I see so many threads for people who all started about the same time as each other and think it must be good to have people at similar stages that you can share stories with and go through it all together.

There is a Sept thread but those guys have all started already.

Anyone due to start in the second half of Sept that would be interested in a thread?

I am just waiting delivery of my first pen today but don't plan to inject until Sunday evening. I WFH so cannot work out if having the 'worst' of any side effects ruining the weekend is better/worse than having to work through them on Mon/Tue. However, I have a couple of weekend social things coming up and decided it might be easier to do them when my previous injection is starting to wear off a bit - so Sunday nights it is!

Just got my order approved yesterday, awaiting it coming in the post, will be starting it next week!

Cocoaone · 27/09/2024 06:51

Sorry to hear that @10storeylovesong - I hope it passes quickly. You'd think you'd be safe at the end of the week, wouldn't you?!

I've woken up feeling ok so far. Not sure I feel any different tbh. I do need to be conscious about keeping regular-ish - I have IBS and swing between mild constipation and looser stools. I quite often go nearly a week without going and then will spend a week going daily or twice daily. I haven't been this week yet, so need to make sure it doesn't become a massive issue.

Welcome @PepsiMaxandPringleStacks

Well done @Bellybusting, long may your good weeks continue!

I always thought Toast was purely for very skinny people with no hips @Snapespeare , so I've never actually looked properly at their stuff. I'm a bad mumsnetter!

Morning!

First weigh in here and I've lost 8lb... only about her 6.5 stone to go 🫠...

Im really chuffed tho has I have surprised myself by how easy it is once that food noise is gone and what it's actually like to feel full. I honestly don't think I've ever had that feeling my whole life, so was nice to reflect on. I did start getting some noise back in yesterday but still had suppression, which was bizarre.

Off to jab and start week two. Good luck to anyone else weighing in.

JustWalkingTheDogs · 27/09/2024 07:56

The headache has finally subsided to a dull ache, thank god! I was seriously considering giving it up last night.

But that's week 1 done. I lost 4lb which I'm happy with. I've been really sedentary this week and have barely left the house so I'm happy with the 4lb. Plus I'm down from 14st 3lb to 13st 13lb. It's always nice to go down a number

ShiftAMountain · 27/09/2024 08:09

6lbs gone here since Monday last week when I weighed for my pen application. Looking forward to me second dose tomorrow and a return the quiet that comes with it.

KitsyWitsy · 27/09/2024 08:37

It’s been dispatched by MedExpress. Hope it comes tomorrow.

I need to take some pictures of myself I think.. more than the one I took for application. Be nice to see some progress. How horrific though.

KitsyWitsy · 27/09/2024 08:49

Oh and reading the other threads is costly…. I ordered fancy collagen and hydration supplements. That got rid of another £50.

I am hoping that the injections make it easier for me to make better choices with food. I tend to get very hungry, very quickly and then I order takeaway so I can eat a lot quickly. My portion control is also not great. I eat way more than I should at meals. Currently, we get Gousto meals for 3 people but there are only 2 of us now and some nights it’s just me, but I still eat most of it myself…

And I am also hoping that side effects are minimal because walking really helps with weight-loss and I haven’t been doing much lately since I had Covid for the 4th bloody time.

ShiftAMountain · 27/09/2024 08:50

Thanks for the reminder @KitsyWitsy - I meant to take a photo each week (which I've done now).

That’s a decent first weigh in! Well done!

morning all - had my first jab yesterday, I feel like I did it wrong, I had to switch hand position half way through and it was moving around a lot. I went for the stomach but I have a lot of stretch marks there - could that be an issue? I don't feel any different 14 hours later. I've seen some tik toks of people saying different injection sites have different results, some people favour the back of the arm but that's a bit too advanced for me. Anyone else found the site makes a difference?

ShiftAMountain · 27/09/2024 09:20

Heyy @NoRealPersonInvolved - I felt like I messed up my first dose too. I underestimated how much hand strength was going to be needed to push the plunger all the way down.

Don't know if the site makes a difference (yet) but I do know I never "felt" different. I just acted different and found it easy to do so. It was very strange indeed because I expected more of a fundamental shift in how I felt. That never happened, I just found I was a bit 'meh' when it came to actually eating something.

