Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

On a very silly note though, I have Edina Monsoon in my head....

It's making me smile through the slight nausea

I did my first injection this morning. I’ve battled my weight since I had an early menopause so fingers crossed this helps shift it. Good luck everyone.

MissFancyDay · 03/08/2024 13:12

I'm still waiting to be approved with Zava, I think they have a two to three day backlog, but are saying that they are recruiting to lessen it. I'm so hyped up about it it's practically all I think about.

Have to calm down 😄

Potterson13 · 03/08/2024 13:16

Those who ordered from Zava, how long did the delivery take? The Royal Mail tracking still says they are waiting to receive it before it updates with a delivery estimated but I had a notification on Thursday morning that it had been dispatched.

Iv'e been thinking about it for a while but I'm scared, mainly of the needle. I have been trying to lose weight for about forty years and it's getting to be now or never. I'm diligently reading all the information here though and am about to take the plunge. Haven't quite decided who to go with yet though, or whether to let anyone know in real life. Good luck everyone

Hi @MissFancyDay I was the same it took me months to order and when I was ready, there was a delay so just give yourself time if you have a specific date you’d like to start. I have quite a phobia of needles and blood…Think fainting at blood tests and crying getting immunisations. I get my partner to do the injections in my thigh I’ve just had my second one today. The first one was fine but I was hysterically crying before as I knew it wouldn’t hurt but was scared. Today I stupidly didn’t get something to cover the small amount of blood that comes out and I looked at it then fainted , I know I have someone to look after me so I wasn’t scared about the fainting part at all ! I came too and realised how silly I am for getting like that but it really doesn’t hurt the needle is very small and very thin like a strand of hair! I wish I had done this sooner and I think it will eventually help me with my phobias and to loose more weight. I ordered from Boots but it is pretty expensive however, you get lots of support and can join weight watchers on a deal as well as them giving you support on what to eat and real life diet plans! Good luck with whatever you decide!

Thank you so much for your support. I admire your bravery massively, I have a phobia ( not needles) and I know the sheer terror that comes with having to face a fear like that. So many people don't understand so I am glad that you have support in the shape of your partner.

I know I can do it, and having the absolute mine of information that is on this board is so helpful. It's just the thought of the first time!!

I hope you have loads of success in your journey, I know we won't regret it x

I had a notification on Tuesday that it had been dispatched and received it on Thursday.

@Potterson13 im waiting for mine from ZAVA too. It was approved Thursday but Royal Mail say they are still awaiting it.

CremeDeSudo · 03/08/2024 16:02

Can I join please? I was approved with Voy yesterday so will be starting next week. I'm nervous and excited! Just recreated a photo with the kids, and I'm now even more sure I'm making the right decision 🥺

Potterson13 · 03/08/2024 16:49

@Usernamechangeforthis12 exactly the same as me then. Hopefully they'll come early next week. I put this off for ages and now I've actually ordered it I'm keen to get started! The photos from the wedding I went to yesterday are awful :(

Welcome! I know that feeling, photos are not my friend at the moment. Can't wait to start feeling confident in myself again

Wingingit11 · 03/08/2024 17:03

I am exactly the same with photos ! Not injecting til tomorrow as have something tomorrow but feel better for a few days of lighter eating already.
What are the other things motivating you?
for me :

  • increasingly health over appearance as I approach middle age (probably beyond it !)
  • being able to sit on seats without worrying about creaks!
  • having the confidence to start a bit of fitness
  • doing normal things that I avoid eg family swimming sessions, rides etc
TinaTotal · 03/08/2024 17:12

My delivery was missed today, I had to work but left my daughter at home to sign for it. She says the postman didn't knock (or she wasn't listening) I'm worried it will be ruined now as they won't redeliver until Monday. Any advice regarding this? I'm absolutely livid.

Mounjarome · 03/08/2024 17:32

ive just done my first injection. I was absolutely terrified and almost bottled out I have health anxiety and always worry I will have an allergic reaction to something. So I’m happy I actually did it. My partner supppsed me he was great. Now I’m trying to occupy myself for the next 30 mins until I’m sure the risk of a serious reaction has passed! So going to get on with chores.

SuperBatFace · 03/08/2024 17:42

@TinaTotal don't worry. It does not have to be refrigerated and is absolutely fine to be left - as long as it doesn't go above 30 degrees or freeze, there's not an issue at all

SuperBatFace · 03/08/2024 17:42

@TinaTotal oh and I often have this tbh. Sent on a Thursday and doesn't reach me until the Monday. Not a problem

TinaTotal · 03/08/2024 17:45

@SuperBatFace thank you so much! I was really worried. Looking forward to starting now well .. Monday 🙄

SuperBatFace · 03/08/2024 18:00

@TinaTotal good luck with it all! I know how it is when you just want to get on with it!

MrsHerbs79 · 03/08/2024 18:25

@Potterson13 - I’ve just had notification to expect delivery tomorrow!

Same, I was at a wedding a couple of weeks ago. Ordered loads of dresses and returned them all! I looked huge in everything. Hated the photos!

CremeDeSudo · 03/08/2024 18:41

My motivation is mainly vanity based tbh. I've been trying to lose weight 'the right way' with a PT, regular weights sessions, calorie counter etc, but it's just not coming off. Then I enter the 'fuck it cycle', then get back on it, don't see results, then repeat. It's got to the point where I'm genuinely starting to think that counting calories has become triggering for me! I can maintain now, but can't seem to lose so I'm hoping this will allow me to lose and I can maintain at a lower weight 🤞 my goal is to actually look like someone who works out as much as I do!

SheSellSeaShells · 03/08/2024 18:50

Has anyone taking mj inhections had gallbladder surgery? When I fill out the questions it asks b4 prescribing, one is if I've had gallbladder issues, which I tick that i have. It then pops up that I cannot have it. My gallbladder was removed over 13 years ago... surely no gallbladder means I'm OK?

I totally get this, but even worse, when I fall off the exercise wagon after a few months I put on more weight. And this becomes my new normal. I’m so sick of seeing no results from strength training, hiit, swimming, intermittent fasting, the list goes on!

This is me. I regularly exericise, weights and cardio and cannot lose weight. My Mum died suddenly in April and fell off the exercise wagon as was really low. Didn''t comfort eat or anythig, in fact not much of an appetite but noticed all my clothes becoming tight. I've got a thyroid condition and I am certain that in times of stress my thyroid goes out of whack and everything sticks to me. I am so sick of it.

Potterson13 · 03/08/2024 18:59

@Usernamechangeforthis12 oh I've just checked my emails and me too! I didn't realise Royal Mail deliver on Sundays. Nerves have kicked in almost instantly though 😂

My motivation is also mostly vanity based, but also I need the boost to be able to be more active. I work a 9-5 office based job and have a two year old and a six year old. It leaves me with either no time to exercise properly or when I do have the time I'm too tired. Going to make an effort to go for a walk on my lunch breaks instead of working through. That's probably also a reason I'm so tired, I'm probably burnt out and need to actually use my lunch break for its purpose!
