Mounjaro October starters

Hi,
I've taken the plunge and ordered Mounjaro through MedExpress. My prescription was accepted today and as long as it arrives in time I plan to start on Thursday (my birthday is on Wednesday 😂😂). I thought I would start a thread for any new starters if anyone is interested 😊

I ordered from MedExpress on Saturday and it got approved in 7 minutes and has been dispatched. I'm 21 stone though 🙈🙈🙈 so no denying my size no matter how baggy the clothes are. They definitely don't seem to have a system though if people who ordered before me are still waiting

First injection done!! Eeeeeeek.

@thekewgirl my bmi is 27 and I was approved last week :) injecting tomorrow. You’ll be fine with a bmi of 29

Day 1 for me has gone fine.

No side effects that I've noticed other than a slightly dry mouth.

I do feel less hungry but could be placebo effect.

I've eaten today two roasted chicken drumsticks, raspberries & a small chocolate sweet someone brought from holiday. Not had my dinner yet but wouldn't say I'm sat here with a rumbling tummy or mentally going through the contents of the fridge/cupboards like normal.

Have thought long and hard about starting this after being overweight most of my adult life but have gained 3st in as many years I'm finding it hard to shift weight though diet and exercise and hope this give the extra push needed

I ordered mine late last night @EricTheGardener and it was approved this morning. Not sure if that’s to do with the fact I went full plunge and sent a (horrid) photo of me in underwear though, didn’t want to risk any delay with clothing. Looking at the photo made me so keen to get this started now.

Just ordered from Oushk after months of deliberation and a few weeks serious research. Will it really stop me snacking - that is my biggest downfall along with sugar? I have been 2-3 stone overweight all of my life and am tired of loosing a few pounds and then piling it back on. Delivery is Saturday. Am a little nervous - what if it doesn't work?!

I had my first jab last night! I didn't sleep very well which isn't unusual for me though. I've had suppression all day, absolutely no hunger at all and forced some food down. I went food shopping and nothing appealed to me. It was very strange, could be psychological but who knows. Ive had a bit of burping but no other bad side effects. I am a smoker and today I only had 3 cigarettes! I just didn't want them, the cravings seem to have gone 🤷

Wow - no nicotine cravings is a bonus! I don’t smoke but great for you🙌🏻

I don’t like the sound of sulphurous burps! Is there something you can eat/suck … to help with that?! I’ve been looking at electrolytes too
as quite a few of the earlier posts talked about that. Anything else that can be done to alleviate side effects.

I am hoping to use the MJ as a double whammy; I’m a smoker but will have to stop in order to use the money I’d normally spend a month on smoking, on the injections instead. Hoping it helps curb wine cravings too.

I really hope you manage to give up smoking - I’m an ex-smoker of about 21 years and it’s the best thing I ever did. It will be the perfect time to stop as you won’t put on loads of weight which is what happened to
me when I stopped smoking !! You’re going to feel super fit - go for it 🙌🏻

I've ordered today and am keeping everything crossed they approve it, I did Wegovy from last November to April and lost 50lbs, had a break over the summer and am back to lost the next 35lbs.

Congrats on day one - I feel a bit like you, I've felt less hungry but I'm not sure if it's psychological!

I'm sat trying to have my breakfast, I can feel my tummy is rumbling a bit, but I'm not massively interested in eating it.

Mine arrived yesterday from Medexpress. I am close to 14st and aiming to get to around 11st. Feeling nervous about starting, mainly about what I will actually eat! I am a single mum of teens going through an acrimonious divorce so quite a bit on my mind, I do find it hard to plan meals hence the weight gain....

My pen arrived this morning, I'm starting on Thursday. Really excited now. I've joined a couple of FB groups and seeing everybody's losses is really motivating

Joining! Mine arrived today - just injected as I'm working from home today. 5'2", over 12 stone. Want to get down to 9.7 - 10 stone. However, I hate weighing myself! I can get obsessive about it and in the past the scales have controlled my mood too much. I'm planning to go more by how clothes fit and my waist measurement and do an occasional weigh in.

Day 2 today, I have a headache and I'm chugging water and electrolytes to curb it. Its not an awful headache, just a dull one. I actually woke up before my alarm and got straight out of bed, unheard of for me, I'm a snoozer 🤣 I'm working tomorrow and I find dieting at work the hardest (lots of food around) so curious to see how that goes. I'm not hungry at all and I had a protein drink this morning. Still not fancying any food though! Not even thought about tea.

Oh and I had my morning cigarette and haven't fancied one since! Even if I can cut down, it's better then nothing!
