Morning all. Have eaten a little more over the last 48 hours and have broken my 8 day plateau! Have lost another 1.5lbs this morning, so that's 12lbs now in total. Meeting my girlfriends for coffee later and I wonder if they'll notice anything?

Arraminta · 18/09/2024 09:00

That's amazing news chunky monkey It's one of the best feelings isn't it.

ChunkyMunky · 18/09/2024 09:14

Thanks everyone, I’ve got a spring in my step today.

MabelSpan · 18/09/2024 09:56

Well done @ChunkyMunky you are doing brilliantly!

pippapumpkin · 18/09/2024 10:17

Finally today dropped down into 103kg range after hovering at 104/105 for a couple of weeks. I think around this weight is my set point as discussed in that article posted earlier. I hover at this weight, increase by 10 or so kg when I lose total control of my eating. And have on the odd occasion (break up, bereavement) dropped under it. Hoping I’ve broken it now and will start losing more consistently for a while. Can’t grumble though, gone from 112.7 to 103.5 in six weeks!

my first goal is to be in double figures rather than treble (99kg) hoping it’s not too far off now 🤞🏻

FlappingMadly · 18/09/2024 10:19

Great news @ChunkyMunky 🎇
And fab! @Arraminta and @eeeeeeeee Adios to plateaus.

Weigh day for me on Friday. 🤞🤞 I’ve dropped another kg.

20bloodypounds · 18/09/2024 11:00

Well done @ChunkyMunky and I'm loving your calculation of £ for lb

20bloodypounds · 18/09/2024 11:05

@Arraminta They might notice that you only ask for coffee and don't dive into cakes and pastries Smile

lookathatbookcase · 18/09/2024 11:06

Enormous congrats @ChunkyMunky and sending good vibes for everyone in the plateau.

Decided I wanted a cinnamon bun this morning from a local Swedish Bakery. Had half a bun, eaten slowly and deliciously over the morning. Saving the rest for tomorrow if I still want it. Honestly amazing to be able to have a delicious treat and not just want to go straight into eating 3 more of them.

Scales moving slowly - down to 14st now, from 15st 8 at the beginning of August. Very happy for the weight to have gone but like others struggling a bit not to really see it yet on my face or body? Onwards though.

True, though they already know I'm on Mounjaro.

WitchDancer · 18/09/2024 11:19

@ChunkyMunky well done! That's a massive loss.

@eeeeeeeee I used my bonus dose as a 5th week. It had about 3.3 in it so it was a good bridge between 2.5 and 5.

desparateidiot · 18/09/2024 11:26

I am on week 6, stuck to 2.5mg, I am 17lb down and have lost 17 inches across my whole body and my dad noticed in my face - I am actually feeling really confident on this now, I have another 17lb to go.

The only thing I am having issues with is the headaches and dizziness but I am on a mainly protein calorie deficit diet. I am trying to get 2-3ltrs of water in a day. I am going to try and incorporate more carbs, think my blood sugars may be low - has anyone else had headaches and dizziness? Feel light headeaded when I stand up but I have sinus issues so putting some of it down to that as I feel a little bunged up

WitchDancer · 18/09/2024 11:33

I've weighed in on my new scales this morning:

6 weeks in

Starting weight 17.6
Current weight 16.7
Total loss 13lb

Suddenly it seems worthwhile, even though the last few days have been super rough!

weaseleyes · 18/09/2024 11:36

Yes, I get the dizziness too, mainly the first 3 days after a jab, then a bit less for the rest, though that seemed to reverse randomly one week! I have my jab Thursday night as I don't work Fridays so have the weekend to get over the worst effects before Monday. I do some relatively physical volunteering on a Friday morning, though, and I find the woozy feeling really tricky. Think my first jab out of a 5mg pen tomorrow will be a 3.75, and I'll gradually creep up on 5mg!

Princessandthepie · 18/09/2024 11:55

Well done on the losses!

@eeeeeeeee I used the bonus dose in the 5th week, don't take jab 4 and the bonus dose together as that will be too much. I also just did a half twist on the pen as I have the pen needles left over from other meds I took.

Jab day for me today so I'll do it later. Another 1lb off this morning too which was nice to see as I've been stuck on 14.4 for about a week now.

AuntieDote · 18/09/2024 12:08

Hi all, trying to catch up on the thread as I dropped off for a bit - the mounjaro noise was rivalling food noise to be honest and I needed to dial it down a bit!

Hope everyone is doing ok, well done on all the successes so far!

