Week one day 3 and I feel AWFUL - dreadful d&v and have had to cancel really important work meetings today. Can't understand why it's got bad after the first 2 days being fine. I çant think I've eaten anything that would give rise to food poisoning so I think it's MJ, and the Voy app tells me it's normal and tends to settle in 1-2 weeks. I honestly don't think I can cope for that long.

@FearNotSheHathRisen I'm in a aimait dilemma with a work trip mon - Fri next week. I am going to delay my dose but I have had side effects which I think you haven't, so you might be fine.

Day 1 for me after taking my 1st jab before bed. No noticeable side effects so far, but also not sure it has had a noticeable impact on my appetite. I have eaten well today but feel like it is more down to the motivation that comes with spending lots of money on a weight loss solution, rather than actual appetite suppression.

SW: 12st 2lbs
GW: 9st or thereabouts

I'm day 3 and also not sure if it's working. I have been very good with my meals, drinking plenty of water and exercise but I can't say I've noticed the difference in how I feel.

@mimosa1 I had an easy ride in week one but have been hit with loads of sides in week 2. I agree, working when you feel so lousy is a problem that I hadn't factored in.

@FearNotSheHathRisen -. Thanks. Reading everyone's stories and weight loss successes is very inspiring and I will definitely be leaning on the wisdom of this group over months ahead!!
I think I'd be inclined to delay your Sunday jab to Tuesday if you haven't had many side effects, to save the faff of having to bring it abroad?

I'm on week 1, day 2 and thought it was working yesterday but now feel a bit hungry and just had some (quite healthy) biscuits with my coffee...wonder if it's because I need a higher dose due to being pretty big (BMI 40) does it work like that, the fatter the more you need? I don't know..

Also had a headache since started which does not seem to have gone with co-codomol and drinking lots :-( Feel slightly low ion mood also. I hope to persevere and not have to stop, maybe things will settle with time?

@Orangesandlemons77 I've read many of the threads on MN and seen that sensitivity seems to vary hugely. I've not heard that it's related to BMI though. It might take a while to kick in or you might need to wait until the dose increases for it to work. I have a friend and 2.5mg did nothing for her, but 5mg is.

Thanks for the opinions, seems there is a real mix of tracking/not tracking/only tracking macros.

I decided to track today both calories and macros today as I think that I probably eat more than I think I do. That programme secret eaters would probably do me some good for a wake up call!
Overall I want to just drop the unhealthy habits. For me it’s constantly wanting/needing something sweet after every meal, always wanting a treat for the journey home, mindlessly eating when bored and eating one ‘bad’ thing and writing the whole day off. I’m really hoping that Mounjaro helps with all of this and in turn I should be spending less money on constantly popping into shops for chocolate/Diet Coke/whatever treat I fancy.

I think I’ve decided to delay jab 2 until tomorrow. I have a busy day at work tomorrow and whilst I’m wfh it’s still a lot if I’m feeling rubbish so might delay the dose until tomorrow when I finish work and just hope I don’t feel too rough on Friday when I have my toddler to look after.. also interesting to read that people have had worse side effects on week two as I hadn’t factored that in as a potential.

@suze12 I track everything in MyFitnessPal.

My big problem is drinking my calories mindlessly in the form of iced lattes.

If I didn't keep track of them then I could easily drink 12-15 a day, I just refill my glass every time I get up, I bloody love iced lattes and I have no effect from caffeine so don't feel a need to stop because of being jittery or not sleeping.

Problem is they're about 100 calories each using skimmed milk and they rack up carb intake.

So I have to limit myself to a maximum of 3 a day.

@FearNotSheHathRisen I think I would take it with me and stay consistent. That way any side effects would hopefully be over with in time for the next trip. But will you have access to a fridge? If not then I think I'd delay until Tuesday. I don't think I would skip the dose entirely, in order to stay on track.

Afternoon,

I've been working out where I am at with some goals.

I started out with a BMI of 52.7, weighing at 129.9kg.

As of today, I weigh 122.6kg and have a BMI of 49.7.

