"Bit worried about doing the injection wrong? Are the instructions very clear? I've seen people talking about attaching the needle and needing to do a certain number of clicks etc and it sounds complicated!"
Just wanted to jump on and answer this question, hope that's ok? I started with Mounjaro at the beginning of July. The paper instructions that are in the box with the Kwikpen are very clear, with pictures, and step-by-step. It isn't complicated, but there are a few steps to go through. Even now, I have the instructions in front of me and just do a quick check that I know what I'm doing.
Attaching the needle, which is in a small disposable cap, is not tricky. You open the container by peeling off the paper/foil cover, then push it onto the end of the pen. Once it's pushed on, you twist it until it doesn't twist anymore to secure it. Then you take off the outer cap that you were just using to twist. You can then see the needle, which is now only covered by the narrow green plastic inner cover. You then follow the rest of the instructions, to prime the pen and needle, and then wind it out ready for injecting.
You won't need to "count clicks", that's only if you ever wanted to take less than a full dose for that pen. To use the pen, you need to wind it out ready to be pushed back in again when you're actually injecting it into your skin. To wind it out, you just turn the pen until the little window that shows the dose marker goes from 0 to 1. The pen clicks each time it passes a marker line between 0 and 1, if you counted, there are 60 clicks between the 0 position and the 1 position. So it's a fair bit of winding out until it reaches the 1 position. If you wanted to take a smaller dose you just don't wind it out as far, so a half-dose of the pen would be only winding out for 30 clicks. But most people don't need to do that.
So, it's not too complicated and you can always ask questions on the main "Continuing Mounjaro" thread if you're not sure of anything.
