Medexpress insist on it but I’ve been in touch with the surgery and they don’t seem to have received anything, though they did say notification does usually eventually arrive.

ChunkyMunky · 17/09/2024 07:47

Ohh no @MidLifeResurgence74 hope you’re feeling better soon.

@Timetochange24 I’m with Zava, and although they ask for my GP’s address they don’t seem to communicate with them directly. They emailed me a letter to send on to my GP. I haven’t bothered passing it on to GP, but don’t really object the them knowing. Pretty sure I’ve already got ‘fat’ on my medical records, as least I’m doing something about it.

Timetochange24 · 17/09/2024 08:37

Ha! Yes @ChunkyMunky pretty sure that's on my record too. In fact I even had a diagnosis of a "fatty lump" once 😆

(in my armpit, my GP is judgey but she's not that judgey...)

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/09/2024 08:58

Oh bless you. Yes Imodium. Maybe chocolate too fatty ?

Tho I've just been hugely sick after eating melon ffs so that blows that theory out of the window !!

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/09/2024 08:58

Yes med express do contact doctor

It's now on my medical records which I'm a bit peeved over but then again who else sees them apart from doctors and me

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/09/2024 09:00

It makes me think that least med express are being careful and tbh it is a medicine and doctors should be aware on it incase you go there over something else and they give uou something else that may not work well with it iyswim

AnnieMcFanny · 17/09/2024 09:04

@MidLifeResurgence74 I feel your pain and I hope you feel better now. 💐

I had an awful day yesterday all down to a very rare glass of red wine and I was so unwell with a massive hangover I went to the Dr. I told him I only had one glass and the look of disbelief on his face made me laugh because I suppose he hears that often. I thought I needed a drip but he prescribed rehydration salts and it did the trick hours later but I’m still shaky today.

And yes I was just able to see a Dr immediately as our government health service is very different to the UK.

I will probably never drink again let alone not drink whilst on Mounjaro.

I've gone for it - it seems like the best option otherwise. I feel less sensitive about the GP knowing now than I did a month ago. We have a randomly allocated GP so I selected the one who's nicest and most pragmatic when I had to choose a name. Not the judgey (thin) one.

Oh goodness August crew. I’ve been awake every two hours with explosive watery 💩 and I feel worn out and weak 😢I ate a bag of chocolate buttons at about 3.30pm. I just wanted the sugar and the comfort (old habits). By 7.30pm I was contorting in pain and then it started. I’m away at an event for work and delivering a presentation today. Is Imodium the solution this morning? Lesson well and truly learned.

Oh no! Make sure you drink extra water if taking Immodium. Hope you feel better by now.

weaseleyes · 17/09/2024 10:14

Am hoping @MidLifeResurgence74 survives her presentation! I think sometimes it's just the shock of eating something different when you've been eating more narrowly that sets this kind of thing off.

Am horrified that one glass of wine could create a hangover so bad it required medical attention @AnnieMcFanny! It seems to be one of the very variable effects of MJ. I've seen some people post that it's cured their hangovers, and others groaning piteously, but yours seems the worst. I don't drink often, but I've had a couple of drinks on MJ, more in a spirit of inquiry so that I would know if it were possible or not than anything else. I managed a glass of wine once and two beers the other time without terrible after effects, but I don't feel particularly drawn to repeat the experiment, which is good I think.

WitchDancer · 17/09/2024 10:39

@MidLifeResurgence74 I hope you manage to get through your presentation ok.

I'm feeling really bleugh today but thankfully no sulphur burps yet today. Instead I've got a major headache and the runs. I've stayed in bed to try and sleep the headache off but no joy as I keep waking for the loo.

I hope it's all worthwhile - new scales arrive today.

I don't eat much more than 800 calories a day - between 800 and 1000 usually. That's not because I am bird like, but because bitter experience has shown me that's the only way I lose weight. If I eat more than 1000-1200 regularly, I gain steadily. I think I've just been on so many diets over the years that this is where I am. It's one reason I'm trying MJ. It's hard sticking to so little, and I hope if I can actually get to a healthy BMI instead of stopping short because I'm fed up, then my body's set point might shift a little. I'm mainly assuming that if I reach my goal then I might be able to eat say 1200 without gaining, but I'm well aware it might be less.

It's really frustrating because people always assume you're secretly eating more. My huge binges tend to be going crazy and eating about 1500 calories! I feel I ought to be eating more to justify the self-loathing I subject myself to. Eating low calories but too many refined carbs also keeps my weight on. The other annoyance is when people say, 'Oh, you're not eating enough, your body's in starvation mode'. Well, I've tried every level of calorie intake a million times, and unfortunately upping the calories a bit really doesn't work (for me, anyway - this may well apply to others). I walk a lot and I hope that when I weigh less I'll be able to exercise even more and that this might shift my metabolism a bit. My blood sugar tends to be a bit high, though not to a concerning level, and I've noticed it's lower on MJ, so I help that will help too.

