@AnnieMcFanny Choux actually said 50% of the drug is eliminated at 5 days.
See attached pic of the half life. You can google for one too to have a clearer image.

It's normal that the suppression is strongest at the beginning of the week and wears off as the 7 days goes on. Your body has eliminated 50% of the drug after 5 days.

I think of my calories as being 7-8,000 a week and not 1,000-1,200 a day. If I am eating around 7k calories over the week then the dose is ok. If i am struggling to keep the calories under 8k a week then I go up a dose. (I've never needed to think about dropping down a dose as have always eaten at least 7k over the week and not had digestive side effects).

I practice willpower / making good choices on days 5-7 in preparation for life without Mounjaro.

aww, good for you!! I practice willpower of course, but I’m under unusually high stress due to work. It’s a cycle of overeating due to work stress which led to my weight gain, so it’s hard to immediately break away from that. I’d love having more frequent injections but at lower doses!

I’ve been trying to snack on healthier things today to maintain my progress and control. Orange juice with bits is surprisingly filling. I also opened a box of mixed berries, but between the two I feel stuffed now and I didn’t have many berries!

I need to finish the berries today/tomorrow as best before date is tomorrow, so that’s probably a silver lining of having an appetite again!

My ankles are also looking thinner. In fact my legs generally are slimming down.

I'm really pleased about that because I used to have lovely legs (about twenty years ago). I have hated them getting fatter and fatter.

Oh that’s such good news! I hope you’re showing them off!

I am finding the appetite suppression is wearing off sooner than I would like - is this normal?

I took my 3rd dose last Thursday and had good appetite suppression until last night.
Since then, my appetite has pretty much returned. I’m not feeling as full as I felt after taking my 3rd dose when I eat too. So I feel like I’m in a bit of a predicament as I take my next injection on Thursday, so I’ve got 2.5 days to go without appetite suppression and I feel likely to overeat.

Is this a sign that I should move onto 5mg?

I was exactly the same. I've done my last 2.5 a day early today and next week I'll use the bonus as a stepping stone to the 5ml the week after.

AuntieDote · 26/08/2024 18:19

Balls I’ve ended up having another drink today - and I fancy one more with dinner too. I’m going to leave injecting for another day I think.

Im finding it fairly easy to remain in a slight calorie deficit even so (albeit I’ve increased my allowance slightly to 1500) - but I definitely need to get the jab in tomorrow! We’ll be staying in the apartment a bit more for meals for the rest of the week, for budget reasons if nothing else. We’ve had the most glorious day today though and the atmosphere where we are is just so great that I just fancied a drink! This is exactly what I was worried about starting before our holiday 🙈

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 26/08/2024 18:28

Jab three done, I've just hopped on the scales and bearing in mind that I've just got off a plane and eaten today, I'm only on 19st13.4!!!! That's only 2.4lbs up, so I'm thinking I may have actually lost some weight while I was on holiday!

AliBumbleBee · 26/08/2024 19:06

When ordering from MedExpress, did you have to upload a full length photo of yourself and supply a photo of your passport? Wasn’t quite expecting that!

Queezee · 26/08/2024 19:15

Help! Did second jab last Friday, all been fine until yesterday when I’ve never felt so ill. Nausea, exhaustion- had to go to bed and still feel crap today. I don’t know if it’s the MJ or whether my dd brought a bug home as I saw her last Thursday and her dh was similarly ill yesterday too. But it’s properly spooked me and I’m thinking should I just jack it in? I’m going on a long awaited holiday next Monday and if I’m going to be crappy every week, I don’t want it. I have a tendency to overreact and catastrophise but yesterday was bloody awful. Hold my hand - has anyone else had any like this? 🫳

Yes, although I used my driving license

I had this on Friday/Saturday this weekend after my third jab on Wednesday. Was questioning if it was all worth it! I felt better yesterday though, just tired, and feel fine today 😊 I decided to stick to 2.5 for my next one off the back of it though tbh, and now today I feel so ok I'm reconsidering going up to 5!

@Queezee urgh poor you - it is so grim! If it’s any consolation I felt totally grim for 12 days and now (day 18) I realise I’ve actually felt ok for nearly a week! So I do think your body gets more used to it. Otherwise small meals, lots of water and Kwells.

Queezee · 26/08/2024 20:44

Thanks @CremeDeSudo and @MidLifeResurgence74 its crap and I probably wouldn’t be worried if I wasn’t going on holiday and if the timings were the same there’s absolutely no way I could do a flight feeling like that. I’ve been looking forward to this holiday for so long I don’t want to mess it up by being ill. But it could have been a bug because dd and her dh have both had similar. Urgh

Choux · 26/08/2024 20:45

@Queezee do you think it's definitely a reaction to Mounjaro or could it be caused by eating or drinking fatty food or alcohol while on Mounjaro? What did you eat yesterday?

Choux · 26/08/2024 20:47

@Queezee if you have the same symptoms as two other people then see if you are ill for the same length of time as them. If you are then it's likely the same big they have had.

Rorpethy · 26/08/2024 20:51

Just wondering if anyone else has suffered with achy legs? Mine are so bad right now!

ChunkyMunky · 26/08/2024 20:52

@Queezee I’ve had a few horrible days this week. Starting to feel better but energy levels still low. I’m going to make a conscious effort to eat some good healthy stuff but keep my calories up. Hope you feel better before your holiday.

Guess to prove who I am

what a waste of money!

I did have overwhelming tiredness for a couple of days after my 2nd jab, literally did nothing all day!

But there are certainly bugs going around. Both DH and I were ill from Thursday onwards so it may not be MJ and just a big especially if your DDs DH is ill too. But combined, I'd understand you feeling totally crap!

But your body is still getting used to MJ as well, it's gets easier!

No I don’t think so, I’ve been really careful and another excellent side effect of the MJ is I can’t stomach alcohol which is a bonus tbf. I think hopefully it’s more likely a bug seeing as 2 fam members have similar.

thanks for the handholding 🤛

Give it time

If second jab did you lose any weight first week

Princessandthepie · 26/08/2024 21:26

Feeling like a weeble wobble this evening!!

I'm so bloated! I've started my period, I'm constipated and I've been out for dinner tonight but made sensible choice of steak, jacket potato and salad and no alcohol!

I've just had one sachet of Fybogel as needs must but my stomach seems to be bubbling and now I'm scared 😱

I stayed off the scales this morning as I'm not feeling like anything changed and because of all the bloating, I'd be annoyed if my weight had gone up, so ignorance is bliss at the moment!!

If only the rest of me was looking so slim as my ankles! 🤣🤣
