Guys, a reminder to measure yourselves too! If you’re not seeing much loss you still might be pleasantly surprised.

poppym12 · 27/08/2024 09:32

I did jab 3 on Sunday. 11lb down since I started. I haven't really felt any appetite suppression since after the first week but I'm calorie counting and eating much better.

I'm thinking about changing from Voy for my next pen but I like that Voy haven't insisted on telling my GP (I'm in the process of moving and trying to find a new one to register with which is proving quite challenging).

Do all other suppliers notify your GP directly? I'd like to be able to choose to do so when I'm registered with a new one.

Also, the weekly WhatsApp messages from my coach are pretty useless and I understand that they have a lot of patients but there's no flow at all. When I message back, I can be waiting 5+ Hours for a response by which time, the moment has passed and the check in has dwindled.

pippapumpkin · 27/08/2024 09:44

Took my fourth dose on Sunday night, I decided to go up to 5mg so my new pen is on the way, but I might try and get the bonus dose first.

This past few days I’ve been losing and gaining the same kilo. One day I’m 106.3 the next 107.5, then back down to 106.5 etc. it’s doing my head in! Like realistically I know I am losing because how could I not be when I’m eating probably a third of what I used to. I am due on my period so hoping it’s to do with that but I don’t typically weigh myself if I’m not trying to lose weight so don’t know if that’s normal for me.

Still finding the lack of food noise life changing. Never want that to end!

I ordered with MedExpress on Saturday, they dispatched yesterday and it’s arriving today, so seems they have sped things up? I know people were having delays with them recently.

Pinkjenny · 27/08/2024 09:44

What does everyone recommend for constipation? I have Dulcolax, I'm going to try that tonight. I'm drinking gallons of water, taking my electrolytes and my digestive enzyme, but I've not really been the loo since I started on Saturday.

PineappleCoconut · 27/08/2024 09:44

Week 1 done & 5lbs down

it was fine apart from day 2 muscle aches, which I’m hoping don’t happen again.
And day 4/5 stomach pain from drinking too much when out Friday night - it was mostly Diet Coke, but still too much.

Roll on week 2

FlappingMadly · 27/08/2024 09:47

Regarding constipation I haven’t had any yet. I add fruit to my morning protein smoothie and have veg with protein for evening meal.

Timetochange24 · 27/08/2024 09:56

I haven't had any contact from my Voy coach yet. I think she might be on holiday but it's disappointing there's nothing to fill the gap.

Just updating on experience so far as it was so helpful reading earlier posts when I was thinking about signing up. I took my first dose on Saturday and no unpleasant side effects so far. Food noise has been completely muted and it's wonderful. I unpacked the food shopping/dc's snacks yesterday and wasn't tempted in the slightest. My dh doesn't snack and I've always wondered what goes through his brain when he makes a coffee and doesn't automatically need a biscuit with it - now I've finally found out!!

Can't say I've noticed much appetite suppression. As I've got hungrier towards meal times it's felt like my body is managing it by drawing on its (plentiful!) energy reserves. Previously when I've tried to lose weight I've struggled with low blood sugar which sets off other problems and makes dieting very slow/hard to sustain.

happygertie · 27/08/2024 10:00

@poppym12 I am with cloud pharmacy and you can tick a box to say don't inform GP and then you just have to tick a box to agree that should you require treatment from your doctor that you will inform them about MJ

poppym12 · 27/08/2024 10:02

Thanks @happygertie

Senna tablets, 2 - 4 at night.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/08/2024 10:27

@pippapumpkin try and not weigh daily. You will go up and down

Try to do once a week the day you jab

Pinkjenny · 27/08/2024 10:35

Thanks for all the constipation advice. I'm eating some fruit now to try and get things moving, just waiting for a new blender and then plan to be eating protein smoothies for breakfast which will hopefully help.

I think what has been life changing for me, you know, 4 days in Blush is that normally I am a big on self sabotage. With this, I've injected, it stops the food noise and suppresses my appetite (to a degree, I don't feel horribly full or anything when I do eat), but what it has done for me, is remove the choice to eat a load of crap and then start again on Monday, you've taken the injection and that's you for four weeks, like it or not. I've been yo-yoing for my entire adult life.

