Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

Hi , I have taken my 1st injection this morning , I decided to try Mounjaro as I have had enough of yoyo dieting ,I have watched a lot of videos and write ups , so I ordered it and here i am, along with you lovely people ,ready for the journey ahead.

I am about 8st over my ideal weight, but if I lose half of that, I will be happy , I know its a tool to help me lose weight, and it isn't a solution, I will get there as I have done before, but I am determined not to put it back on again, like I did after doing the keto diet.

My worry is my shift pattern as I work rolling shifts of 4 x 12hr days and also 4 x 12 hr nights , I know it will be trial and error trying to eat healthy especially in the middle of the night ,but no more munchies lol .

I enjoy reading other people's posts, picking up pointers along the way ,so I will be following this thread closely.

Good Luck to all the newbies like me ,and keep up the good work all those already on their journey .

@SuperBatFace your story is so inspiring- thank you for sharing and taking the time to drop in to us newbies. It is much appreciated.

My pen has arrived today and I will use it this evening. Meeting friends today so don’t want to feel sick and I have the weekend clear in case of side effects. Good luck everyone, fingers crossed we achieve the results we’re after.

Quackajack · 02/08/2024 12:52

I'm waiting for my first pen to be delivered. Got 4 stone to lose also.

trulybee · 02/08/2024 15:09

Good luck everyone.

My Mounjaro arrived today and I injected at 2.30pm. It was really easy as I already inject for B12 (I have pernicious anaemia) and the needle was much finer. Didn't feel a thing and the process of priming it was straight forward which seemed to be the most complex bit!

So today is officially the beginning of Week 1. I'm intrigued and dare I say,a little excited to see what comes over the coming weeks.

Good luck everyone!

Princessandthepie · 02/08/2024 15:51

Mine arrived this afternoon so ill be starting in the morning.

I'm going to weigh myself, do measurements etc and then inject!!

Would love to join you all for support ❤️

🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

MissFancyDay · 02/08/2024 15:57

I've taken the plunge, ordered from Zava, I can't believe I've done it. I haven't been approved yet mind but fingers crossed.

I haven't felt this positive about getting my life back for years. I'm slightly worried about side effects but compared with what I am already suffering on account of being 5 stones too heavy, it's a no brainer.

MissFancyDay · 02/08/2024 16:00

@trulybee I think that I will start mine midweek as well, to prevent having to inject on weekends away etc. I know it's Friday but I think I might avoid Sat and Sun.

trulybee · 02/08/2024 16:24

@MissFancyDay Yes, I think normally I would inject on a Monday but worried that I will get side effects after taken it and starting a new job which I can't afford to mess up. Fingers crossed Friday will give me the weekend if out of sorts.

Choosetolose · 02/08/2024 18:24

@Addictedtobeauty , I read that if you take protein with your injection , it helps with the side effects ,I had an arla vanilla yoghurt 20g protein, when I took mine at 10am this morning and it's now 6.30 pm and I have to say so far so good. 😀

trulybee · 02/08/2024 18:28

Well 4 hours in and not sure if my imagination but not feeling hungry at all could take or leave dinner. Going to eat something but such a weird feeling.

sundaysunday2024 · 02/08/2024 18:40

@trulybee I've eaten my tea (chicken veg stir-fry with noodles) but strangely didn't feel hungry beforehand. Was wondering if it was just a placebo effect though because I only took my first dose at 8am.

Excited that there's a few of us starting at the same time 👍

OlympicsFanGirl · 02/08/2024 19:30

Day 6.

DH made me a bowl of porridge for breakfast. Could only manage half.

Last week would have had full bowl plus 2 slices of buttery toast.

Weigh in tomorrow but think I've lost 3-4 lbs.

Actually pondering if I should do my first dose tonight then just go to bed but I've had pizza for dinner and wine.

I don't want to make myself ill.

MrsHerbs79 · 02/08/2024 20:06

Hi literally taken my first injection this morning too………got about 4ish stone to lose. 👋

Mounjarome · 02/08/2024 20:49

I’ve just had an email from Royal Mail to say my first pen should arrive tomorrow! Quite nervous hope I can bring myself to do it it’s not the needles, It’s the potential side effects I’m worried about.