I'm more then happy with this and even though my BMI is still classed as very high/severely obese, it spurs me on even more.

I've decided on my first goal weight and have made a list of mini ways I might reach these, to keep me motivated. I.e.

  • 1st 10% weight loss
  • 1st stone loss
  • Every 7lb loss (financial incentive here to save up for something I'd like)

Those are just some of the things I have set out to do. It helps by keeping a record and seeing things in different ways rather then focusing on just a number.

24 hours since my first jab and I have awful sulphur tasting burps today - is this a side effect?? Will it likely settle.
I am currently 5”5 and 17 stone so have a lot to loose. I have pics and health/mobility issues so loosing weight has always been a struggle. Really hoping this will help get my body to reduce some weight. I tend to eat fairly healthily anyway but clearly too many calories to loose weight.

Has anyone’s suppression changed. I did injection 3 last night. After the last 2 I struggled to eat at all. Today I have been hungry at meal times, but then can only eat a very small portion. I prefer this type of suppression, as I am looking forward to my meals, but wondered if it was usual for it to change and wether it might go between the two.

Still no urge to snack though which is good.

So far magnetic taste in mouth. Now have the pre dinner munchies but I've not broken into the biscuit tin so I'll take that as a win.

Yes this is definitely my experience now I'm in week 3 (day 3). I'm hungrier this week but still controlling the snacking which is great - it's exactly the muscle I want to practise using. I've no interest in my appetite being completely suppressed. Tonight I was hungry before dinner but then full quickly and so I've saved the other half of dinner for later on. I'll still be well within my calorie goal for the day. I'm wavering as to whether I'll do 2.5 or 5 for my next order, but I'm leaning towards 2.5. Currently 11st 11lbs (starting weight 12st 5lbs). I'm short so my goal is in the low 9 stones.

Hey @mimosa1 I had the same, not nausea but diarrhoea on days 3-6 of my first week. It’s was definitely MJ as I was fine otherwise. I had to take time off work too. So I thought about my options and decided to go with 1.25 on my second dose, that was 30 clicks. I’ve been fine on that and am on day 4, no side effects but sulphur burps (nice) for one day. Supression is there but there’s a food hum instead of food noise. I’m thinking more about food but very satisfied on 1200 a day, could probably do 800 but I don’t want to be that low. I plan to do 1.25 on dose 3 again, I can’t risk being that unwell again as I don’t work from home.

I read this and had to double check I hadn't sleep posted somehow. These are exactly the habits I want to break! Hope we both manage.
I'm on d5 post my first injection of 2.5 and the suppression is easing a bit so I can now easily eat 900-1000 calories rather than forcing them down. Still no urge to snack or eat sweet treats and I'm satisfied at the end of my meal. It's amazing. I've never felt like this about food.

@Rubberducksallround you are my double, height and weight. I weighed in at 12.1 this morning. I’ve had 3 jabs.
When I started I thought I’d be happy with 5 pens and half a stone off with each one, so I’m on track for that. It is hard when people have bigger losses but we will all reach the same point at the end. I don’t have any side effects.
Ordered the 5 pen yesterday and arrived today, impressed with Medexpress so far., the ice packs were still frozen solid.

Yes, this suppression is much better and chance to practice the good habits I want to take forward.

I have the same dilemma. Stay on 2.5 or go up. Still not sure yet.

For me it isn't an issue per se, just seems sensible for me to keep to a lower dose with barely any side effects as long as it's working. I'll wait to go up to 5 when I need the higher dose. I think it's different for everyone x

Thanks @Seldomseenkid that's actually a really sensible compromise. I'm going to do 1.75g next week as well so hopefully I don't have to go through the whole horror from scratch again.

I’ve had that weird taste in mouth, along with the odd tight/full feeling in my stomach it feels just like I felt when I was just pregnant!

I’m in week 2, day 5 and have lost 9lb. Eating three small meals a day, no desire to snack, reduced coffee desire, more energy, sleep is a bit crap, but generally I feel calm and less anxious and just a bit “peppy”.
