Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

Hi all so I jabbed on Tuesday, I've felt some appetite suppression but to be honest was a bit underwhelmed. I did wonder if it was maybe because I've taken wegovy before and maybe I needed a higher dose but today I feel like it's really kicked in.
So maybe doesn't work straight away for everyone. I had a sneaky peek on the scales this morning (trying not to weigh every day) and I'm 4 lbs down so chuffed with that.

alittlebitlessofme · 03/08/2024 19:06

I'm so desperate to try these. Cannot afford them atm 😭. Is there anyway of getting them on the NHS or even pay per injection rather than per month?

Mounjarome · 03/08/2024 19:22

@SheSellSeaShells yes don’t worry it’s only if you still have your gallbladder and have issues with it. Mine was also removed 9 trait ago now so I looked into this.

Mounjarome · 03/08/2024 19:23

Sorry that should have said 9 years ago!

I believe you can get them on the NHS but you have to have exhausted all other weight management plans before they'll consider it.

I've not seen a pay per injection, as the pens include four doses. Although it is clearly expensive, I've tried to justify it by breaking down weekly (roughly £30) and that's essentially a takeaway a week, then the extra snacks that I buy while I'm at work, the maccies with the kids over the weekend etc. maybe girl math but that's how my brain works haha

alittlebitlessofme · 03/08/2024 20:05

@Potterson13 it's all very well to say it's only a takeaway a week. I don't have takeaways I can't afford them!!! My food budget is £40 per week. I don't have spare money! I'm budgeted down to the penny!

I didn't mean to cause offence, apologies if my comment came across that way. I'm not judging at all, I agree it's very expensive I was just trying to share my way of justifying the very clear expense of the medication.

@Potterson13 I like your girl maths- I’m going to do that from now on.

@alittlebitlessofme i think you should do two things- firstly, go to your GP and get the ball rolling re NHS weight loss solutions. Jump through the hoops with the longer game in mind.
Secondly, if you think you could afford to pay weekly, start putting aside £30 a week now, then in a month you’ll have enough for your first one. Keep doing it regularly and you’ll manage. I know it’s tough on a budget but think strategically. You’ll probably need to take it for a few months. Anyone offering weekly dose is not to be trusted, likely using dodgy medication and unlicensed. I’d only trust it if it was a service offered by an actual pharmacy and even then, I suspect it would cost you more in the long run.

sundaysunday2024 · 03/08/2024 21:13

36 hrs since my first injection and something is definitely different. I was sceptical at first, thinking I wouldn't see any effect at the lowest dose but I'm sure it's started working already! I'm just not feeling the same interest in food as usual, no urge to snack in the evening!!

Some slight nausea on and off (bizarrely in the supermarket!) but seemed to go away once I'd had something small to eat so I reckon eating little and often is important.

sundaysunday2024 · 03/08/2024 21:17

Oh and a decent bruise at my injection site. Thankfully no one but my children will be seeing my stomach but I'm worried because I'm prone to bruising normally and I don't want to be adding a new bruise each week!

troppibambini6 · 03/08/2024 21:23

@sundaysunday2024 where did you jab? I used to find I bruised terribly on my thighs but much better if I did it on my tummy.

sundaysunday2024 · 03/08/2024 22:31

@troppibambini6 On my tummy. I've done blood thinning injections the same place before so I know not to rub the area afterwards. I do bruise very easily though. I'm wondering if one of the kids has knocked it.

Addictedtobeauty · 04/08/2024 09:00

Yesterday was a fairly normal day for me, ate a small lunch (as usual) and a normal dinner. Also had some revels (not the whole bag - win!) and a small (honestly) glass of wine. No side effects. This morning. I am still really full from my dinner- it’s a strange feeling, like I ate or an hour ago. I have a mild indigestion/reflux feeling when bending over and am a bit burpy (but thankfully not eggy). No other ill effects. So far, I’m feeling positive.

trulybee · 04/08/2024 10:16

Morning everyone. How's it going?
So today is Day 3 for me after taking my first injection Friday. Yesterday I was ok, appetite definitely suppressed. I drank electrolytes and maybe need to be drinking even more water than I have been. I had a protein shake with berries for breakfast, a chicken, walnut, rocket, cucumber and red grape salad for lunch - never had this before but was very nice. I felt very mildly hungry for this around 2pm.
Later on in the day, I had no appetite at all and had to force myself to eat. I ended up with 2 scrambled eggs with a slice of toast. Last night I got up three times in the night with diarhoerra (sp?) and this morning half mild nausea and no appetite. I can see that I am going to have to make a concerted effort to eat in the initial days after jabbing as the weight I want to lose is fat - not muscle.

All in all, not too bad, it is early days. Side effects manageable so far, glad that i injected Friday so worst of symptoms over weekend.
Hope all is well with everyone.

Can I join please? I joined another thread that started in July but had too much going on to do anything and they are already a few weeks along. As I said on that thread, I have quite a few issues - mainly in my head - around the weight loss injections in general, feel like its cheating, worried about side effects but these threads are so helpful for changing my mind. Plus feel like it's now or never.

