Mounjaro October starters

Hi,
I've taken the plunge and ordered Mounjaro through MedExpress. My prescription was accepted today and as long as it arrives in time I plan to start on Thursday (my birthday is on Wednesday 😂😂). I thought I would start a thread for any new starters if anyone is interested 😊

I’ve just had my first dose will keep you all updated - fingers crossed. 🤞🏼

@yummycookie Ive had the same hoohaa with delivery, said it was rescheduled to tomorrow but then got an email saying it was in my safe place!

Mine has finally been approved and prescribed, hopefully dispatches tomorrow and i can start Sunday, as i have every Sunday off work for the next 8 weeks seems to be the best day for consistency

Hi, thought I would share my 48 hour update! — mild nausea for short period’s with
a pretty noticeable reduction in appetite and thinking about food.
It's like food/snacks/hunger is switched off and there’s a blank space! I have eaten v small amounts at lunch and dinner almost as habit’s but did want ‘something’. Last night was a round of sandwiches and plain crisps! Didn’t want a strong flavour which I normally like.
Breakfast was a smoothie and a coffee.
Today I have eaten a 70g bag of chicken fridge raiders and a small piece of baguette with ham and a bag of ready salad crisps. Also a cup of tea and a mini muffin .
I do think I need and want something else this evening, but I feel I am being quite cautious as too not feel sick/upset tummy etc as am pleased it’s been good so far!
sleep and energy ok. Lots of water in the day too.

I was looking at joining this thread but I think it may be more mid oct as to when I get the pen!

im away this weekend with my kids and husband on a little weekend break and next week I have to work away for 3 days wed- Fri where all food is supplied by the company or eating out so it would be best to start next weekend.

if I ordered the pen on Thursday, would it be here by sat? Hopefully? Hoping to do my first dose on Sat incase poorly (next week).

WHO are everyone ordering it from? The slimming clinic looks to be the cheapest at £99 delivered for the first dose.

Hi all, my first pen arrived last Friday but we had a busy weekend and I’ve been putting off starting but I think tonight is finally the night…but I’m scared!! Can anyone offer me any encouragement? I’m actually scared of the injection more than anything else!

Honestly I was a bit nervous when it came to injecting but let me save you time & energy... Do not worry about it!

Honestly, the needle is so fine. You don't even get the sharp scratch you expect from injections/vaccines. It's literally nothing... can't even feel it!

@NearlyAutumnNow I was nervous too but just read the instructions a couple of times and just picked a quite ten mins to do it. Was absolutely fine, no pain, no bruise.

@NearlyAutumnNow - I inserted the needle 3 or 4 times when I was trying to get mine to work and it was honestly fine. Not painful at all. You will feel absolutely fine after that first go

MedExpress weee realty impressive today - I videoed the faulty pen and they agreed it was defective so sending a replacement which will be here tomorrow

First injection done- didn’t feel anything (probably the only advantage of a fat belly!)
Hopefully the only way is down!

I genuinely had to look at my tummy and be like is it in cause I didn't feel anything!! Obvs have too much flab

I pick up my first one tomorrow but won’t do it until Sunday, as I have a meal for my dad’s 70th so don’t want to ruin it! BMI is 31 - 13st 10 looking to get to 11st7 - 12st so around 2st I want to loose. I know I should probably be looking at more (if I go by bmi) but I know I can maintain this more comfortably and I like my shape around there.

I ordered 9pm Tuesday, approved by 10am Wednesday but no sign of my delivery yet, that was from Zava which with a discount code was £122 incl delivery.

I put the needle in twice this morning in my panic I had done it wrong. It doesn't hurt at all

My first day has gone well. I wouldn't say I have full appetite suppression yet but the edge has definitely been taken off. I've felt nauseous after eating and I haven't felt the urge to snack. I've had some toast for breakfast, soup and bread for lunch and then I had some lentils with chicken and goats cheese for dinner. I've also had a packet of crisps. 1300 kcals in total today

Sounds like a good day one! Dont forget to count drinks though, even if its only half a sugar and a drop of milk in tea a couple of times a day, it does all adds up

Ahhh I would like to join this thread. I put in for my first dose and just awaiting approval so will start over the next week or so, fingers crossed.

I honestly didn’t feel the needle or the liquid going in at all. So much so that I checked the pen afterwards to make sure that there was less liquid and also had to really inspect my stomach to find the needle site to make sure I hadn’t somehow not given it 😅

Take a deep breath and take plenty of time to read the instructions as you go and you’ll be absolutely fine!!
