@IReallyNeedThisToWork your username always makes me smile and I've smiled even more today because it really is working 🥳

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 10/01/2025 18:27

@IReallyNeedThisToWork amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is so cool! Well done.

@JomonotFomo size 12s?!? Fabulous, and 28% is loads!

@Gazelda shit, that sounds really tough. You made huge progress though, and you know you can do it, just take a breather and don't put too much pressure on.

@Callmejudith great to hear how the 'other side' feels, giving me hope this can be sustainable with some effort.

@Newme24 congrats on your Xmas loss, that is quite an achievement!

@BemusedBrenda 58lbs is wonderful!

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 10/01/2025 18:33

I weighed yesterday and was amazed to see the scales showing an 11! I don't think I've ever seen this number for most of my adult life. I bumped into a neighbour the other day and she said I looked fabulous!! The loss is really showing now, I might share a before and after tomorrow if I'm brave. I can't believe sometimes who is looking back at me in the mirror. I'm now focussing on learning what clothes actually suit me and I like rather than just what fit and cover up, whilst trying not to spend a fortune!

Starting weight 17st 7 (wtf!)
Current weight 11 13.6
Loss this week 1.7lb
Total loss 77.8 or just over 5.5 stone Smile

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 10/01/2025 18:34

@Megarea we’ll done! It’s amazing how much more relaxed we are about gains these days! 😁
@Newme24 awww, thank you! It epitomises the level of desperation I felt when I name changed to start posting about MJ!! Tbh, I’m a little astonished by how well it has bloody worked!
@Sewfrickinamazeballs thank you!!
@JomonotFomo whoop whoop for the 12s!🎉🎉🎉
@Callmejudith so pleased to hear it’s going well and love the description of ‘feral’ eating! 😂
@Gazelda sorry to hear your crap news and I reckon that would throw anyone off the rails! (Def did me 29 odd years ago!)

AutumnStorms11 · 11/01/2025 08:00

Just catching up after I lost the thread. Brillant losses and maintains over the tricky December time. I’ve ticked over on 2.5mg and just maintained this month had a 1lb up and 1lb down all through, which I’m ok about as extra sweets have been sneaking back in. I’m sitting at bmi 24.9 I’d like to lose another 7lbs to give me a buffer but I’ve only got 1-2 doses left. Then one emergency pen left. I was intending to stop next month and see how I get on for a few months.

Did anyone watch the Glucose Goddess programme on C4 this week? Some interesting tip bits to help stabilise blood sugar but honestly I was watching the poor lady on there thinking she’d be better trying MJ surely to kick start her weight loss then using the “hacks” to lose& maintain.

daffodilandtulip · 11/01/2025 09:04

Week 30, back to work but restricted to the house due to snow ... Christmas weight is off and I'm back to 10st (total loss 3st 7lb). It's been nice to get back to normal but also to find it easy to do.

BMI is 27, still need to lose another 12lb to be "normal", but I'll be happy with another half a stone, as I think that's realistic to stay off. Will start my last 10mg next week and see where I am after that.

VioletsHeart · 11/01/2025 09:29

Morning! What fantastic achievements gang! Well done you all.

I last updated early Dec, I can’t remember whether here or on the main thread, wondering if I’d accidentally found my maintenance weight at around 9st 3 as I’d been staying there comfortably for a few weeks. It was a few pounds higher than the top of the goal range I initially set (8st 3 - 8st 12) but a healthy weight and happy in clothes.

Well, a half pound here and there over Christmas and NY (which was a bit of a surprise) and I’m under 9st. The last time I was 8st something was as a teenager.

I’m allowing myself January to see if 8st 12 appears on the scale and will then start to taper a little.

But it’s a very hard conversation to have with myself. To be pleased with what I’ve achieved. To not compare myself to naturally skinny friends with their narrow hips and zero loose skin. To not chase down the further 25ish lbs to take me to the weight my very slight mother is.

I’m me. I look bloody fantastic.

I’m a size 8/10 top 10/12 bottom at 5’ 1.5. Loosing weight has not changed my natural childbearing hips (and post popping out 2 DC like peas I wouldn’t wish to) but styling clothes is still not completely easy even at a smaller size.

We have a long planned big trip at Easter which was the catalyst for me starting Mounjaro last June. I will be jabbing until at least after then, and may continue for a few months more to attempt to settle in at this new lower weight. Then I would like to see what life is like off the drug, but it doesn’t have to be yet and I’m hopeful that using it for maintenance will become normal in the next months and years if needed.

Starting weight 12th June 12st 4.6
Current weight 11th Jan 8st 13.2
lbs lost 47.4
Percentage body weight lost 27.5%
lbs to goal 1.2

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 11/01/2025 14:04

@daffodilandtulip@VioletsHeart well done both of you!

I seem to be a size 14 today! Not sure when I skipped the 16s but I’ve had to buy a few bits for an upcoming holiday and had to take loads of stuff back to exchange for 14s! 😱

VioletsHeart · 11/01/2025 17:16

@IReallyNeedThisToWork high five for the size 16 skipping! What joy 🤩

coffeeandteav · 12/01/2025 08:17

Hello All

Not been on in a while. Had a three week break over Christmas. I ate and drank so much.

I went from 11.8 to 12.4. 10lbs on. I know it was Christmas but for me it is showing me I am going to need to ne so careful and I am worried now for coming off.

I had my first jab again but only worked a bit last week, so I am back to 12 stone. Started having a mini binge again on Friday so have upped dose again and today it is starting to work again.

