I see so many threads for people who all started about the same time as each other and think it must be good to have people at similar stages that you can share stories with and go through it all together.

There is a Sept thread but those guys have all started already.

Anyone due to start in the second half of Sept that would be interested in a thread?

I am just waiting delivery of my first pen today but don't plan to inject until Sunday evening. I WFH so cannot work out if having the 'worst' of any side effects ruining the weekend is better/worse than having to work through them on Mon/Tue. However, I have a couple of weekend social things coming up and decided it might be easier to do them when my previous injection is starting to wear off a bit - so Sunday nights it is!

Thanks all it makes me feel a little better there's a few of us in it for a long haul for a while - so glad we have this thread to keep motivated!

Forced myself to eat dinner tonight, and then early to bed soon. Headaches largely gone which is great!

I have at least 6 stone to lose so I’m in it for the long haul too. Reading through everyone’s posts and exchanging ideas and thoughts is something I now do in the evening when I used to spend the time back and forth to the kitchen for food!
when do you start the 5mg dose? I’m due to take it on Tuesday but slightly nervous that it will make me feel very sick.

Took my 4th dose of 2.5mg earlier the nausea has started already. I have kept the pen to try and get the golden dose ou next week.

I started at 16 stone 2 on 22nd September. Today I weighed in at 15 stone 4. I am so pleased as I have struggled to eat but I have made sure when I do I get my calories in. My average is 1700.

I am not sure on my goal weight yet, but I am 40 in February and I would like to be able to have a picture with my daughter I can show people without feeling embarrassed about my size.

How is everyone else getting on?

Almost exactly the same weight and loss as you, started roughly the same time. Onwards and upwards!

What supplements are people taking? I've always taken a LOT for various reasons, but if there were a specific MJ - GLP1 supplement I think I'd save supplements cash and could happily spend that elsewhere.

I have high BP, I take Holland &Barrett heart health as my main supplement, - which now that I've looked at in more detail is basically B1, B12, fish oil, tumeric and Q10 - which isn't enough for a multivitamin , a separate Q10, collagen, glucosamine for my achy knees and hips and a friendly bacteria gut supplement.

I think I'll switch out to a good multivit and a fish oil and keep with the gut for a bit...my joints feel better for not hefting around my start weight....

ShiftAMountain · 12/10/2024 16:12

I've always taken a multivit and some jointcare vitamins and I've kept on with them.

Because I am a sucker, I also added Biotin and more recently collagen on the off chance they help my hair, nails and skin through this process. I also added psyllium husk with probiotic.

4th jab just done. How quickly the time has gone and already I have 'officially' finished a pen - though I am going to syringe out the bonus dose next week.

I don't take anything, although I usually start with Vit D around this time of year. Must remember to put that in the next shopping delivery.

I think as long as you're eating a fairly balanced diet you should be fine.

Darkflames · 12/10/2024 19:58

I take vitamin D and magnesium, have been for a few months as my vit D level was low.

I got the bonus out of my pen today. I did a hard twist, it was easy enough.

Yesterday I really felt like it had worn off. Was tempted to go straight to 5mg today but also need to try to make each pen last as long as possible.

JustWalkingTheDogs · 12/10/2024 20:16

I'm on my 4th week of 2.5, I've not felt the suppression etc that most people seem to have had. But I think it's just helping me make good choices and I'm not snacking which is a win. I even watched bake off and didn't buy myself a cinnamon role in Aldi today Grin

In the 3 full weeks I've been taking it, I've lost 6lbs which doesn't feel like much when I read about other people's losses (I must stop comparing myself). 4lbs in week 1 then 1lb a week.

I'm going to take my bonus dose before starting on 5mg in a few weeks time.

AussieMum135 · 12/10/2024 23:25

End of week 2, I know I shouldn't be but I'm a little disappointed this week, I have not been hungry and have forced myself to eat but maybe not enough (average 900 calories). I only lost 0.5kg and it's fluctuated up and down all week. I did have my period and as I'm in peri that's constantly changing from how it used to be too.

SW 84.2kg (13.25 st)
End of week 2 - 80kg (12.59st)
Loss 0.5kg (1.1pd)
GW 62kg (9.76st)

Jabberwokie · 13/10/2024 08:12

2nd weigh in day for me (on 2.5). I lost 3.5lbs in week 1 and another 2lbs this week, so 5.5lbs altogether. I’m a touch disappointed, as I have around 4-5st to lose, but I haven’t really been dieting. I’ve cut out sweet stuff and wine, but everything else is okay, if I fancy it. I haven’t really eaten a great deal though and I prefer healthy food - lean meats and salads/veg.