I am absolutely terrified it won't work, but I'm trying desperately to remember that this is a loading dose!

doodles55 · 27/08/2024 10:37

I had a watsapp from Voy , enquiring as to my experience 🙄
I’ve replied exactly what my experience is so far…
i won’t hold my breath
they still haven’t answered re sharps bin !!’

It's normal! Especially if you're due on. Weight fluctuates daily based on what you ate the day before, water retention, inflammation etc.

Personally I'm enjoying weighing daily when and although it does go up sometimes, the overall trend is down!

CremeDeSudo · 27/08/2024 10:56

Just mention to people who have had lower losses, when I've done Cambridge Diet (1-2-1 it's called now), I found the weeks when I didn't lose as much were weirdly the weeks my measurements reduced so make sure you're measuring too!

CremeDeSudo · 27/08/2024 10:57

How has everyone found drinking alcohol? I'm out on Sat for a friend's birthday, first time I will have drunk while on MJ and am nervous!

Plan is to just have a couple of glasses of wine because I'm a lightweight with wine anyway so should be plenty merry enough, but nervous of the hangover the following day 😬

CornishGem1975 · 27/08/2024 10:59

I haven't drank @CremeDeSudo as I don't want to go over my calories!

For those suffering with constipation, chia seeds are great and easy to incorperate into many foods/smoothies etc.

Info below taken from Healthline

The nutrients in 100 grams of chia seeds are:

  • Calories: 486
  • Water: 6%
  • Protein: 16.5 grams
  • Carbs: 42.1 grams
  • Sugar: 0 grams
  • Fiber: 34.4 grams
  • Fat: 30.7 grams
  • Saturated: 3.33 grams
  • Monounsaturated: 2.31 grams
  • Polyunsaturated: 23.67 grams
  • Omega-3: 17.83 grams
  • Omega-6: 5.84 grams
  • Trans: 0.14 grams
Chia seeds provide high amounts of many minerals but are a poor source of vitamins. The most abundant minerals are:
  • Manganese. Whole grains and seeds are rich in manganese, which is essential for metabolism, growth, and development
  • Phosphorus. Usually found in protein-rich foods, phosphorus contributes to bone health and tissue maintenance
  • Copper. A mineral often lacking in the modern diet, copper is important for heart health
  • Selenium. An important antioxidant, selenium is involved in many processes in your body
  • Iron. As a component of hemoglobin in red blood cells, iron is involved in the transport of oxygen throughout your body. It may be poorly absorbed from chia seeds due to their phytic acid content.
  • Magnesium. Often lacking in the Western diet, magnesium plays important roles in many bodily processes
  • Calcium. The most abundant mineral in your body, calcium is essential for bones, muscles, and nerves
Pinkjenny · 27/08/2024 11:46

Ooh I'll get some today, thank you!

poppym12 · 27/08/2024 11:55

I'm trying to cancel Voy to order my second pen elsewhere. I can't find out how to cancel it. I told my coach I was thinking of moving elsewhere and she just said Ok. No advice on what to do or asking why.

So, how do I cancel Voy?

Princessandthepie · 27/08/2024 12:00

The recommended daily allowance for chia seeds is around 2 tablespoons, which I do mix in with protein yoghurt and fruit.

Finally had some movement on the scales this morning, down to 14 stones and 10lbs.

Definitely not feeling so horribly bloated this morning which is nice and the Fybogel sachet has worked which I'm grateful for.

So if anyone has a cure for a stroppy 10 year old, I might actually have a nice day! 🤦‍♀️

You need to do it via the web, I don't think you can in app. Go to your plan, scroll down, there's an option to cancel plan

I haven't really altered my drinking habits, and haven't had any nasty effects but you do need to drink loads and loads of water to avoid dehydration.

poppym12 · 27/08/2024 12:09

Thanks @CremeDeSudo. Cancelled. Now to find another provider for 5mg.....

Princessandthepie · 27/08/2024 12:10

I've stayed off the alcohol as I wanted to give up anyway, I was drinking way too much.
I feel like I can't justify spending so much on this and then still drink the way I did and this has helped cut out the wine noise for me in the same way it's cut out food noise.

There's no inner turmoil, should I, shouldn't I? It's just a blanket no and im finding that very peaceful. I've only really fancied a glass of wine a couple of times and didn't give in because I'm now scared of the hangover! 🙈
