Hi,
I've taken the plunge and ordered Mounjaro through MedExpress. My prescription was accepted today and as long as it arrives in time I plan to start on Thursday (my birthday is on Wednesday 😂😂). I thought I would start a thread for any new starters if anyone is interested 😊

I’m on my 3rd day, yesterday had a few toilet trips. Today just the one first thing, which is normal.
Had my usual breakfast ( salmon and scrambled eggs) but a smaller portion. An apple this afternoon and just had some cod with bean sprouts and veg. I don’t eat processed food when cooking meals, my weight gain is portion sizes and chocolate cravings plus I am post menopausal and taking HRT, which can increase weight.
I exercise 4 times a week so I know it is good related, cut down on alcohol ages ago too.
Tonight I did crave some chocolate and had a small piece of dark chocolate.
I am hoping the suppression kicks in soon as I think some of my habits ( small portions) might be a placebo effect rather than the medication.

Nausea and loo trips everyone’s mentioning don’t sound great but hopefully those symptom will ease off?

Menopause is tough for weight gain! I’m very similar to you - menopausal and eat healthily on the whole,
exercise regularly but my portion control and evening dark chocolate habit made worse by red wine! Only drink on the weekends but I know I need to cut that out for a bit along with accompanying binges. Just really need some help to get there. Your one piece of chocolate is great though - it’s being able to stop at that and not go crazy ! I’m still waiting for approval and literally praying I’ll be accepted!

Still no side effects for me aside from
an ever so slightly dry mouth still. it's like I've not taken anything.

When calorie counting before - if I was eating a smaller amount of food like I am doing now, normally I'd be ravenous, constantly thinking about food & looking in the fridge.

But I'm just not... I'm hungry at meal times and satisfied Inbetween. Perfect!

They seem pretty common for the first few months but apparently ease after that.

I've got dry mouth (despite 3l of water) and headaches, discomfort from gas but most of all I'm so tired I fall asleep for 2 hours at 5pm and again to bed by 10. I slept through three alarms, so it's definitely knocked me out.

The most unexpected is my vision going all pixelated and weird. The MJ literature says that's low blood sugar messing with the shape of my eyes or something, and again shouldn't last more than a few months. I'm hoping I'll get better at managing the blood sugar levels. A small glass of smoothie seems to sort it out in the short term.

ItsMintUpNorth · 01/10/2024 22:02

Just ordered so fingers crossed it's approved and delivered by Saturday as I'd love to start Sunday.

LeatherJacketWedding · 01/10/2024 22:04

I’ve taken the plunge too!!!!
very, very nervous though and am planning on keeping it a secret irl!
mine is currently in transit from ‘The Slimming Clinic’ and cost me less than £100 delivered (£98 I think). Anyone else ordered from there?

Femme2804 · 01/10/2024 22:36

Yes please! I'm very nervous about the needle but need to make a start.

It's great that there's a ready made support group!

I finally got approved tonight after a week's wait. Hope it gets despatched soon. I really wanted to start it this week.

Like others, am feeling nervous. Worried about side effects and also, what if it doesn't work? Feels a bit like last chance saloon. I am nearly 54, have PCOS, about 5 or 6 stone to lose. Have tried to do it the normal way, and have succeeded several times over the years but... you know the story.

I thought about doing these injections a while ago but I really wanted one more attempt at making long-term diet and exercise changes before I went down this route, to see if I could avoid the jabs. One thing I've done - and have managed to maintain for more than 9 months now - is completely give up sugar. (Except for holidays/birthdays - I'm not a total masochist) My sugar addiction was absolutely out of control, so I'm amazed I've been able to do this. It wasn't even that hard! But while I lost a stone and a half very quickly (in the first three months) I've lost absolutely nothing since, in fact I've put on 4 pounds this month. Which proves to me yet again there's so much more to all this than just eating less.

But at least I feel I like I'm now going into this with an already really healthy diet, in the main. Hoping that might mean fewer side effects, but who knows. Maybe it's just luck of the draw.

I wasn't sure whether to inject morning or evening but as I work nights I decided to inject late afternoon once I've woken up. Not sure if that was the right thing to do but it's done now so I'm just going to roll with it.

PepsiMaxandPringleStacks · 02/10/2024 07:54

I just decided to inject this morning, my friend started at night and had insomnia. I'm excited to see if it has any effect on me!

LolaLouise · 02/10/2024 07:54

Hi all. I ordered end of last week and still waiting for approval. Ima bit anxious about it, i work long 13 hours shifts, and swap nights and day shifts often, so need to figure out the best day and time to inject.

On shift i eat very little as i dont have time, so function off energy drinks protein shakes and sugary coffee. At home i still have the coffee, but will eat large meals to try and catch up from days of eating very little.

Im not sure how my chaotic life will work with this, but right now i really need to make some changes and im struggling on my own, im finding work difficult with my weight, so im hoping MJ just gives me a little push along.

Im 5'4 and currently 92kg. My goal is 65kg.

Thanks lovely. I've ordered this morning so just waiting to be approved!

Namechangetheyarewatching · 02/10/2024 10:09

I've ordered, it's taken ages for them to allow the order to go through.
It's coming on 5th, but I'm away, do I have to sign for it or will they put it through the letterbox

Dogm · 02/10/2024 10:29

Morning. I did my first injection last night in my tummy, felt very simple and the instructions are easy to use. Tenny needle! Took my weight and measurements.
I used some anti bac gel cotton wool to clean skin, as no wipes included. Feel very tired (but normal for me) so unsure if that’s a side effect. Just had a coffee and all ok so far.

I'm still waiting for another update, not been approved yet from when I ordered Saturday from MedExpress. I don't want it to arrive at the weekend when DH is home as I'm keeping it a secret so if it doesn't arrive by Friday (seems unlikely) I guess I'll be starting next week!

ItsMintUpNorth · 02/10/2024 11:07

Ordered at 9.30pm last night from Zava and just been approved although delivery says Thursday 3rd to Thursday 10th which is a bit vague! I really want to start Sunday as I WFH Monday and Tuesday so hoping it comes by Saturday.

ItsMintUpNorth · 02/10/2024 11:09

I assumed with it being a temperature controlled drug and needing to be signed for you would be able to choose delivery date but doesn't seem many places offer that option, I guess due to high demand.

RunSlowTalkFast · 02/10/2024 11:20

As soon as I posted that message I got an email saying I'd been approved! Yay!

Waiting to hear it's been dispatched now.

How long was it from dispatch to delivery for people?

Has anyone bought ani diarrhoea/constipation medication? I'm also thinking of getting motion sickness tablets as people have said that helps with the nausea!

I ordered from Asda but they're supplied by Zava, they will dispatch it later today and it should be with you tomorrow. They don't dispatch on Thursday evenings or Fridays due to cold packs etc, so anything after a certain time on a Wednesday won't be dispatched until Monday.

ItsMintUpNorth · 02/10/2024 11:38

@PepsiMaxandPringleStacks ahh ok makes sense thanks!