I think I’m going to try to diet this coming week 😄. I’d really like to lose at least 2lbs a week.

Good luck for the coming week everyone.

@10storeylovesong that is amazing!! It’s such a great feeling when you notice a difference and you have made amazing progress.

i am one week behind you. It’s been slower than I hoped, but still losing weight faster than I usually would. I am usually lucky to manage 1lb a week!

my suppression is high. I forgot to eat lunch yesterday which is unheard of for me!

I am now on the boundary of obese which is amazing!! I started at a size 16 - but was embarrassingly wearing size 14 clothes. My clothes are still a big tight but don’t hurt anymore🤣. I am very short so can overweight and a size 10.

Week 2 weigh in, down 1.9kg.

Because I’m a needy cow, I decided to count this week in pounds instead to make me feel better - 4lbs sounds a much more satisfying loss than 1.9kg 😂

SW - 129.4kg
CW - 124.3kg
GW - god only know, but under 95kg so I meet the threshold for abdominal surgery I’ve been waiting for

Witchyandtwitchy · 13/10/2024 10:54

4th dose of 2.5mg due tomorrow.
Loss so far is 11lb in 3 weeks.

Thought I’d order my next pen tomorrow just in case I don’t manage to get the bonus dose out.
Should I order a 5mg pen? Or stick to 2.5?
I realise I’ve had a good loss so far but will slow down, so might need the 5.

WeeklyJab · 13/10/2024 11:06

@Witchyandtwitchy - I’m going to go to 5, which is a therapeutic dose anyway and what would normally be prescribed after a month if my understanding of the literature is correct.

Bellyblueboy · 13/10/2024 11:10

I am going to 5mg too. Hoping to get five doses of 2.5 out of my pen then move up.

I do hope to stay on five for at least two months. I don’t want to risk going up to 7.5mg over Christmas in case of side effects.

Pashazade · 13/10/2024 11:15

I've decided I'm going to stick with 2.5mg for my next pen as I've got a full on physical activity weekend due the weekend after my 5th dose (new pen) and I don't want to risk a bad set of side effects from 5mg ruining it! So it may mean I'm not loosing as much over the next month, but I'm going to lean into mentally working at it as well as the drugs effects. Which is so much easier with the drugs anyway! Even if appetite suppression isn't as strong.

Ozgirl75 · 13/10/2024 11:32

Haven’t been on here for a while - my dad has been in hospital having a biopsy and the surgeon has said she thinks it’s probably cancer which is a huge bummer. He’s totally well, no symptoms at all, but suddenly had a random pleural effusion, which when they looked at on CT scan, they found thickening in the lung. So waiting to hear for certain but I assume surgeons see this often and wouldn’t mention cancer unless it was quite likely.
It’s thrown us because he’s 78 but totally healthy, no other things wrong with him at all, even had covid recently and threw it off in two days.

Apart from that, I’ve been good. Weight loss has continued and I’m on week 3 now and actually felt very well today (normally I feel a bit fragile on day 1) but we went for a long bike ride which was nice. I think I’ll stay on 2.5 for next pen because I’m feeling well, suppression has continued and although the weight isn’t falling off, I’ve lost 4kg in 2 weeks which is awesome.

Sorry to hear about your dad @Ozgirl75 will be thinking of you.

Jabberwokie · 13/10/2024 17:13

Sorry to hear about your dad, Ozgirl75. Fingers crossed it isn’t as bad as you fear.

WeeklyJab · 13/10/2024 18:11

I’m sorry about your father, @Ozgirl75 , and I hope he gets a more encouraging diagnosis.

I was fine for 3 hours after my third dose of 2.5 this morning but I’ve felt dizzy and sick ever since. This is horrible. I can’t even read and the world spins if I close my eyes.

I hope this is short lived!

ShiftAMountain · 13/10/2024 18:49

Oh @Ozgirl75 I am also sorry to hear about your father. I hope you get some better news soon.

I took my 4th 2.5mg jab yesterday and, out of the blue, it's like the first jab all over again in terms of lots of supression and satiety. Makes me worry going to 5mg is the wrong move - but I've ordered it now and it was only £10 more than the 2.5mg so I won't have wasted much if it proves to be too much.
