Wow another one. Just goes to show how many people are still sticking with this. I've been on many losing weight threads that have died a death 😅

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 30/09/2024 12:32

Oooh, shiny new space! Thanks @Callmejudith

Splendud · 30/09/2024 12:34

I started in June but must have missed this. Can I join you? I've lost 32lbs which is slow and steady but also sustainable I feel

TheShellBeach · 30/09/2024 13:20

Checking in.

Someone who hasn't seen me for a while told me today "Wow, you've lost weight! Lots of weight!"

So finally somebody other than DH has noticed.

I mean, I've lost 5st since January, so you'd think other people would have noticed. But maybe because I was so overweight to start with, they think it would be rude to comment?

Anyway, I was really happy when she said it to me.

Had a Flake to celebrate and now feel sick.
😂

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 30/09/2024 13:35

Hi gang!

All the size 18s I bought fit (dare I say are slightly oversized too)

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 30/09/2024 14:06

@Sewfrickinamazeballs outstanding!!

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 30/09/2024 14:07

@Splendud hi! Lovely to have you here👋 32lbs down is fantastic! How are you finding it all?

TempusFuckit · 30/09/2024 14:24

Hello again! Just checking in to join the new thread, and also to share my latest NSV which is making me laugh - my glasses keep falling off when I do Downward Dog 😂

Anyway, now 2 stone 4lb down and going strong - that's almost a third of what I want to lose, I've just worked out.

Looking forward to getting into the mid-kitchen roll phase of the mission, where people start to notice a lot more, and the dress sizes start dropping more quickly.

Callmejudith · 30/09/2024 14:34

Welcome @Splendud great to have you here!

@TheShellBeach the flake comment made me laugh!

Just following up my musings on the last thread.

I have been rubbish the past few weeks but did 5mg last night and the appetite suppression today is real. Have managed an omelette and some water today. Wore my gym stuff to work but have been stuck on calls all bloody day. My routine is completely out of the window since DS12 started secondary. He needs a lot of help before and after school but I need to delegate to DH. I miss the gym so so much. I also need to get back to posting on the what I ate today thread as that keeps me honest.

Also difficult today as the guy at work has told loads of people he is on MJ and the comments I am hearing are difficult. "He's cheating", "He should just go to the gym and eat less" blah blah blah

TheShellBeach · 30/09/2024 14:44

@Callmejudith pay no attention to what people are saying about MJ.

They're uneducated. I am quite sure that GLP-1 medication will become commonplace as a treatment for obesity eventually.

The general public doesn't know any better.

AutumnStorms11 · 30/09/2024 14:59

Thanks for new thread great so many have stayed on this and seeing success. I saw an old friend recently and got my first “wow you really have lost a lot of weight…how long did that take?” I felt really bad as I didn’t tell her about MJ, I wanted to as she’s such a dear friend but she works in a health care role so I’m really not sure what she’ll think. Why is weight such an emotive issue for years I feel like I’ve been seen as the fat but fit one & this drug feels like the missing hormone to me but all the crap media coverage is twisting that narrative as there’s just too money in making UP foods & diet industry!

fairydust11 · 30/09/2024 15:28

Hi all, I started in June too, been on & off the previous threads as I’ve been on & off Mounjaro due to severe tiredness - I’ve done 8 full weeks since starting in June & lost 16lb.

Theres some great losses, well done all.

I’m currently on 5mg & now focused to hopefully get as close to target before Christmas🤞.

Yep I'm just too scared of reactions to tell anyone. I can't be dealing with it!

One way to look at it is that you're likely saving the NHS money in the long run. After all if less of us are obese and not suffering from conditions that can be exacerbated by excess weight then surely that's a good thing.
Plus why does me no longer struggling to control my appetite equate to cheating (don't worry I've had this conversation in my head). I'm not causing anyone any harm by using this drug, so it's their problem. Although of course I'm not telling everyone 🤦🏻‍♀️

Callmejudith · 30/09/2024 16:25

@Pashazade yes exactly! The emotions around weight are just all so complex. I've started reading Why we Eat too much it's very interesting so far.

Hi everyone! I started on 27th June, have lost 36lbs so far!
Also 5.5 inches off my waist and 4 off my hips. All my 'fat' clothes are now too big! Goal weight is 10lbs away. I have 6 more doses in my fridge, not sure if I'll buy another pen or just go it alone.... I could do with a few pounds less than target, as a 'buffer', but it's so expensive! (I've stayed on 5mg due to cost).
Lots of people have recently commented on my weight loss, it's very noticeable as I'm only 5 foot 3.
Good luck all!

Callmejudith · 30/09/2024 16:41

Brilliant @LionAndEmperor13 you must feel amazing

Ugh I hate that. It doesn't feel like cheating at all. I feel sick as anything. So much ignorance out there.

AutumnStorms11 · 30/09/2024 17:45

I listened to the audio book of why we eat too much - last year and it was interesting and reflected back again many of my thoughts around how much can we consciously control our weight & how much is genetically outside our control. After listening to I it I had six months plus of trying so so hard yet again to reduce my weight with fasting, healthy foods, lots exercise but just got no where as I was obviously insulin resistant yet I’ve lost 32lbs in 15weeks of MJ easily and stayed on 3mg as any more made me feel too ill. It was literally felt like a hormonal switch in my body was flicked saying you don’t need sugar. I’d done lot of the ground work before starting this drug with my diet but just couldn’t shift any lbs. If I go over 1100c I literally lose nothing menopause has a-lot go answer for & being short.

That’s a fantastic loss, I’m also 5’3, can I ask what your target weight is (if you don’t mind sharing)? As I’m currently aiming for the top end of the healthy bmi for our height, but thinking I might need to go a little lower.

I'm 5' 3" and aiming for 9st 4lb.
I'll be happy with 10st actually.

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 30/09/2024 18:27

I get the absolute rage when I hear the term 'cheating' with regards to weight loss. Does a pound lost through exercise weigh more than one lost with the help of MJ?

Jealousy or ignorance, or both

AutumnStorms11 · 30/09/2024 18:32

I’m another shortie 5ft2 aiming to get between 9.7-10st. I’m at 10.6.8lbs this morning which I’m so so happy to have just tipped under 10st7. It’s been 15yrs since I weighed this and that was only briefly whilst i was trying to get pregnant. My target will only just take me into healthy bmi

fairydust11 · 30/09/2024 19:06

Thanks @TheShellBeach , I’m aiming for around 9.4 too. Yes I’d be very happy with 10 aswell as I just scraped into the high 10s at my last weigh in (did a little happy jig on the scales) & it would feel that a real achievement to get to there!

Well done@AutumnStorms11 I can’t wait get to your current weight.

I definitely feel I’m seeing good progress now I’m on 5mg, I was apprehensive going higher, but now I’m so glad I moved up.
