I didnt have that bad ones compared to many - fellt a bit "blagh" the day after the injection (like a slight hangover if that makes sense) and slightly bunged up but apart from that fine.

Wingingit11 · 25/08/2024 10:52

@CatTraveler thanks - did you go straight to 5 or 3.75 as a first stop?

Wallywobbles · 25/08/2024 10:56

I have finally got my first pens after a trip to the UK. Started a week ago on 2.5 and 5lb down, which is a happy surprise. I've still been drinking but stayed away from carbs where possible.

If anyone is interested, I've added a kg tracker to the weightloss tracker here, so you can now use lb or kg.

And the information pages are here.

Okay , 2nd dose administered but the sharps bin won’t open!!!
I used it for first sharp disposal and shut the lid .., should I not have shut it, or am I missing something here?
thanks for any advice

CornishGem1975 · 25/08/2024 11:04

@doodles55 No once you shut them, they don't open again!

doodles55 · 25/08/2024 12:17

I’ll contact voy and see if they’ll issue a 2nd container
anyone else had this happen.?

Someone mentioned they did the same a couple of days ago.

It will be interesting if Voy - one of the most expensive suppliers - will send you a new one for free or not. Given what they charge they should.

Just so you are aware you can buy sharps bins online for £2 so you are not asking for much from Voy. Let's see if they make you buy it or not.

Pinkjenny · 25/08/2024 12:22

Just getting a bit concerned/confused. I've seen a few comments on here from people avoiding carbs. I know we need to stick to protein and hit our protein target, but if I'm staying within a deficit, why would it matter if I eat carbs? Bearing in mind I only took the first jab yesterday, will carbs have an adverse effect?

Trying to do things properly and would welcome any advice!

Pinkjenny · 25/08/2024 12:23

I say I'm trying to do things properly, just scared it won't work really.

@Pinkjenny I think most people
focus on protein first to avoid muscle loss, hair loss etc within the calories they can manage / have per day. Carbs aren’t bad outside of that !

WitchDancer · 25/08/2024 12:39

@WorriedRelative thank you for that information. Very useful to know!

Thank you! Day 2 and I'm obsessively checking the mirror for signs of my first stone dropped Grin

Wingingit11 · 25/08/2024 12:45

@Pinkjenny ha i think we all did that in week one! I have been more of a slow and hopefully steady loss

Timetochange24 · 25/08/2024 12:53

I did the Voy intro session this week and they discouraged cutting out carbs/intermittent fasting/keto alongside the medication because they're trying to encourage a sustainable approach to eating that lasts beyond the initial weight loss. With my cynical hat on though, I wonder if that's because the faster a client loses weight, the sooner they stop subscribing to Voy...

Choux · 25/08/2024 12:55

@Pinkjenny I generally low carb to get the protein and nutrients up. If I start to feel fatigued I will eat a few carbs to see if that helps.

If I meet friends for a meal at their house I eat a smaller portion of whatever I'm served. If eating out I will try to eat low carb but if we are going somewhere that isn't possible i'd just eat a smaller portion eg the steak and a few chips or the soup and the bread roll.

No food is banned but eating well for weight loss is the short term goal. and eating well in a way that you can eventually sustain without Mounjaro is the long term goal.

I agree. Maintenance looks very different to weight loss as you can eat many more calories when you aren't trying to lose weight. But there are quite a few posts here where people seem to think not eating to lose 4 plus pounds a week is the goal so a supplier should be pushing the message that weight loss should be slow and sustainable. It does also benefit their sales though as you say.

I am sure I will eat more carbs than now once in maintenance but, for the weight loss phase, not eating them much suits me. I do occasionally feel tired especially on day 2-4 after the jab so might eat a bit of rice or bread then to boost my energy.

SilverSprings510 · 25/08/2024 13:13

I weighed today (my usual weigh day, but only injected on Wednesday) and I’ve lost 4.5lb so far. I had a couple of glasses of Prosecco last night as my friend was over, but definitely not as much as I would usually drink. I feel awful today, really ropey stomach. Won’t be indulging too often 😂

Pinkjenny · 25/08/2024 13:22

Thanks for all the advice, doing the food shop tomorrow so I'll focus on protein in the cupboards and fridge.

4.5 would be amazing! Well done!

cosylife · 25/08/2024 13:52

2nd dose of 2.5 yesterday and the suppression is suppressing HARD 😂 I’ve had 2 scrambled egg with smoked salmon and half a flatbread all day. Just feel so full but also soooo thirsty!

Im aiming for a 2lbs loss this week to hit my stone loss target then hopefully keep the losses consistent at around 2-3 a week.

I’ve decided to leave Voy for my next pen - I’ve received zero support and they were meant to WhatsApp me yesterday to remind me to weigh in and I’ve had nothing so not sure what extras I’ve paid for really!

UsernameTryAnother · 25/08/2024 14:00

I've just had my second 2.5 dose. I lost 4lb last week so I'm quite happy with that.

I'm thinking ahead to the next order. Do any pharmacies offer a delivery service where you can you specify a day for delivery? I have problems accepting deliveries where I am.

A slow and steady weight loss is much better for you though. They wouldn't be doing their job properly if they encouraged an unhealthily fast weight loss regime.

This is why I personally would not be interested in coaching, I want to make my own decisions about my diet regime. I was intermittent fasting with a six hour eating window before I started using MJ and really love it, I will never go back to eating in the morning again. I was just eating too much and the wrong things (crisps) in my eating window and that is why I need MJ.

I am scared of what will happen after I reach my healthy weight though, I'm not going to lie. Maybe it will take me a year to get there but I'm not going to go back, I am determined to make this work. Justifying the cost to Dh is one of my motivators.
