Mounjaro October starters

Hi,
I've taken the plunge and ordered Mounjaro through MedExpress. My prescription was accepted today and as long as it arrives in time I plan to start on Thursday (my birthday is on Wednesday 😂😂). I thought I would start a thread for any new starters if anyone is interested 😊

My hardest part at the moment is working out what to eat when I don't really fancy anything. I'm also really conscious that nearly all the food I have in the house is unhealthy! I need to meal plan for next week.

Just done my second jab, rreeeaaalllly hoping I feel some suppression this week, any would do 😄😭

Will weigh first thing in the morning to see how my first, suppression free, week went!

Had my first jab Monday night and i haven't felt anything, nothing at all. I am VERY overweight so would have expected to feel something. I suspect i will lose weight because i am sticking to 1200 calories and drinking water but certainly no supression and i am really hungry

First weigh in and have lost a huge 7 and a half pounds!!!!!
Have had good suppression, no food noise in my head and no side effects.
I am trying to eat between 11am-7 pm and choosing protein and veg over carbs. I am not tracking calories but probably around 100-1200 a day.
Have not felt the urge to snack. I can’t believe that I finally feel I can do this!!!!!

I’ve always been a decent sleeper once I am sleeping, but I’ve found getting to sleep so much easier in the past two weeks.

I’m naturally a moderately anxious person, have found that’s much more settled.

When I don’t feel like eating but need to I have an Arla Protein yoghurt - no chewing involved so easier to get down with a good protein portion. 10g of Protein per 100g of food is a good measure of a decent protein source, and they have 20g in a 200g pot.

Just out of interest, whereabouts are you doing your injection? Last week (1st jab) I did my stomach, a few side effects and lots of suppression, a bit too much really and struggled to eat anything. Did 2nd jab yesterday in my thigh, zero side effects (so far 🤞) and not much suppression at all up to now. Of course this may be because it’s now in my system and things could change in the next few days but I’m wondering whether it is true that the sites do make a difference 🤷‍♀️

I'm doing mine in my stomach.

I am so excited to weigh in tomorrow, really feel like I have lost lots of weight! Getting a little bit hungry today but not much.

@Pegsmum I did the first one on the right side of my stomach, second on the left.

Well that blows my theory then!

This thread is so busy it's hard to keep up or get to know people but well done to everyone and good luck to the new starters.

I've taken jab 2 today, I could've done with it yesterday because my hunger came back with a vengeance so I needed a lot of willpower as my body was pretty empty as I've not eaten much all week.

I'm going to weigh every 4 weeks so have no idea if I've lost any weight but my husband commented that I looked slimmer and he doesn't know I'm dieting so that was a positive.

It's just arrived,it's a big box for a small pen ..now I've got to open it and figure it out

Mine arrived a few hours ago and did the jab pretty much right away. Went to pick up kids from school and wasn't remotely tempted by the percy pigs in the glove box. Surely it can have taken affect already? It's only been 3 hours. Am guessing it must be some sort of placebo affect?! Whatever it is, I'll take it!

I've done it .but I didn't feel anything,I'm worried I've done it wrong,it didn't feel like it injected me ,the liquid has gone down in the pen ,and my skin is not wet . bizarre

Same. Not even a scratch. I had teeny bit of blood and that's only reason I know a needle actually went in!!

Meant to say surely it CAN'T have taken affect. Not can!

I took a photo on my phone and scrolled in ,and there is a tiny puncher mark ..now I'm thinking,gosh I'm so fat I don't even feel a needle go in .

I've a bottle of lactose at the ready ,to ward of constipation before it sets in ,and I'm good to go

My first pen arrived today and injected straight away - if I dithered, I would never have done it. And surprised at how easy and painless it was!

Mine’s arrived. We’re out for dinner tonight as it’s DH birthday, I thought I’d take it before bed tonight. Fingers crossed all goes well tomorrow.

Another really good day for me. Had a tea and cake thing after work and ate one biscuit and didn't want anything else. I don't recognise myself. I've never felt so in control and relaxed around food.

Can I ask how long you have been taking it ,

Only since last Friday! Weigh in day and injection two tomorrow.

Response varies from person to person and I feel incredibly lucky that it has gone so well so far. I took the first jab 10pm Friday night and had appetite suppression from 12 hours later.
