I've just started this morning after months of research. Feeling nervous but excited. Any other new or existing users want to join support and share successes?

About this bonus dose - am I looking for pen needles to hard twist or insulin needles for extraction? Any help would be appreciated

I wondered this too

Afternoon!

I've spent some time this morning looking at apps like MFP that I used years ago and was surprised to see I had weights logged back to 2012.. 12 years wow. That's gone fast.

I was able to see my lowest weight compared to my highest and also saw a pattern of weight gain from when I first started medication for my mental health.

My lowest weight was 79.4kg/175lb/12st 7lb on the 12/06/2013.

My highest weight was 136.6kg/300lb/21st 6lb on 09/05/2023.

So in 10 years I've put on near enough 57kg/126lb/9st..

I'm shocked and quite upset at that.

As I said above, a lot of the weight is due to some of my medication. If I were to stop this, it would jeopardise my mental health. The pros outweigh the cons. It's given me food for thought though.

Anyhow, as of today, I now weigh the lightest I've been in 2 years 4 months (122kg).

My next goal is to get to 118kg- last time I was that weight was October 2021 at my friend's wedding.

Baby steps..

alwaysscared · 19/09/2024 17:14

Had a, urm, clear out last night after senokot. Turns out I was full of shit, 4lbs lighter today!!
9lbs off in just under 2 weeks, official weigh in tomorrow before 3rd jab

alwaysscared · 19/09/2024 17:18

@Doobi my weight gain is all down to mental health meds, have gained about 5 stone since I started taking them 18 years ago. Have had many changes in medication over the years which just led to more weight gain. But, I need to be on them for my mental health, which is just as important as physical health

I'm in the same boat with the meds, on olanzapine. I get it.

Thelastdietever · 19/09/2024 18:05

Due week 4 jab tomorrow only gone and caught COVID for the first time and I’ve worked in with covid the last 4 years. Think I’m going to see how I feel tomorrow before I take the injection. My research has mixed opinions of whether to take or leave for a few days.

caffelattetogo · 19/09/2024 18:41

I keep thinking "is this what it's like for normal people to not want to eat ALL the time?".

spinningisthebest · 19/09/2024 18:52

I downloaded me360 and scanned myself as an incentive for when motivation slips. Nothing like seeing yourself in full blobby glory.

I did that a few months ago, then swiftly deleted it, there's only so much reality a person can cope with 😂

You remember the future alien guys in Bill and Ted, that's my body shape apparently.

Day 8 for me today and woke up this morning to my period coming 9 days early and have had no appetite all day despite not taking my jab yesterday. Managed to eat an egg on toast at about 1pm and then a few crisps since.. not healthy I know but all I could tolerate. I do sometimes lose my appetite first day of my period so suspect it’s this rather than MJ. Have just injected dose 2 and really hoping not to have too many side effects tomorrow!

I hope my periods settle down.. I’ve read that MJ can disrupt them and that people were getting really painful cramps so keeping my fingers crossed to avoid that.

Olanzapine, the dreaded weight gain. I've been on/off since 2017. Mostly on. Pretty much 5-6 stone gained

OldKnees · 19/09/2024 19:11

My period also came early, and I wondered if there was a connection.

Out of interest do you find it has helped with the food cravings caused by olanzapine? I think it has, so far, it is early days for me. My GP was positive, said they hoped to be able to prescribe it to me on the NHS in future if needed.

Orangesandlemons77 · 19/09/2024 19:30

I have gone from BMI 27 to BMI 40 on olanzapine

mimosa1 · 19/09/2024 19:32

@raspberrymeringue thanks for this. I felt v cold as well, and wasn't doing little and often in terms of meals so will take that on board.

On the plus side I've lost 3kg but that's because I had the most hideous d and v...

Does anyone else find their nausea is worse in the evenings? That's when appetite suppression and queasiness is highest for me. It all seems so odd - surely you should feel worse right after taking the dose and it should wear off gradually but it doesn't seem to be that way in practice at all.

Orangesandlemons77 · 19/09/2024 19:55

Could it be because of having a main meal in the evenings, the nausea I mean?

raspberrymeringue · 19/09/2024 20:28

@mimosa1 I haven't really suffered any nausea or D&V so I cant advise on that. Sure someone will be along shortly with some advice.

SpiderMother · 19/09/2024 20:43

I'm about to do my third jab. This week I was on a city break for 4 days which was a huge challenge. I tried to be sensible but not at the expense of not having dinners out. I also did LOADS of walking. Really thrilled that I still lost nearly 2 pounds this week because its helped me to feel this is something that I can sustain long term. This week's stats:

Height.- 5 ft 2
1/9/24 - 12 stone 3.7 (weight when registered - pm and after meal out)
5/9/24 - 11 stone 11.7 (1st injection - 2.5)
12/9/24 - 11 stone 7.1 (2nd injection - 2.5)
19/9/24 - 11 stone 5.5 (3rd injection - 2.5)
Week 2 loss - 1.6 lbs
Loss to date - 12.2lbs
Goal - 9 stone 7

doodleschnoodle · 19/09/2024 21:54

I don't have any nausea but have had some the other end, but Imodium takes care of it and it's only in the couple of days after a jab, so I know it's coming now and can pre-empt.

Maybe try cyclizine or something? You can get OTC. It's likely just your body adjusting though and won't be like this forever.

Yes I think it has in some ways, better on the 5mg now and feeling more suppression.

It just worries me when I come off this, will I put some back on.. especially if I want to start TTC/fall pregnant.

Latelifelesbian · 20/09/2024 05:30

Woke at 5am with awful diarrhoea on day 3 since first dose. Please tell me this gets better?! 🤣🙈

Sadteacher · 20/09/2024 06:54

@Thelastdietever hope you don’t feel too poorly, there is a lot around again.

Week 3 weigh in for me
sw 12.7
cw 12.1
gw 9.7

Steady and pretty effortless so far. Feeling pretty normal on it. Last 2.5 tonight and I have the 5 pen ready for next week.

Sadteacher · 20/09/2024 06:56

@Latelifelesbian oh no… this is always my fear. It isn’t easy to run out of a class of children to go to the loo! I wonder if it is the type of food that triggers it, what did you have last night? Hope you’re ok.

SacreBleugh · 20/09/2024 07:12

Has anyone noticed an increased sense of smell as a side effect?

I'm at the beginning of week 2 on 2.5. Lost 3lbs in week one.
