I see so many threads for people who all started about the same time as each other and think it must be good to have people at similar stages that you can share stories with and go through it all together.

There is a Sept thread but those guys have all started already.

Anyone due to start in the second half of Sept that would be interested in a thread?

I am just waiting delivery of my first pen today but don't plan to inject until Sunday evening. I WFH so cannot work out if having the 'worst' of any side effects ruining the weekend is better/worse than having to work through them on Mon/Tue. However, I have a couple of weekend social things coming up and decided it might be easier to do them when my previous injection is starting to wear off a bit - so Sunday nights it is!

That's me too. I'm not going everyday but it's become regular when I do go, which in itself is fantastic seeing as it should be worse after a few days. No more need for laxatives or any help with constipation. Fingers crossed it stays the same.

Orangesandlemons77 · 06/10/2024 13:26

I am finding glucomannan capsules are helping with constipation and with the feeling where your tummy is rumbling / empty but you don't feel hungry. (which I seem to get quite a bit, hoping this passes with time) It is the same stuff in Konya, or 'zero' noodles.

Is anyone concerned about losing weight ‘too fast’ or has anyone had fluey symptoms?

I've been in bed since Thursday night pretty
much and just trying to sleep due to the nausea, fatigue, aches and pains. I’ve not really eaten for two days and just kept water intake up as the smell and sight of food made me feel queasy. Could be side effects but I’ve also had a sore throat and other bits on and off for over a week.. Covid has also been suggested. I’m just coming round today and feeling human again.

First week of injection had been fine but I was having a very long and heavy period from hell - 2nd since February (peri-menopausal) so maybe discounted any symptoms due to that.

This is mid way through my second week and so far I’m down 13lbs 8oz. Which is good - but I’m only trying to lose 4 stone and wanted a steady away loss. I’m sure it will calm down. I don’t know why I’m worrying. Maybe I just feel it’s been too easy and I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop.

someone bop me round the head and tell
me to give over worrying please!

Jabberwokie · 06/10/2024 13:52

Blimey, almost a stone in 2 weeks. That’s great, but is probably partly because you are unwell.

Have you tested for Covid. When I had it, I had those symptoms rather than the symptoms commonly talked about. In any event, I hope you feel better soon.

Obeseandashamed · 06/10/2024 14:27

Hello all, sorry I've been a little awol. This week has been a weird one. I gained a pound but have also been on my period and noticed appetite suppression hasn't been great this week. Tuesday is my injection day so I'm hoping that I can drop something before then. Still no major side effects thankfully!

Bellyblueboy · 06/10/2024 14:32

Hello - half way through week two and really struggling to eat over 600 calories - but forcing myself.

in a way it’s freeing - I am not constantly mentally planning my next snack or meal. I am not nipping to M&S for ‘treats’. If I think about food I feel a bit queasy.

weight loss has been slow and steady - but I know it’s very very early in this process.

enjoying keeping records of everything😊

Have you tried the fibre gummies?

Ooh what are those?

Bellyblueboy · 06/10/2024 16:02

It’s an app called shotsy. I haven’t bought any of the features but I like recording them hen I have taken shots and where!

ShiftAMountain · 06/10/2024 17:46

Social weekend now over - successfully navigated two dinners out without over eating or making myself feel ill but still enjoying them. Phew.

Jab 3 just one.

I use Shotsy too @Bellyblueboy - for no other reason than I seem to love data. I need better hobbiesGrin

@Jabberwokie i had two tests left and had a positive and negative result from them
over 2 days. So I’m taking that as a ‘maybe’! Luckily managed to eat today so happier little sausage. ;)

Sunbeamturtle · 06/10/2024 18:39

@TheCatterall false positives are extremely unusual whereas false negatives aren’t so I’d say you have it

Rm2018 · 06/10/2024 18:39

Just ordered the renpho scales and tape. ...I'm a marketers dream!! Hope help keep focused if have no lb weeks!

TheCatterall · 06/10/2024 20:24

Thank you @Sunbeamturtle for that joyous news. ;) I manage a mother and baby charity shop so I’m so glad I made the decision not to open this week as I was just too run down to manage it. Giving new babies and mums to be Covid (or any lurgy) is not on my to do list ever.

Im starting to feel like it’s turned a corner now🤞🏼

Hi everyone.

I've just decided to dig out my old adult colouring books that I used to use quite a bit during Covid for some mindless relaxation. Trying to get back into implementing healthy habits in evening to avoid fingers reaching for snacks. Anyone got anything similar they are working at?

ShiftAMountain · 06/10/2024 20:43

@peonym - I've recently started a bit of a fountain pen collection after having to use one for a project and it reminding me how much I love writing with them. Anyway as part of it I've been trying to improve my cursive handwriting so often so a few practice pages in the evening. Mostly to stop me staring at more screens - I work on a PC all day.

@peonym Im digging deep into learning Spanish daily, learning how to make my own AI GPTs for some business interests I have, got the watercolours back out and I’m taking weekly online lessons. Some embroidery and Titivating my clothes with small embellishments and tweaks … oh and ripping apart the bathroom to lay a plywood floor and then put some vinyl down - then doing a laminate floor in my office/spare room. Gotta keep the fingers busy.

Carrots are my new snacks, or apples slices with peanut butter, or some walnuts/almonds with crystallised ginger and dried pineapple.

I have started having long hot bubble baths, good in the cold also. Just lie there listening to music and switch off a bit.

peonym · 06/10/2024 22:27

Love these activities! @TheCatterall you'll have to post after pics of the bathroom job!

I've been painting the trim in my house, I did it when we moved in 3 years ago but not happy with how it's stood up so redoing. Something I've wanted to do for a while but couldn't find the drive or energy.

Like @Jabberwokie I've also noticed the reduced call for a drink..very unusual for me.

Period has started and I've moticed since no loss and few grams gained (I weigh daily).

Ozgirl75 · 07/10/2024 05:09

@AussieMum135 I need to work up the enthusiasm to do my door frames etc too. We’ve been in our house for 10 years and we had it all painted about 8 years ago and after two boys have grown from 2-14 there are now many chips from indoor pursuits!

Yep 3 boys who are now 10 to 17, I need something more hard wearing to stand up to indoor footy and basketball plus the odd wrestle mania! I used water based paint before...not strong enough. But my God the enamel paint stinks so I have been sleeping in the lounge whilst they were away at their dad's.

One of my sons had some friends round today and he brought a home made cake with him - he’s such a nice kid (and a good baker) so there was no way I could refuse a slice, even though I didn’t fancy it at all.
Well it was tasty, and I ate a few bites, exclaimed about its deliciousness and then hid the rest in the flower bed.
