I see so many threads for people who all started about the same time as each other and think it must be good to have people at similar stages that you can share stories with and go through it all together.

There is a Sept thread but those guys have all started already.

Anyone due to start in the second half of Sept that would be interested in a thread?

I am just waiting delivery of my first pen today but don't plan to inject until Sunday evening. I WFH so cannot work out if having the 'worst' of any side effects ruining the weekend is better/worse than having to work through them on Mon/Tue. However, I have a couple of weekend social things coming up and decided it might be easier to do them when my previous injection is starting to wear off a bit - so Sunday nights it is!

Week one finished. 4.8 lbs down. Might be more as I couldn’t weigh this morning as I stayed at a friend’s last night.

I had 6 wines last night! My friend is a pharmacist and was like ‘don’t worry, it doesn’t interact with alcohol’ and it didn’t. Feel fine and pleased that I can continue to live my life as usual. I don’t go out too often, although out again tonight! Also, I didn’t have much food yesterday to lessen the damage!

Took my jab at 11am. Feel great at the moment. I am blitzing my house!

My appetite suppression has finally truly kicked in I think - I officially don't want dinner lol.

All I've had today is a small homemade banana muffin and a couple of chips off my husband's plate at lunch when we were out. Ordered husband a takeaway but decided I'm just going to have some toast and cheese for my dinner. Hallelujah.

Darkflames · 05/10/2024 20:17

I just took my 4th injection and thought I’d see if I could break the seal to get a fifth does next week - it was stiff but easy enough to get the pen to get to 1 for next weeks dose.

Snapespeare · 05/10/2024 21:30

Living it large today, 3rd injection in my left thigh instead of my right. I'm so punk rock \m/

I took my second dose yesterday on day 8 and I'm already regretting it. I think I need to drop down to a half or 3/4 dose as 2.5 is just too strong for me.

Luckily still no bad side effects, but I'm so full after eating even a small amount each day, and worried this week will be worse as the dose in my system will be slightly higher. Averaged 1000 cals a day for past 8 days. Maybe that's ok - people do 800 a day for 12 weeks on the fast 800 don't they?

I'll just have to see how it goes. Maybe my body will get used to it. If not, I'm definitely going to reduce the dose for week 3

I had this but the 3rd and 4th dose were much less bad. I felt so ill after my 2nd jab I was considering packing it all in. Had my 4th jab on Thursday and my only side effect is struggling a bit with temperature regulation. Had no indigestion or nausea at all. Ordered my next pen and going up to 3.75. I'm still feeling some suppression but can eat a lot more when it comes to meal times so definitely think my body has got used to it.
Hang in there!

What stage are you at in terms of dose and weeks? I’ve found the appetite suppression is certainly not constant, I’m week 3 of 2.5ml.

Cocoaone · 05/10/2024 22:17

Thank you @Allmyfavouritepeople - useful to know and I've spent some time looking at old threads on here and seen other people have had similar at the start and then their bodies got used to it, so I'm feeling less freaked out!

AussieMum135 · 06/10/2024 00:05

End of week 1 for me and I am very happy with the results and more importantly how I am feeling in myself. I've found as I'm not sitting on the couch stuffing my face and drinking too much I'm taking much better care of myself, following the skin care routine, sleeping better etc

SW 84.2kg (13.25st)
CW 80.5kg (12.67st)

Week 1 loss 3.7kg (8.15pd)

Ozgirl75 · 06/10/2024 06:36

Took my second dose last night and feel fine today - ever so slightly fragile, as if I am in the end stages of recovering from a stomach bug, but generally fine. Not much appetite but that was the same on day one and two last week.
Luckily I got the new Liane Moriarty book out of the library and it’s a warm and sunny day here in Sydney so I’ve been sitting outside reading which is very pleasant.

peonym · 06/10/2024 08:08

@Mydoghealsmyheart halfway through week 2, 2.5mg. First week I would have said I maybe felt a touch less likely to eat on a couple of the days but just yesterday I've really noticed I don't fancy my food as much. Hoping it stays that way for a while so I can rack up some losses!!

Rm2018 · 06/10/2024 09:40

Have you tried the fibre gummies?

Are anyone else’s posts being hidden for a short period on the Mounjaro threads?

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 06/10/2024 10:58

I took my second dose on wed evening. First week I had suppression for the first 2 days then I was very hungry. Things feel very different this week! Thursday and Friday were great-the same suppression as last week but yesterday and today I’m struggling to eat much at all. Even after a few mouthfuls I feel very full and my stomach feels a little sore-like after youve e had a stomach bug. Weird.

I am pleased to read that you’ve noticed a difference now and I hope it continues for you. I’m very confused about the medication, there’s been a few days where I’ve thought “Hey, this is great that I’m not hungry” but for the most part it’s just like normal except with sporadic nausea. I’m really hoping that the 5ml dose makes a difference.

Snapespeare · 06/10/2024 11:32

I had the best uninterrupted eight hour sleep last night, went to bed about an hour after injecting my 3rd dose and woke up eight hours later. Amazing.

Oh I hope so! I wonder could you do a between dose before jumping to the 5mg if you're getting some nausea? I'm definitely a little constipated today which is making me feel very bloated.

WeeklyJab · 06/10/2024 11:38

Congratulations, @AussieMum135 , that's great!

I lost 3.2kg in my first week. I've just taken my second dose this morning.

Cocoaone · 06/10/2024 12:07

For anyone else anxious or worried about eating way below expected calories, I realised that gastric bypass/sleeve patients have a very similar issue.

I looked up the recommendations for them, and past the initial 3 month window of liquid and puree, it sounds like the lifelong diet is similar - 60/70g protein to be prioritised, a good multivitamin and 800-1200 calories per day. This has put me at ease some more, so thought I'd share in case it helped anyone else.

I went out for a lovely dinner last night - and I am still stuffed. Such a weird feeling! Didn’t even eat that much.

did manage to make the scales go up 2lb though🙃

Sunbeamturtle · 06/10/2024 12:14

MedExpress have very helpfully reminded me to order, exactly two weeks after I ordered the first one, but I'll leave it a week or so to see what I weigh after week 3 weigh in....

id be careful @Snapespeare as my order has been being processed with them for 6 days now….

I'm going to see how I get on with this week's scales and suppression - I'll order on Wednesday or Thursday I think, which gives me next Saturdays official 4th dose and the golden shot the Saturday after....(Thank you for the tip!).

Jabberwokie · 06/10/2024 12:57

May I join? I had my first 2.5 jab last Saturday evening (28th) & weighed in the following morning at 211 lbs - 15 stone 1lb. This morning, I am 207.4 - 14st 11.4lbs, so just over 3.5 lbs loss.

I'm a little disappointed to have lost so little, bearing in mind how much I need to lose. However, I'm not "dieting" as such, but rather cutting out the bad stuff and sticking to 3 meals a day, with no or very little snacking and no alcohol. I haven't felt deprived at all, but I haven't felt particularly full either. At the moment, I might be exercising a fair bit of willpower which has been strengthened by how much this is costing.

I'm very pleased not to have had any side effects other than a bit of constipation, as my "go to" symptom of illness and medication is nausea. I was plagued with it throughout my pregnancies.

I am also really pleased that the siren call for a glass or two of wine in the evening has disappeared. The almost continual chatter in my head regarding just about everything has also calmed down, leaving me more content.

SW - 15st 1lb (211 lbs)
Week 1 (2.5) - 14.11.4 (207.4 lbs)

First target = 14st (196 lbs)

Sunbeamturtle · 06/10/2024 13:17

I’m the total opposite of everyone - I’ve always been prone to constipation. But now I’m going every day!