I need to use this time to make good habits. I am wondering if my food obsession will ever truly go. Probably not. I need to be strong but really worried about maintenance now. Appreciate Christmas probably wasn't the best time to gauge it from.

coffeeandteav · 12/01/2025 08:19

*Be so careful

JomonotFomo · 12/01/2025 14:38

This weeks stats….

SW 15st 12
CW 11st 2.5

total loss 4st 9.5lb.

BMI of 26 and 6.5lb to go to get to BMI 25.

I have 2 full 5mg pens and I think 2 or 3 doses left in my current, so that will last me another 3months, by which time I will almost certainly be at target.

I really need to up my exercise, but the first few weeks of 2025 have been horrible.

i feel the same about maintaining @coffeeandteav ive not got this close to target for about 20yrs and I’ve never managed to maintain. Looking at my bmr I can see why, I’ve always see the diet as a temporary battle (and without mj it has been a battle) until I get to goal and then I can live again. But usually long before goal I fall off the wagon and start overeating again. Or I get close and myself and the people around me say oh treat yourself! But at this weight my bmr is like 1300 calories and the amount needed to maintain with a sedentary lifestyle is about 1600. So before I’d diet and then I’d come off back to eating as I did before.

Unless I up my exercise I’m going to have to stay really careful to maintain. Ideally I’d like to stay on MJ forever!

coffeeandteav · 12/01/2025 14:45

@JomonotFomo

I came take the side affects or the cost. I am going to have to definitely up the exercise.

Megarea · 12/01/2025 14:59

This morning I weighed in at 196.6lbs which means 4 stone lost woo-hoo!

Gazelda · 12/01/2025 17:51

That's fantastic @Megarea. Huge congrats. You just be so proud.

Do you have more energy than when you started? Motivation to be more active? Had the weight loss affected you in ways other than lb, inches and dress size?

Megarea · 12/01/2025 18:09

@Gazelda - thanks! Yes a friend really likes walking up our copious local hills and I'm finding that more enjoyable and easier now definitely.
I still sometimes get surprised at not really wanting sweet "treat" things - like I'll ocasionally pick a pastry up as I always used to get my treat of the week with the weekly shop but mostly I find myself looking at calorie count and just thinking, huh that's not worth that amount, I could have a lovely veg, meat and cheese stuffed omelette instead and putting them back. Which obviously isn't unusual when dieting, but it's just so easy to do now which it never would have been pre MJ.
I'm also fascinated by where we carry weight and never realise - like across the back of my shoulders or my head. I always thought I was broad shouldered but I'm actually not particularly, a lot of it was fat! And I need a new smaller riding hat now 😂

Annie1919 · 12/01/2025 23:15

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 09/01/2025 18:31

Week 29 weigh in today and I’m down 4lbs!

Fast 800 SW: 17 st 7lbs
MJ SW: 16st 12lbs
CW: 11st 6lbs!!!!

Wow! fantastic loss @IReallyNeedThisToWork !!

Did I read further up the thread, that you had a slow start?

I need some inspiration as I'm one month in and haven't lost anything yet! I'm struggling to sleep and feeling unbelievable fatigue both at the same time- it's horrible.

Newme24 · 13/01/2025 06:35

Trying to make myself accountable by updating this thread each week again now we're all back to routine. Have lost 1lb this week which I'm actually really happy about. I had a massive dinner and pudding last night and eaten some chocolate this week from the Christmas stash which I don't most weeks and low and behold my period came this morning so still happy with a pound. Hopefully 2 next week 🙏. One thing I will say about this jab and I don't know if anyone else agrees, is that I don't fall off the wagon completely anymore! Even weeks where I gained a pound or had no loss I don't see it as failure & then eat everything in the house. I just think it's all part and parcel of weight and it has totally normalised fluctuating for me. I don't throw in the towel. I know it's doable and I carry on. It's a revelation haha. Jab night tonight and we go again 💪🏻

JomonotFomo · 13/01/2025 10:44

I totally agree @Newme24 it’s levelled out the huge highs and lows of weight loss/food for me. I don’t think I’ve ever managed to stick to something so long before, but it’s definitely normalised fluctuating and not just considering them fuck ups! And then going mad.

AutumnStorms11 · 13/01/2025 12:19

Everyone keeps remarking now how much I’ve shrunk it’s a bit embarrassing as I’m still at bmi 25 so top of my weight but I’m short and mid size frame. I think I’ve lost inches through exercise in the last couple of months as running 3x a week but not lost much weight only 4lbs in last 6-7wks., my size 14 jeans though are hanging off me and the 12s are comfortable which is amazing. I’m into the bonus dose of the pen next week then I plan to stop for a couple of months to see what happens. But I’m very nervous as I’ve seen my sweet tooth kicking back in more now. I’ve been using smaller bowls & plates for the last month. Sticking to 3 meals a day, fasting 14-16hrs every day plus running or walking 5k every day. So lots of good habits now in place to hopefully stay on track but my bmi is down to 1400c which is the hard part of being short!

daffodilandtulip · 16/01/2025 07:39

Got a party on Sunday. Last night I thought I'd try on the two outfits I had planned out of my "old" clothes to decide which one looked best. Well neither. The trousers from office jobs circa 2014 didn't stay up and the previously skinny dress from 2018 hung off me like a sack.

I know it's a nice problem to have but now I need to go real life shopping 😭

MounjaroUser · 16/01/2025 11:21

@daffodilandtulip That's the very best problem to have!

MounjaroUser · 16/01/2025 11:25

@Megarea Yes, I've been really surprised at where we hold weight, too! None of my shoes fit now - I'm over 3.5 stone down with another 1.5 to go and don't know when to buy new shoes.

My shoulders are also narrower and so bony! When I used to look in the mirror, the slant on my arms were like round brackets ( ) whereas now they're square [ ]