Wingingit11 · 02/08/2024 21:45

Hello can I join too? Picked up my pen today but won’t do it til Sunday night as have things on this weekend. Nervous about side effects in school
holidays 🫣

thatsmyumbrellaellla · 02/08/2024 23:28

Took 1st injection about 10am today - so far not felt any different. Initially had bit of a panic as although had been excited to get started have suffered from anxiety on and off the past year particularly health anxiety (one of the reasons for wanting to lose weight in the first place). I am really hoping it works as it has for others. I tried saxenda a few years ago which had zero impact but optimistic that this will be different.

I'm just waiting for mine to arrive at the chemist. Never tried it before but Saxenda made me so sick. Menopause is killing my body shape and I'm desperate to kick start some weight loss!

crackfoxy · 03/08/2024 08:37

4 weeks in. Zero weight loss but eating a lot less. Hoping I start to see results soon. Do feel a LOT better in myself - less full!

trulybee · 03/08/2024 08:54

Took my first injection yesterday. No side effects yet, not headaches etc. I have already noticed a massive reduction in food noise. It has removed the constant mental debate of 'Should I have x y z to eat? No? Maybe just a little bit? Maybe I should have a b c instead? Ok I'll have x y z and then have a small lunch'. - and on and on it goes. Not thinking about food at all so far. I've planned my meals this week on MyFitness pal and happy just to prepare them, eat them and then forget about food until next meal. I feel really happy about this as the mental food commentary is exhausting.

I am Peri menopausal with an autoimmune Thyroid condition - I've always suspected that my thyroid condition has thrown my hunger signals out of whack. My weight gain and hunger coincided with developing thyroid symptoms, diagnosis 2 years later and has never gone away since. For the last few years I have just always felt hungry, prepared healthy meals, logged calories but constantly battling with this hunger that never abates. It is a relief this morning that it has gone.

Princessandthepie · 03/08/2024 10:28

I've injected this morning! Very easy to do.

I haven't eaten yet though as I rarely eat before 11am anyway but I do fancy some eggs so will scramble some in a bit.

So starting weight this morning was 15 stones and 8lbs, photos done (horrifying! But it would be nice to be in family photos again)

🤞🤞🤞

Addictedtobeauty · 03/08/2024 10:43

I have injected this morning too. I was planning to do it last night but then had a few drinks whilst meeting friends in the afternoon so decided I’d better not. It was so easy to inject- I kept pressing harder in to my fat as I didn’t believe the needle could have gone in. It definitely was though. Might have a bite of protein as suggested by @Choosetolose (love the name, love you know the difference between lose and loose 😂). Anyway, just going to make some coffee and then go about my day as normal. 🤞. Oh and my starting weight this morning was even worse than it was a couple of days ago when I weighed. Nearly 5 stone to lose- bummer! Still, I’ve started now. Positive thinking!

SW: 14 stone 12
GW: 10 stone

I totally get the family photo comment. I have been in denial about my size for a while but the photos don’t lie. I am an absolute heifer and despite my best efforts have been getting steadily worse throughout perimenopause, When photos or videos with me in are shared, I smile on the outside but weep internally. We’re doing something to change it though, so go us!

Babalish · 03/08/2024 12:10

Can I join please?

Took my first injection yesterday morning, only side effect I'm having so far is a sort of bruised feeling all over my stomach (not just at injection site) and slight bloating but also have my period so could be cross over there.

I ate relatively normally yesterday and today I've had two poached eggs and a small slice of sourdough and a few cherries. I didn't feel hungry for this, felt I just should eat.

Is everyone tracking calories? I don't really want to get bogged down in calorie counting but I'm using nutracheck to count to keep track of my protein.

My stats are

Height: 5ft 6
SW: 14 stone
GW: 11 stone

Yes the dreaded photos which people share unashamedly whilst we smile on the outside and die internally!!

I was looking through photos the other as Google keeps telling my storage is full and it's like I don't exist in my family, beautiful photos of my gorgeous dh and beautiful children but none of me with them! 😭