I’m now just over 6 weeks in and I’ve lost 1stone. It was just over, but I’ve just been away for 4 days with a friend and had a small gain - not too concerned and actually wondering if that might be more to do with flying, or just more salt and a little bit of alcohol as I definitely kept my calories in line with what should have given me a small loss or maintain at best. Will weigh again tomorrow just to see, but either way not too concerned I know it’s all going the right way.

I’ve done 2 lots of 3.75 and last night when I got home I did my first dose of 5. Feel ok today - was actually starving this morning, and just feel normal today except tired because DD was up about 4 times in the night.

I posted earlier in the thread about being very sick the week before last. My stomach never fully settled to be honest, I’d be ok for a day then eat something and be back to getting terrible pains/ cramp and be either constipated or feeling like I need the loo all the time, and feeling nauseous. It seemed to die down then towards the end of last week - just as I was due to fly off on my mini holiday - it started again. Awful pains, sulfur burps, knowing I desperately needed a poo and it was right there but being unable to shift it - just hideous. Felt calmer the first day I was away, ate out that night and was very careful and it all seemed ok. Had a nice day by the pool and a simple tuna salad for lunch, thought all was going well and went back to the apartment to start getting ready for the evening when all hell let lose. The pains, the constant awful burps, cramping. Managed to poo and went to bed, only to be up throwing up through the night and into the morning. Thankfully that was the last of it and I was able to enjoy the last few days, and even have a couple of drinks and some (carefully selected!) tapas without any further bother!

But honestly, I was seriously contemplating whether my mj journey was over - I simply can’t keep going on feeling like that for at least a couple of days out of every week. Weirdly, it always seems to start about 3 days after the injection. I’ve always suffered with chronic IBS and had to be careful with what I eat, for the first 4 weeks on mounjaro it actually seemed to be helping, but the last two have been horrendous. My digestive system is so temperamental I’m just not sure anything that affects it more is going to be sustainable for me! I have gone ahead with this week’s dose as I really don’t want to give up yet - but if I have a repeat performance this week I think that’s me done.

I’m doing everything I can in terms of watching what I eat (can never predict what’s going to set me off though!), taking digestive enzymes, psyllium husk, chia seeds, taking probiotics and also adding in biomel too. I’ve also been drinking kombucha and adding sauerkraut to my salads as gut healthy foods! Let’s just hope it is enough.

Princessandthepie · 18/09/2024 12:09

*hard twist not half!

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/09/2024 12:18

@desparateidiot amazing you have done all that on 2.5

@AuntieDote sorry been suffering

@WitchDancer well done

poppym12 · 18/09/2024 12:24

How much weight (on average) is dropping a clothes size?

I bought the perfect trousers a couple of months ago thinking they'd be idea for meals out over Christmas. They're a bit too loose at the moment but I can get away with it as they're flowy, wide leg.

The Next sale starts today so I'm wondering whether to buy the the same trousers again a size (or 2) down.... Or would that be a waste as I might not get in them by Christmas?

I began on 12th August and have lost just over 16lb. I did my first 5ml injection on Sunday and have hardly been able to face food since but I think (hope) that this level of suppression and nausea will wear off.

AuntieDote · 18/09/2024 12:36

@poppym12 - the eternal question haha! I think it can be anything from 10lbs really, but can definitely take quite a bit more depending on how much weight you’re carrying and where.

I was an 18 when I started this time, and I didn’t think my clothes felt particularly lose even once I’d lost a stone. However, I’ve still only lost a stone but in the last week or so things have started feeling noticeably looser. So the fat has maybe reconfigured or shifted itself around a bit! I wouldn’t say ready to go down to the next size yea though, particularly not in trousers.

Last year I lost well over 2 stone (not mj) and I only really went down 1 dress size-ish. I was an ‘18m then too - but realistically probably more of a 20. And I got down to a 16, though still only in some things.

I’ve got a dress I want to buy for our work Christmas meal and my goal is that I’ll be wearing it in a size 14, which in theory is realistic with this medication but I’m hesitating buying as it just doesn’t seem that predictable at the moment!

MabelSpan · 18/09/2024 12:39

@poppym12 for me a dress size is about a stone and a half.

Wingingit11 · 18/09/2024 12:41

I think it also depends on what size you are tbh - in times I’ve lost weight before there was less pounds between small sizes. I think anything about 16 at least a stone ?

OP posts:
poppym12 · 18/09/2024 13:13

I was verging on a 20 when I bought the trousers but I think I'll at least order the 18 as I'll be disappointed not to wear them - I'd finally found an item of clothing I felt quite good in. I was thinking about 2 stone per size.

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 18/09/2024 13:14

First time today someone noticed I've lost weight. 🙏🙏🙏

Attending a work event and a colleague I've not seen for a while asked if I've lost weight and said I looked good.

Happy Days 😀😀😀