That said, this is just a warming up dose. In theory, you're not meant to really feel any therapeutic benefit until you get to 7.5mg, officially. Though many do sooner.

@JustWalkingTheDogs and @ShiftAMountain well done on those brilliant losses.

Day 3 here, still have some food noise. No side effects thankfully. Going away at weekend so not expecting a big loss this week but a couple of pounds would be great.

Does anyone know if MJ is cumulative? So building up above base line each week?

Pashazade · 27/09/2024 10:16

When 2 crumpets for breakfast is too much! This is messing with my head!

ShiftAMountain · 27/09/2024 10:17

Yes, it is. By the end of each pen, the culmulative effect has stabilised but in the early weeks, it builds each dose...

Hi Guys :)

I have been a silent follower for a while but thought I would share my experiences, I started last week on the 21/09/2024 on the 2.5mg pen. I am due for my first weigh day tomorrow so I am excited/nervous. I am unsure if I have lost or not but I think I should have. I have ate in a 1400-1500 calorie deficit all week without fail.

I am a binge eater, I eat when happy, sad, angry, ecstatic. I hide food and will often eat more than one two meals of a night time because I lie about what I have ate in the day, my mind is constantly food, I will lie in bed all night and think what I will eat tomorrow and get up half way through the night and eat! I have tried every single diet and nothing has worked, but this! I am never hungry, food noise has gone I don't think how I used too and I would pay £100s of pounds just for that factor, hope it lasts!! I feel more free, I was mentally drained constantly every thought around food. It has worn off today however I am not starving I am being mindful and sticking to it for weigh in and a fresh dose in the AM. Wish me luck! (this has changed my life, for one week only) (so far) xxxx

I’d say not, as lots of people have said the food noise/suppression starts to build again as they get closer to their injection day.

ShiftAMountain · 27/09/2024 11:19

One thing I spotted someone ask about on Facebook was orders over Christmas - what with Xmas delivery dates and smaller pharmacies closing over the festive period, maybe.

I'm glad they did as it made me check and see if I am due to be ordering a new pen about then - I am so I need to forward plan a little bit to make sure I'm not left without.

Hi everyone

Can I join in here for a bit of support please?

I have received my pen now but am super nervous about when to start/ take first dose. I've got a plan to go out tomorrow evening to a concert and a fairly quiet weekend otherwise.

I've read a few different scores on taking it before bed/ first thing in the morning and prepping- I'm almost at risk of overthinking!

Thanks all Smile

TricksyLiesmith · 27/09/2024 11:49

@ShiftAMountain that graph is really interesting. I'm on week 1 day 4 so theoretically the suppression is stronger each week ???
I am definitely not being 'called to the fridge' so it's active . I still think about food a lot but have the mental space if that makes sense to make the right choices . I was a big unconscious eater where I could eat crisps for example and get to the bottom of the packet and not really recognise I was eating or tasting .

peonym · 27/09/2024 12:28

Very interesting thanks @ShiftAMountain

@HippityHoppityhoo I took it in middle of day and had no issues but I think ideally before bed just in case you do have some side effects. It seems some people have side effects the next day, others a few days later and others not at all! Good luck!

ShiftAMountain · 27/09/2024 12:30

I think what the chart cannot account for, is how much your body has got used to the drug. So, I guess it's possible for some people that it never feels like a stronger amount each week because their body is growing used to it at about the same rate?

Orangesandlemons77 · 27/09/2024 12:35

I'm still getting lots of suppression and some nausea on 2.5 and it is not wearing off really, just got my second pen from Voy and it is in the fridge. Going to stay on that for the time being. Not being called to the fridge in fact the opposite, can only face some foods and feeling a wee bit sad as I used to really love food! But it is good I suppose not to have the constant cravings

peonym · 27/09/2024 14:46

Yeah that makes sense @ShiftAMountain

Day 3, didn't eat breakfast (not unusual for me) and had scrambled eggs and toast for lunch. My husband left an opened bag of share crisps in kitchen and I had one and it didn't do anything for me. He's the annoying type where he can eat what he wants and not put on weight (that and the fact he plays football a lot). I've told him he's a feeder and he needs to cut it out!
