Interesting chat about dress sizes validating how we feel & a reflection of how much we have lost. I sew sometimes and when you see the actual measurements of old patterns dress sizes have gone up a lot in the last twenty years but also there really is only 1cm at times between the lines of what size fabric you cut out so you only have to sew it up slightly out for it to be a different size. But I’m equally guilty of feeling happy to have dropped 2 dress sizes but tbh I just like clothes that fit well because then I feel good. My current wardrobe is a mix of 14-20 and I too wfh mostly live in leggings fluffy socks and a smarter top for the camera.

Had my flu jab Monday left me with sore arm by the evening then I was really hungry craving carbs Tues ended up eating 2000c my highest total for a few months and gained 1lb overnight. Hopefully it’s just a one off as not hungry this morning just feeling blurr

I'm sure you know this but just remember that's definitely not 1lb of fat and I'm sure will disappear off the scales soon

@TheShellBeach go you!

@Splendud agree sizing is mental. I sew clothes occasionally and find sizing on patterns disconnected from shop sizes. Obviously I sew to measurements not size, but sewing a size 28 pattern when I wore - shop size 20 was sobering.

Annoyingly I am 80% of the way through a sewing project. It won't fit. It will be too big and I can't adjust it without taking the whole thing apart. I may need to use crap fabric and make a toile to find my size once I've stabilised!

Also, anyone else enjoy that sweet feeling of a (ahem) long visit to the loo the day before weighing. Pretty much going every 5 days now

Megarea · 10/10/2024 10:59

Third dose of 10mg today.
SW 252.6 lb
CW 215 lb
Total loss: 37.6 lb
Just 1 lb this week again but still happy with that.

Callmejudith · 10/10/2024 14:23

Went shopping at lunchtime and got into a medium jacket - very chuffed! Also bought some medium jeans without trying on - let's see how I go with them!

I am so beholden to clothes sizes it's actually ridiculous! I really need to sort this out in my head because I know for a fact that sometimes a "bigger size" looks a million times better

@Callmejudith MEDIUM?!? 😱Good luck with the jeans🤞
@Megarea congrats!!

Week 16 weigh in this morning. Where has the time gone?!? Still on 5mg despite having a tough week with genuine growly stomach hunger and a fair bit of food noise. Ok yesterday before jabbing last night though so who knows what the heck is going on! 🤷‍♀️

Anyway, despite all of that (and eating half my body weight in cashews this week), I have lost 4 bloody pounds!! Which means I have reached my mini target of bmi under 35!! 🎉

Fast 800 SW: 17 st 7lbs (20/5)
Loss: 9lbs
MJ SW: 16st 12lb (19/6)
CW: 13st 8lbs

Think I may set 12st 13lbs as my next mini target as it is out of the teens!! 😁

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 10/10/2024 15:08

17....16.....15......14..... hello 13's!

SW 17st 7.4
CW 13st 13.2

2lbs off this week.

mjdle · 10/10/2024 16:20

We love a klaxon!!!

hopefully your discovery of lower sizes wasn’t as embarrassing as mine, when I reached up to grab something off a shelf and my size large joggers DROPPED TO THE FLOOR - hope none of the dog walkers in the park out the back of my house saw anything 😂😂😂

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 10/10/2024 17:07

@Lynsey14 HILARIOUS! Up there with my trousers sliding down as I walked across a hotel dining room with my phone in my pocket! 😂
@Sewfrickinamazeballs yay! Welcome to the 13s club🎉🎉

fairydust11 · 10/10/2024 18:09

Wow well done @Sewfrickinamazeballs &@IReallyNeedThisToWork fantastic losses.

@Megarea I also lost 1lb this week, but my overall loss hasn’t been as high as you - I’ve lost 17lb over 10 weeks, it’s a slow loss for me, but I’m on thyroid & arthritis medication (both which made me gain weight) so i’m happy that at least I’m slowly but surely losing while still taking my medication!

Hurrah for médium!
I’ve been swimming in my previously v comfy Large Sweaty Betty leggings and decided to pick up a pair of medium on Vinted to see if they’re better. They arrived today and I opened the packet. Held them up and thought “bloody hell those are small! No way will they fit” Then “Sod it!” Tried them on. Turns out I’m a Medium now. 😮

TheShellBeach · 10/10/2024 21:16

Ha!

I've just been on a clothing site I rarely visit, and it suggested size 24 to me.

Boo! You're wrong. I'm a size 16 now.

Sucks to your size 24 suggestion!

😂😂😂

Megarea · 10/10/2024 22:10

Thanks @IReallyNeedThisToWork and @fairydust11 !

I think you're doing great @fairydust11 and I wouldn't call that slow at all. When I think about diets before I don't think I ever managed a consistent pound a week even!

AutumnStorms11 · 11/10/2024 06:42

Gosh I’ve really been struggling with the metallic mouth taste this week really noticeable plus went up 2lbs was craving carbs. I really hope it’s just been the interaction with the flu jab I had on Monday. I did google and see a few folk on MJ struggled with the taste thing or it’s a sign of being pregnant which I’m 100% not…must be a hormonal interaction somewhere. I’m reluctant to jab today but will probably do it later and hope the taste thing passes

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 11/10/2024 08:21

@AutumnStorms11 it's nasty isn't it? I have only recently realised that I think it's gone having had it since the very beginning. I suppose I just got used to it! Suspect it will come back with a vengeance when/if I finally move up from 5mg! 🤦‍♀️

pinkstinks · 11/10/2024 09:21

Hi all just checking in!
weight loss had slowed the last couple of weeks but given myself a head wobble and recording some NSV’s!

I walked up the big hill and wasn’t out of breath

my knee hasn’t hurt in weeks

I've had to buy new bras!

i haven’t binged since I started this

looking at the overall picture it’s been amazing. I have had 12 weeks on 2.5mg and lost 2st 8. Plus a stone I lost prior to starting so 3st 8 since February.

starting 5mg next week / wish me luck!

Callmejudith · 11/10/2024 09:37

@pinkstinks glad to see you've given your head a wobble - those NSV are absolutely brilliant.

I'm reporting in to say the medium jeans do up - I actually can't believe it they look really bloody small. The muffin top isn't great but that will be gone sooner rather than later.

I've also had a few comments from colleagues in other offices who I speak to on Teams who have noticed my face getting smaller.

It's my birthday this weekend so I'm getting dressed up - really looking forward to seeing which outfits I can get into!

OP posts:
TheShellBeach · 11/10/2024 10:34

Well, after a fortnight of stalling yet again, I've lost 3lb this week.

And my NSV was walking down to the village and back yesterday TWICE, briskly and without getting out of breath.

That's actually unbelievable. Usually when I walk to the village and back, I have to stop several times, especially coming back as it's uphill.

TheShellBeach · 11/10/2024 10:34

Are you going out to eat for your birthday @Callmejudith?
