Rockfordpeach · 28/09/2024 17:08

Hi,
I've taken the plunge and ordered Mounjaro through MedExpress. My prescription was accepted today and as long as it arrives in time I plan to start on Thursday (my birthday is on Wednesday 😂😂). I thought I would start a thread for any new starters if anyone is interested 😊

@Vegemite123 you said Joy but did you mean Voy? I am with Voy and haven’t been hugely impressed - wondering if it was Voy you meant or whether there is another provider with similar name! My first coaching session was ok but really not worth the extra ££

Oh yes, I did mean Voy. Autocorrect … I had a discount code, so cost wise it was the same as the others. I’ve done the intro video session (which seemed good). But the first coaching session is ages away - though it’s my availability that’s the problem. I really liked the idea of being able to whatssap my coach, but can’t really figure out how it works. AND I had an AI coach reply, despite them saying on the website that they didn’t use AI!!

Jab day today (2nd dose of 5mg) and I'm OVERWEIGHT, as of this morning I am no longer Obese!!!

Aug 19 2024 I weighed 218 lb

Started healthy eating because I was diagnosed as T2 Diabetic.
Started MJ on 5th September.

CW - 197 lb
Loss - 21 lb
GW - 164 lb which is the top end of healthy BMI

Maggi85 · 10/10/2024 07:16

2nd injection this morning just done - lost 5lbs first week, happy with that. Suppression has worn off so hoping it kicks in again with 2nd jab. Hope everyone has a good day.

NearlyNewHip · 10/10/2024 07:17

Hello All x Have been reading the thread with great interest. Have my first consultation tomorrow evening with my local chemist and if approved he'll show me/help me with the first jab there and then. I'm looking at a hip replacement in the next 12 month and the consultant asked me to please try my best to lose some weight and give up smoking beforehand. Have a BMI of 35.4 so obese. Really hoping this works for me after approx 27 years (am 47 now) of yo yo-ing, Weight Watchers, Slimming World, Cambridge, SlimFast, on and on it goes.

hopeishere · 10/10/2024 07:30

Oh my goodness - terrible diarrhoea at 5am. Very glad I'm off work today!

PolaDeVeboise · 10/10/2024 07:38

Hey all. I did my second jab yesterday morning, and have woken up feeling really shaky today - is this normal. I'm also waking up frequently in the night ☹️

mjuser · 10/10/2024 07:41

Morning all, just checking in.

I had chocolate yesterday. One Cadbury Rose. ONE.

I don't even know who I am anymore.

Pickled21 · 10/10/2024 07:45

Hi, I am 5ft4 and weighed 14stone 6. I ordered mounjaro from medexpress. I had my second jab yesterday and will be getting on the scales today. No major side effects although on the first week I was up a lot to pee. I am calorie counting but need to up the ante with the exercise. I don't drive so do a lot of walking anyway but as I've got a lot to lose I think I need to come up with a better excuse routine.

Shudacudawuda · 10/10/2024 07:50

Brilliant typo at the end of your post there @Pickled21 !

Have you been eating enough? Could be very low blood sugar levels?

I’m waking up a lot and sleep is an issue. Not a great side effect.

Downandout21 · 10/10/2024 09:44

First jab Tuesday, today feeling very very sick.

Midlifecrisisxamillion · 10/10/2024 09:50

I had first injection last night. Today I'm FREEZING!

Flugelb1nder · 10/10/2024 09:56

First injection last night and I feel so anxious about it (but i feel anxious about everything as i have GAD) - other than that all good

I have various medical conditions that will be hopefully be helped by being thinner

It's good to know someone else started on the same night as me. Feel free to PM if you want to share the journey.

I was the same after my first, it lasted a few days but seems to have worn off now.

That's good to know. I've got the heating on, hot water bottle on me and I'm still freezing.

JeliBean · 10/10/2024 10:21

Day 6 here (2.5mg) and I’ve not noticed any lessening of suppression so far thankfully. I’ve noticed that my sleep is a bit more interrupted and I’m having quite vivid dreams but apart from that every thing is ok. It really has been a struggle to eat on some days this week and that has been the most surprising part.
Hope you all have a good day

PolaDeVeboise · 10/10/2024 10:41

@EVK good point, I'll need to look at that.
@Midlifecrisisxamillion - I'm freezing a lot too.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 10/10/2024 10:45

I had my first jab yesterday too, am also really cold today and I am never cold thanks to my usual constant hot flushes!

I'm never cold normally too :(

surreygirl1987 · 07/10/2024 18:29

Did you get an answer for this? Am wondering the same thing!

In the end I just ordered it to be delivered by Royal Mail. I got a message early in the morning to say it was arriving that day and it gave me an option to update delivery instructions so I had it sent to my local post office which thankfully is still open when I finish work so I was able to pick it up the same day.

envbeckyc · 10/10/2024 11:37

So I ordered my first dose on Sunday evening, which arrived this morning.

It was straightforward to follow the instructions and I just gave myself my first injection (right thigh) which was absolutely fine!

When I had my daughters by C-sections I had to self inject blood thinners into my stomach for 10 days and that was much worse.

I am working from home today, my husband is out on a site visit (I haven’t told him that I have started this treatment because he would probably feel he would be disappointed and say that my weight doesn’t matter to him - but I am absolutely doing this for myself because I am the one that wants to lose weight and feel healthier again)

I am hoping that this will curb my hunger which has been relentless for the last year since I started going through perimenopause!

It’s great to feel part of a community of people going through the same process and to know that there is support out there!

Thank you!