Completly get this..I am the same. 5 foot (although doctor recently measured and I have lost an inch), age 68, dieted on and off all my life. Been 7 stone 12 ( when Iwas 21) and over 14 stone. Last 4 years have gone from 9 stone 4 to 11 stone gradually. This time last year was 10 stone and it crept up again. What a relief to be on MJ...it's just so hard staying between 800 - 1000 cals a day but now I can do it and I track everything on MFP. Friday will be week 4. Week 2 and 3 I was away on holiday but managed to lose. Total loss 5 5 pounds in 3 weeks. Not expecting to lose more than 1 - 2 pounds a week. Target 9 stone but top of my recommended BMI weight is 8 stone 12! My maintenance calories are no more than 1400. I exercise regularly but mainly walking ..need to add in some strength training. Good luck to all

CremeDeSudo · 17/09/2024 11:13

Just dropping in to report I've hit the stone lost mark 😁 it'll be 6wks on MJ tomorrow. So bloody chuffed! I want to lose another 0.5 to 1 stone.

Drs appt tmw re anxiety but I don't think it's the MJ, I think it's just life!

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/09/2024 11:19

7.5 has arrived. Al nice and cold

Not sure what to eat for lunch after being sick after fruit for breakfast

AnnieMcFanny · 17/09/2024 12:07

I felt so unwell. I’m not a regular drinker but I was given a bottle of wine as a present all the way from Italy and I’m also thinking as well as it being the Mounjaro it may also have been the wine. Maybe I have a bit of an allergy to that particular one.

I have a long flight ahead of me tomorrow and part
of my trip to the Dr was to get me feeling more human to be able to do the journey. I was hoping for a drip 🤣🤣🤣 but the rehydration drink worked well.

Like you - I’m not going to repeat the experience either. 🙈

MissFancyDay · 17/09/2024 12:10

@AnnieMcFanny How awful for you, why does it affect all of us so differently? I've had wine but with nowhere near that reaction, just a little queasy the next morning. I will certainly be careful going up the doses. To be honest I wouldn't miss it.

MissFancyDay · 17/09/2024 12:16

@MidLifeResurgence74 wishing you a speedy recovery, I wasn't expecting this side of MJ being punished when we are naughty.

Always the thin ones who are the most judgey! I was literally told to eat less, do more by my Dr (couldn't do more as I have developed arthritis in my knee and have damaged it, so I need to build up the muscle again slowly). I told him Slimming World no longer worked for me - thanks, perimenopause - so what does he do but refer me to the NHS weight management that uses Slimming World 🙄ya can't make it up!

So I am a bit annoyed that he will know when the MedExpress letter comes through, as he will comment and judge me, but I see the logic. I went to see a private Meno Dr who was brilliant, but my Dr was so p**d at me until I asked him if he had an hour to talk through my full medical history and through options like she did - shut up then 😁Keep up the effort x

PineappleCoconut · 17/09/2024 12:26

I’m still here plodding along slowly, 4-4.5kg lost, it was more yesterday, less today. Thanks to perimenopause I’ve just had my first period in 3 months so I’m blaming that, not the burger I had yesterday ;)

Should be taking my 2.5 bonus dose today, but I feel so awful the day after and I’m dropping child at uni tomorrow with a long drive, I’m putting it off until tomorrow evening, then re-ordering my first 5.

Aside from the day after jab sickness, and heartburn, I’ve been feeling mostly ok, unless I eat too much.
Would like the kg to move faster but I can’t complain at 4kg gone. Many more to go

Princessandthepie · 17/09/2024 14:47

@MidLifeResurgence74 you poor thing!! I really hope you're OK!

@AnnieMcFanny I'm horrified that 1 glass of wine would cause such a reaction! Wine is certainly staying off my shopping list! 😱

AnnieMcFanny · 17/09/2024 15:01

@Princessandthepie hi there, for years I couldn’t drink red wine because it would give me a migraine. But one day I realised the look of a friends glass of wine hadn’t given me the boak the way it would normally so i tried it and now when I very rarely do have a drink it’s red wine.

So of course now, after what happened, it’s got me thinking

MidLifeResurgence74 · 17/09/2024 16:19

You are all so lovely to check in! I managed the presentation between dashing to the loo. I’ve taken all 6 of the Imodium melts but still it keeps coming 😬😬 surely it can’t just be down to some chocolate 24 hours ago?

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/09/2024 16:26

Glad wok went well

Guess only way to text or is to have chocolate again maybe Fri or sat so can recover sat or sun

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/09/2024 16:29

@doodles55 not sure what dose you are on but guessing if 5th week you started end of aug so still on 2.5

I feel like you do on 5

No real suppression for me and feel hungry and sts last week even tho was good food wise

I don't expect to lose 4/5lbs every week but I do expect 1/2 ideally

I got to 7.5 in 2w

I shall jab my last 5 - then attempt bonus dose to get me up towards 7.5. I think
