Starting Mounjaro today!

alinetokill · 07/09/2024 17:44

Myself and my husband have started Mounjaro today.
Making this thread incase anyone wants to join us as new starters today.
Me: 5ft 3 16st 3lb goal weight: 9.8
Husband: 6ft 3, 18st 3, goal weight: 12st
We are really hoping to see a good loss at the beginning, and interested to see what happens to us side effect wise.
Usually when one or other of us is on a diet we end up derailing each other, but we've decided to do this together.
Stocked up on protein shakes, loperamide, anti sickness and gaviscon in case of side effects!

first time using this think posted elsewhere first !
Tried everything, had a PT, was on calorie counting etc didn’t seem to do anything and have now gained more weight. I have taken the plunge and just had first 2.5 dose Mounjaro feeling positive and already feel like don’t want much of an evening meal. I am going back to the gym Monday though as think that will help and want to get into good habits so can maintain weight loss when no longer on it. That’s the ultimate goal right ?
well done and it is great you can support each other as a couple together.
I am 14st 1 5.5 so hoping to get to 12st would be happy to get to 11, but 2 stone would be awesome to be healthier 😀

Hello!
I will carry on posting to how I get on.
Husband just brought some biscuits in with a cuppa and I said "no thanks!" 😂
How often are you going to weigh? I'm thinking once a week on Sunday morning!

Hi I started today

SW 13st 6
GW 10st

Injected first thing this morning and waited until dinner time to eat as DH was doing a BBQ, the food completely turned me, I really didn’t want to eat but I did. Honestly never had that feeling before except when I was pregnant and went completely off meat.

Hopefully this is the kick I need.

WeAllHaveWings · 07/09/2024 22:20

Not sure if you have seen it, there is a weight loss injections topic where you'll find lots of other users, advice and monthly starters threads etc

GingerLiberalFeminist · 07/09/2024 22:23

I start next week when it gets delivered so watching eagerly!

Well done, that’s a good sign mine brought in crops and chocolate and I can honestly say I didn’t fancy any. I left quite a bit of our sat night takeaway too. Great to feel like don’t need to snack more after a meal. Thinking weighing once a week maybe a Sat morning as do the I je Tui Sat afternoon. Not going to do more often as become obsessed and disheartened if don’t see results so thinking weekly enough.

loveulotslikejellytots · 07/09/2024 22:29

Mine came yesterday. Really hoping to see some results fairly quickly. I think I'm going to struggle to afford more than 2 months worth, but if it's really good I will have to really make an effort with the Vinted/ebay selling 😂

SW 22st 3lbs 😳
Goal - ideally I'd like to be about 11/12 stone but I've set myself an interim goal of 19 stone. It's out of the 20's (which I'm disgusted by).

thats great, bet you feeling like that was a big win !

DollyPop100 · 07/09/2024 22:32

Yes Think it good to set interim goal, easier to achieve in small steps.

autumngirl10 · 07/09/2024 22:34

I have found it amazing, not having to deal with the daily battle of thinking about food has made such a difference to my mental health.

I have a £40 off code for medexpress if anybody wants it for their first order

Don't feel disgusted, there is so so much worse things to be than fat.
You could be cruel, selfish and ungrateful.
Fat can be changed, lovely personality is inherent.

Would love to know exactly how much it costs monthly? And how long you plan to be on it op?
good luck with it!

Bs0u416d · 07/09/2024 23:01

I'm nine weeks in and 14kg down. Best thing I've ever done for myself!! It's not a magic pill, you need to make good choices but the MJ bakes it a breeze! No side affects here either!

Well.. i paid £317 for 4 weeks of 2.5 and 4 weeks of 5mg.
I think I'll probably always need to be on it, but my feeling is probably by the time I get to maintenance (end of Jan) I'll be in good habits. I need to lose some serious weight before I can do any exercise (at the moment I couldn't run for a bus!) Then I plan to take a maintenance dose every two weeks or so to keep me on the straight and narrow, as far as I'm concerned I'll take the medication for as long as I need to to reap the health benefits of being slim. ☺️☺️

I'm hoping to have good effects from it, I was seriously considering a gastric sleeve!

I’m half way through month three and I have lost 2.5 stone. It’s honestly been life altering.

DollyPop100 · 07/09/2024 23:25

Sounds like some amazing results, can anyway advise on what they have been eating ?

DollyPop100 · 07/09/2024 23:27

Wanted to ask too has anyone been on 2.5 then continued for longer than 4 weeks on that dose ? and have you had any issues ordering 5mg dose re any stock issues ?

Nothing for breakfast but I never have. Cottage cheese for lunch and then a normal dinner, something like chorizo stew, roast chicken with salad, Thai green curry. The appetite suppression worked very well for me so portions for dinner have natural decreased. The biggest difference is I've been able to completely cut out the crap outside of meals.

coolcahuna · 08/09/2024 07:33

Can I join you. I started on Wednesday and it's totally amazing. All the food noise and hunger has totally gone. I've cut right back on my portions and no snacks at all. I've dropped 4lb already this week. Started tracking calories, max 1200 a day.
I tried saxenda last year which also worked until supplies ran out. But with that one you had to inject daily and it made me feel quite nauseous.

Totally game changer.
