I've just started this morning after months of research. Feeling nervous but excited. Any other new or existing users want to join support and share successes?

This is just weird stuff isn't it? Had a small salad with leftover gammon and cottage cheese for tea. Couldn't eat it all.

Had baked an apple and bramble crumble for OH and the kids. Ended up going to iron school shirts for an hour, then thought I'd have a little bowl of crumble. Two teaspoons and I was done.

It's the strangest feeling!

I’m back to school tomorrow so hopefully I’ll continue with little to no side effects! I had a sore neck too but didn’t associate with mounjaro, but nothing else really. Just feel a little bit bloated after eating.
I am also on HRT, and hobble around with sore joints so am hoping the jab/ weight loss will have an impact there too.
@Justasmallgless will weight loss help reverse the sleep apnea? I know I snore quite a lot since being over weight.

Well I have been informed by sleep clinic that losing weight as well as not drinking alcohol and changing sleep position will help as it's moderate, rather than severe.

I can't tell you how embarrassing I find it.

Justasmallgless · 02/09/2024 21:12

This seems like a great group of like minded people who can go on this MJ journey together.
I have managed to get 2.5l of water down me
Yogurt and berries for brekkie,
Tuna salad with small amount of orzo no dressing
Melon
2 x boiled eggs
Chicken tikka dry fried with peppers and onions and pitta bread with mixed salad

I'm having usual multivitamins, magnesium, and vit D as well as being on HRT.

The "green juice" craze that everyone talks about - has anyone else stocked up on it?
I also need to get some collagen powder

poppy80 · 03/09/2024 05:34

How are you all feeling? Any side effects? I had a couple of horrible dizzy spells yesterday at work when I moved my head to look down. Apart from that, I've felt fine.

I didn't have any interest in eating yesterday, not even my usual cups of tea. However, I was out for a meal in the evening and still managed to eat quite a lot. I'm not sure if it's fully working for me yet?

Have a good day and looking forward to hearing progress stories.

Sneaky midweek weigh in here and no change on the scales. I have probably halved my usual wine intake so hopefully will cut down more and show soon. No side effects luckily.

Forevermermaid · 03/09/2024 07:24

First weigh in today - 4lb off! Very pleased with that especially as haven't really experienced much suppression yet.

But I do feel super motivated, enjoying using Noom to record food etc and can't wait to go up to 5mg on MJ to hopefully really start noticing it 🤩

Will shortly be taking the second jab this morning, first it's time to get the kids back to school!

SW: 18st
CW: 17st 10lb
GW: 11st

I usually drink about 6 cups of decaf coffee each day, yesterday I had 1..just didn't fancy it.

Feeling full still, was up a couple of times for a pee through the night but that will be due to all the water.

Bowels feel sluggish already.

Justasmallgless · 03/09/2024 09:04

Well done @Forevermermaid that's a great start Smile

It's a weird feeling as my brain is telling me I should be eating but my body really doesn't want any at the minute. I've had a pint of water and two decaff coffees (started work at 7am)

Thelastdietever · 03/09/2024 09:14

Got bit of reflux this morning no acid and a little nausea everything else ok

MrsEmilyGilmore · 03/09/2024 09:17

Yesterday was my day 1 (injected Sunday night). Felt sick all morning and had to force down a small lunch.
Was much better by the evening but had a headache - assuming I didn't drink enough.

This morning I woke feeling thirsty so drinking water and have eaten a plum and apple (out of necessity to take meds, no hunger whatsoever).

Very strange feeling having no 'food noise' in my head Confused

simb · 03/09/2024 09:28

I had a horrid experience last night - has anyone experienced similar?

I woke up suddenly with palpitations/racing heart. Then that calmed down and I lay back down but then got a very sudden wave of nausea. I got up and felt terribly faint, clammy and nauseous. That eventually passed and I wasn't actually sick. Feeling better this morning although I can tell I'm not right.

Does this sound like low blood sugar? I ate just under 1200 calories that day but my partner wonders whether my body is just dealing with getting used to having less accessible sugar to what it's used to.

I'm 24 hours behind you, I think (first injection yesterday morning). 28 hours on and I've got a red, bruised patch where I injected, but it's less itchy and sore now. Not sure whether it's placebo or not but I had a small bowl of muesli for breakfast and I can't face lunch, feels like I've got rocks in my stomach!

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 03/09/2024 13:00

Just injected. Feeling very nervous.

Me too! I found doing the actual injection quite easy, numerous IVF cycles got me very used to injecting myself but I was incredibly nervous about this one! Just sitting with a cup of coffee and a banana now and hoping for a good week with no side effects

Hi all. My first pen has just been delivered. The amount of side effects makes me feel quite nervous. Has anyone found whether injecting morning or evening results in less side effects?

I was thinking just before bed as I heard them you sleep through any initial nausea. Also am unsure where to inject - apparently thigh means less side effects?

LucyBnotG · 03/09/2024 15:59

Hello. I started on MJ 6/7 weeks ago. I'm not sure if this has been answered elsewhere so apologies if it's a repeat.

Does this medication need to be declared on Travel Insurance policies? I want to make sure that everything is above board before I book any future holidays.

Has anyone found it caused an increase in premiums?

I read that thigh has fewer side effects too so I've been alternating thighs. Because my side effects have been manageable I'm reluctant to try my stomach. Perhaps it's purely anecdotal though and I will find stomach injections just as manageable.

Elephantino · 03/09/2024 17:34

Does anyone have an ache across their shoulder blades? I read it on a FB group it can last up to 48 hours, it's just making me feel a bit tired/achey.

Still feeling appetite suppression with no desire to drink coffee still. Enjoying normal food just a lot less of it.

Is this because you feel you don't want to drink

Good question. I still fancy wine but I’d usually find it hard to stop at a couple. Though not sure if I am slightly scared of feeling ill if I drink too much (ie my usual amount) so could be psychological?

MetabolismLost · 03/09/2024 18:53

Just had notification that my order is on the way and will be delivered tomorrow. No going back now!

Arlanymor · 03/09/2024 19:40

Thanks to everyone for keeping this going! Had intended to post a 'tomorrow is day one!' post but my delivery has been delayed and now my dad is descending on me for one night on Friday until Saturday lunch time. So I am starting on Saturday night now instead. Planning to inject into thigh and have a hot water bottle on standby in the event of chills or aches as some others have reported.

I've also stocked up on Cup-a-Soups, coconut water, lactose-free milk and Immodium! I have magnesium due to peri anyway and am planning to have muesli mid-morning each day (I am not usually a breakfast person, but a big lunch person) and see how long that will keep me going through the day.

I do like a glass of wine, so hoping this will also curb some of that, I've invested in an electric milk frother (thank you Aldi middle aisle!) and am planning to make myself a London Fog here and there if I feel the need for a treat. Essentially Earl Grey with a dash of vanilla, frothy milk and some lavender on top.

So fully prepped, just need my pens to arrive and my dad to come and go!

StressedAndDepressed1 · 03/09/2024 20:18

I have just ordered.

Does Zava "processing" mean it has been approved?

WouldYouLikeMeToSpellThatForYou · 03/09/2024 20:20

1st injection done! 💉
Think it's psychosomatic but I feel like my stomach is heavier? I'm also due on though so it's probably that as it's only been 20 minutes!
