being ill after eating them.

Alwaystired23 · 12/10/2024 10:22

@Ohtediosity and @itwasnevermine

Thank you both. I'll have another think, and I'll certainly be avoiding the fried food..

Oh I wish I was a fast loser!

Was 13st 5
Now 11st 5

5'6"

But it's taken me 6 months!!!!!!

It's taken me 5 months to loose 13kg so pretty much the same. I did the low carb bootcamp in May.

I started HRT at the same time as I started Mounjaro so that might not help. I've lost 7kg since the 18/8.

But I'm doing a lot of swimming, still low carbing and doing weights.
The only sin is I'm still drinking.

The major change for me is that it's all easier than it was before. Particularly the sport. I'm regularly hitting PBs in the pool. But I'm really having to think about protein.

Anything battered is an absolute no no IME. I have no side effects at all apart from oily food. And either I can eat 3 mouthfuls and I'm done or if I continue I get a total clear out.

Noshowlomo · 12/10/2024 16:11

Love this thread. Really think I’ll be getting MJ very soon. Seems like a wonder drug with not many bad side effects. I have 7 stone to lose but if I lost 3 I’d be over the moon !!! Haven’t felt like myself in years. Also good to read for some that it helped with anxiety symptoms as well. I want to be able to go running without my knees wanting to shatter !!

InfoSecInTheCity · 12/10/2024 16:30

Just did my 6th jab on Thursday so 2 weeks into 5mg dosage.

SW - 218 lb
CW - 199 lb
Go - 164 lb

I'm one of the lucky ones prescribed it by the NHS due to diabetes and high BP.

Its magic from a diabetes perspective, gone from 2 jabs of insulin and 4 x metformin tablets daily to just the 1 x MJ weekly injection and my blood sugar levels have gone from being in the normal range 48% of the time to 95%.

surreygirl1987 · 14/10/2024 21:19

Thanks to those who have posted their success stories on this thread. I'm only on day 2... you have given me hope and motivation!

Thank you for sharing your diabetes success story! I'm not currently diabetic, but had gestational diabetes that required metformin so I'm more likely to develop it in future. It's so reassuring to hear that Mounjaro is so effective if I do develop diabetes in future.

LoquaciousPineapple · 12/10/2024 08:42

I'm not willing to share the exact numbers but Ive been using MJ for 23 weeks now and I've just hit the 4 stone (56lbs) loss mark today. My BMI is down about 10 points, although still very high.

For context: I was super heavy to begin with. My initial goal is to get to BMI 35 which would be around an 8 stone loss. Then maybe down to 30 (a 10 stone loss) after that.

That's phenomenal! Well done.

Quitelikeit · 16/10/2024 14:39

Can anyone recommend where to buy it from please?

preferably somewhere that has a reliable supply

I can’t believe people are complaining at losing 2st in 6 months that is brilliant!

Quitelikeit · 16/10/2024 14:39

by Xmas that means they will be 10st or less!

amazing surely

OhTediosity · 16/10/2024 15:38

@Quitelikeit the long-running ‘continuing Mounjaro’ threads in this board have a useful summary of suppliers and other frequently requested info in the opening post.

You are supposed to only post money off codes on the specific thread, not fill other threads with codes.

Started mid May at 17 stone 7 lbs. 5'2". Now 13stone 2lb. I was a 24/26 and now a solid 22 which is the on,y disappointing bit as I'd liked to have gone down another dress size.
