Has everyone gone up the dosage quantities, has anyone stayed on 2.5 and kept losing weight?

I went up to 5 but found it was too much for me. I was actually feeling sick at the thought of food even with an empty stomach so I went back to 2.5 (which did have an impact on my hunger but very manageable) if 2.5 works for you then I don’t see the harm in sticking with that

AutumnStorms11 · 04/10/2024 13:35

Interesting I’m not alone sticking on a low dose as on the main thread there were some strong opinions about it only being a loading dose and we shouldn’t be using it if it’s that effective. I found it quite odd that they couldn’t “see” that it affects people differently we all have different body compositions, so we are being the responsible ones listening to our individual bodies needs. Just my opinion as I’ve obviously been a super responder and a low dose has been highly effective for me. It felt abit like the “cheating” if your using it conversation but I can’t help responding to a low dose any more than someone can needing a higher dose.

TheShellBeach · 04/10/2024 14:17

I'm up at 10mg and I'm going to stick to it, until I feel that it isn't working.

fairydust11 · 04/10/2024 14:51

I’m on 5mg at the moment and although my main side effect is tiredness I actually don’t feel anymore tired than I did on 2.5 (which was my main worry when moving up) it seems to be working better for me as I’m able to intermittent fast much easier now.

@Pashazade If a lower dose is working for you I don’t see any reason why you need to move up, on reddit there are some people that have got to target weight completely on 2.5mg.

Pashazade · 04/10/2024 17:13

@AutumnStorms11 that's a baffling response, sticking at the loading dose is cheating? People can be so weird. So you're more responsive to the effect. Your brain/body just needs a smaller nudge. Like you said we're all different. I'm only on week 2 but atm I am getting a steady loss, need to think about my next pen next week. Will perhaps wait until I'm 2.5 weeks in and then order the next one. I keep waiting for it to stop working. 🤦🏻‍♀️

daffodilandtulip · 04/10/2024 18:16

Ah just posted in the old thread and wondered where you all were...

Well ladies, I was thoroughly miserable because I haven't lost this week. However, I've finally given in after wearing the same top all week (I do wash) and have bought a winter's selection of lovely clothes.

Not only are they all in small ... but there is one item in EXTRA SMALL. No more XL here!

mjdle · 05/10/2024 10:11

Totally missed this new thread and thought everyone had gone quiet 😂 well done on all the losses - loving the tights and bra nsv's 😆 I was a little sad this week when my favour winter Scott was too big, had to have a word with myself 😂

Cheating - seriously! Idiots!

I haven't posted my weight loss in a while as it's really slowed and I've been a bit meh about it. Been on 7.5 for 2 pens, however I have just looked at my last weigh in post exactly 1 month ago and I've lost 6 lbs since then, and am 2 stone 4lbs down since starting 15 weeks ago. It's definitely harder and slower now but I'm chuffed to bits and thinking it might be possible to reach my 'goal' before Christmas 🤞

I'm really not liking 7.5, more side effects, more food noise and not feeling full. 5 was brilliant, so should I go back, stick with 7.5 or go up to 10 - opinions very welcome 🙂

Pashazade · 05/10/2024 13:23

@mjdle was 5 working? Did you move up because you thought you should or because you needed to? If it was working I'd be tempted to go back.

Yeah it was, slower but I expected a bit slower, and yes went up just because that's what I thought I should do x

TheShellBeach · 05/10/2024 14:10

Well, my new scales arrived, and they're the kind that tell you how bloody ancient your body is.
I kind of wish I hadn't downloaded the app, but I suppose I don't have to use it. 🤣🤣

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 05/10/2024 14:22

@Bitezbabe were over here 👋 Confrats on your 2 stone!!!🎉🎉

Time4changeagain · 05/10/2024 15:22

@TheShellBeach
I deleted the app from my scales! I’ve had them years and knew they had an app but never downloaded it. Started MJ & thought oooh I’d have a look & I can keep record of weight loss on there. The bloody thing lit up like a beacon on body fat measurement…I already knew I was fat, didn’t need the bright red light telling me too 🤣 Deleted the app & it just weighs and stays blue now lol.

Callmejudith · 05/10/2024 16:46

@IReallyNeedThisToWork sorry to hear you've been poorly and your Mum too

@Sewfrickinamazeballs bloody love that graph!

@Pashazade I stayed on 2.5mg for I think 12 weeks (have lost count tbh), then I went up to 5mg but split into two doses per week. This was the first week I did 5mg and it was fine and I'm going to do that for the next 6 weeks then see where I'm at. I always had good suppression on 2.5mg, was loosing and most importantly had minimal side effects.

@Splendud love that - nothing worse that too tight tights!

@daffodilandtulip YES for XS - that's so good. I have definitely consistently lost inches so don't actually weigh very often at all

DH loves a bit of LBC and listened to that phone in. He was all "oh have you heard of this super weight loss drug?" and I had to say "hmmmmm I think so, I've seen some stuff on mumsnet and a guy at work is on it, I reckon good for people who give it a go" and that was the end of that.

Sometimes I scare myself with how good a liar I am

daffodilandtulip · 05/10/2024 17:08

@Callmejudith ahh I wished I'd have measured at the start. I have saved the top I did my first photo/weigh in in though, and will keep it forever as a reminder!

Callmejudith · 05/10/2024 17:14

I have my photo I sent to voy which I hate - I should really take a comparison actually

fairydust11 · 05/10/2024 18:15

Congratulations on the loss @mjdle!
I’m currently on 5 and it seems to work well, if the 5 was working well for you too, maybe go back down as that dose could be right for you, especially if the 7.5 is making you feel ill yet not making you feel full.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 05/10/2024 21:41

@mjdle I was just reading posts on the main thread from a couple of people who are splitting the 7.5 over the week and doing 5 days on 5 then 2 on 2.5. Wonder if that could help?

Splendud · 05/10/2024 23:34

I weighed myself this morning after getting back from holiday yesterday and I have lost 2lbs while away on holiday. I can't remember a holiday where I haven't put on several pounds!!

Total is now 34lbs in 16 weeks. I have a very underactive thyroid so this feels like a massive achievement for me.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 06/10/2024 08:05

Morning @Splendud 😁 It IS a massive achievement! Well done you 👏👏

coffeeandteav · 06/10/2024 09:17

I wish I had measured at the start too. My oh suggested it but I said absolutely not. Kicking myself now.
I drank a lot of Friday night. Yesterday I had an awful stomach flr half an hour. I hope I haven't got gallstones!

Callmejudith · 06/10/2024 16:20

@coffeeandteav your first month was actually insane!!

OP posts:
mjdle · 06/10/2024 18:15

@coffeeandteav that's brilliant! What ml pen are you using?

Splendud · 07/10/2024 07:43

Another 2lbs down this morning so a total of 36lbs now in just under 17 weeks.

Does anyone use a food tracker? I noticed yesterday that MFP have now made the barcode scanner part of the premium service. I don't use it a huge amount (certainly not enough to pay £79 for it!!!) But it is useful.