@troppibambini6 we're off on hols but I've decided to start after we're back as it's been a long wait to go and it's too late to worry about the photos now. @MissFancyDay I feel the same. I feel like I have no choice as my weight is causing so many issues now. It was never a problem before, always thought of myself as fit fat, always had loads of energy and stamina, could walk for miles, healthy resting heart rate, never had any joint problems. But since menopause, everything has just gone to pot, being overweight for most of my life is manifesting itself with a vengeance and it is now definitely the biggest contributing factor to various health concerns. I feel like I have aged about 20 years in 20 months. I need lots of handholding as I'm very nervous about the process but these threads are just so supportive. @SuperBatFace so inspiring ! I've seen Boots, Voy, Juniper, Zava, mentioned on these threads, plus others, but just don't know which to go with. I will order before we go on hols so it's ready and waiting when we get back.

HettieBettyBoo · 04/08/2024 11:27

24 hours since my first injection. I wasn’t feeling very very hungry at all last night so had a small portion of skinny fries, that’s all I could manage. Wakened this morning at 4,30 with the worst diahorrea and sickness, that settled quickly. Im blaming the chips as I’ve read on some groups too much fat can make you sick.

I’m feeling quite tired this morning but I think thats more to do with broken sleep as I normally sleep 9 hours really well.

I’ve had two eggs mashed in a cup with tomato this morning, I couldn’t face anything more. I’ve had an electrode drink as well and I’m going to up my water intake today, I’ve also ordered a few vitamins.

What vitamins are people taking if any?

Princessandthepie · 04/08/2024 11:59

@HettieBettyBoo Hope you're feeling better. I take vitamin D, feroglobin and omega 369 but have done for a while now.

When i first woke up this morning at 5am, i did feel different around my stomach. It's strange to explain but before on diets, I always knew when I'd lost weight because it feels like little pockets by my hips were empty. I know it sounds strange but you know your own body and all that.

However, when I got up at 7.30am, I weighed myself this morning and I've gained a pound! I feel bloated, burpy and I feel a bit constipated, (sorry I know it's tmi but we're all going to experience this so we might as well be honest about it.)

In terms of food noise, it's gone, it's like a switch has just simply been turned off! And typing this, I've just realised, I haven't eaten since yesterday dinner and I don't even feel hungry, I've had a coffee and that's it.

CremeDeSudo · 04/08/2024 12:13

@trulybee what dressing did you have with that salad? It sounds lovely and also nutritional!

I'm so excited to start, particularly for the food noise to go!

Impressed with the Voy app so far and have booked a consultation for the end of the month as hoping to tackle mental issues around food too.

I've joined a FB support group too - lots of women who seem like me! They know everything they should do, have tried everything, but nothing has worked so now trying MJ. Very supportive community there too.

Quackajack · 04/08/2024 12:23

Just taken first dose. Ordered on Zava and it took 4 days from order to be agreed and delivered so pretty good.

SuperBatFace · 04/08/2024 13:14

@Pieris24 good luck with it! I like medexpress but this is because they've been easy to order from and relatively quick to dispatch and it turns out (I couldn't have known they'd do this when I started!) that they will provide a maintenance dose going forward - I'm undecided about this and would prefer to try and go it alone once I've got to my goal weight, but it's good to know it's there

I'm sure the other providers will all follow suit soon though

Blondephantom · 04/08/2024 13:20

I had my first jab yesterday. Got the other half to stab me as I have a needle phobia. Barely felt it. Felt an odd sense of peace and slept really well. No food noise at all and have felt some nausea but I think that is when my body needs food as a small meal sorts it. Feeling exceptionally calm and positive. Good luck everyone.

Potterson13 · 04/08/2024 13:36

Amazing seeing so many stories. I feel as though this thread is going be a great support! Impatiently waiting for the postman to deliver mine. Royal Mail says it'll be delivered by 7.30pm. A bit apprehensive of starting on a Sunday considering I work 9-5 during the week (not from home either!). Also thinking forward to the ideal time to inject. Ideally I'll need the highest suppression over the weekend so I am considering delaying jabbing until maybe Wednesday or Thursday. Not sure at the min!

CoffeeAndEnnui · 04/08/2024 14:06

Hi everyone, I'm grateful to have spotted this thread, it has motivated me to take the step instead of dithering for another month. PCOS and peri symptoms have conspired to stop Metformin from keeping things under control any longer and like so many on here I'm tired of hiding from pics and feeling quietly devastated by the new reality of myself.

Can I ask if anyone has gone the Zava via Asda route (and if it's even legit)? This is a huge investment (of finances and hope) and I want to get it right. Thank you.

Potterson13 · 04/08/2024 15:16

Ok it's arrived... I'm more nervous than I thought I'd be

Addictedtobeauty · 04/08/2024 16:21

@Potterson13 I was unexpectedly nervous too but it really was fine. Have you decided when you’ll start?
