My first pen has arrived on the post today and even though I was excited to start, I'm now having second thoughts! I'm just worried about side effects. Did you all find it easy to inject yourselves? Mentally I mean. If that makes sense.

Haven't weighed but I'm 5.4 around 14st and want to lose about 4st.

There is no pain when injecting.

I had no side effects until 7.5mg, and then it was just a bit of nausea. I also had some diarrhoea but took loperamide.

Equate travel sickness tablets from Ebay are your friend. They contain dimenhydrinate 50mg.

Pinkjenny · 24/08/2024 18:05

I did my first injection this morning. The needle is absolutely tiny, can barely feel it.

The injection is far easier to do that I expected. I was expecting it to hurt a little, like when you have an injection at the doctors, but it's a smaller needle so you don't feel it.

@Rorpethy snap! 5 foot 4, 14 stone, 4 stone to go. I've also just taken my first dose.

No way! Weight loss twins. How old are you if you don't mind me asking? I'm 33. Have you felt any different since you took the first dose earlier?

Thanks for the reassurance of no pain everyone. I'm more worried that I won't be able to physically do it to myself. I'm just going to hype myself up for it once the kids are in bed.

Is there anything you particularly avoid, food wise, or it is a case of trial and error?

owlyboo · 24/08/2024 19:11

Hi everyone. Hope you're all doing well. Day 4 for me (5 if you include the evening I injected.) feeling so much better last two days. Appetite is still very low. Struggling to eat enough really but I'm sure it'll even out. Happy bank holiday weekend

I'm 40. Getting to a healthy weight was the one thing on my "before I'm 40" bucket list that I didn't tick off, but if I have a good run I might just get my BMI under 30 before I hit 41. That's my interim goal.

I didn't even feel the needle going in. The pen was easy to set up too - I was worried about messing it up. I'm sure it's mostly a placebo effect but I'm trying to listen out for the ever present food noise and it's gone very quiet.

doodles55 · 24/08/2024 19:25

I just need to relate my video call with my dietician?? I’m with voy and due 2nd jab tomorrow..,’word salad a go go’
gave me nothing new .. zzzz

Rorpethy · 24/08/2024 19:55

@Timetochange24 even if it is just a placebo effect, it's working! Hopefully it will continue for you. Did you take it on an empty stomach or just eat as normal? I know I'm just overthinking everything.

@DinnaeFashYersel hi there, your username makes me think of my mum who died a very long time ago but I can still hear her comforting me many times throughout my life and saying - dinnae fashion yersel hen. And when she was saying it she’d be stroking my hair and brushing my fringe out of my eyes whilst the tears and the snots were tripping me. Even when I was big. Big like 40 years old. I’m 66 now and I still miss her.

I had to say it out loud. Bless you, we never forget our mums 💐

Glittermoonlight · 24/08/2024 20:35

Another one who just took my first dose! Now nervous about side effects! Excited too!

Why doesn't that surprise me. I'm so glad I didn't go with Voy!

WitchDancer · 24/08/2024 20:39

I'm due dose 4 on Tuesday and I'm definitely feeling hungry. I'm debating whether to use the bonus to up my 4th injection or whether to stick to 2.5 for week 4 and then use whatever is left as a stepping stone to 5ml. I keep flip flopping on what to do!

MelainesLaugh · 24/08/2024 20:52

Day three here, took first dose on Wednesday. Definitely less hungry and thinking about food less.

Ive felt a bit shaky today though. Has anyone else had this?

weaseleyes · 24/08/2024 20:56

Maybe see just how hungry you’re feeling by Tuesday @WitchDancer? If ravenous go with option 1, if mildly peckish option 1.

I'm already fretting similarly and I’m only 2 days into my second jab! I feel I ought to try switching provider to get some money off at least once, as this is a real stretch for me, but then I’d probably need to decide by week 3. It’s very hard not to overthink these things!

WitchDancer · 24/08/2024 22:28

@weaseleyes that's a good idea, thank you.

Motnight · 24/08/2024 23:32

On day 2 of 4th dose at 2.5. Feeling a bit peckish but haven't eaten much today at all.

What is left is likely more than a normal dose so don't take the full bonus dose at the same time as dose 4 it will be too much.

Someone did this on the main thread and felt very poorly.

Remember 2.5 is sub clinical it isn't supposed to do anything but help you avoid side effects, don't increase early. Take your 4th dose as usual before you step up.

The bonus dose tends to be around 3.75 so a good stepping stone before 5 or you could use a new pen to have 5.0 in week 5.

WorriedRelative · 25/08/2024 09:15

Jab 4 is due tomorrow, and today, I broke two important barriers, a full half stone off and sub 100kg!

It hasn't been as quick as I had hoped, but I haven't overhauled my eating, I am mainly just eating reduced quantities.

We never forget them and we’re never old enough to be without them. ❤️

Princessandthepie · 25/08/2024 09:55

No movement on the scales this morning so I've been at 14.11 for a week now!

Whilst I will admit that I'm not as miffed as I have been in the past, I'm finding it a tad annoying.
