Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

I've just seen that Royal Mail need a signature. I'll be leaving for the wedding around midday... probably before the post comes. I wonder if I can delay it to be delivered Saturday 🤔

Redlightbulb · 01/08/2024 11:02

I am nervous of the side effects. I don't want to feel sicky all the time or get pancreatitis!
Also nervous of it not working. It has been a hard decision due to the cost. I can afford it but I don't like wasting money. I am frugal by nature.
But enough is enough these last few years have been hell trying to stick to healthy eating long term.

Mounjarome · 01/08/2024 11:23

Hi can I join too! I ordered from MedExpress on Monday and still awaiting approval! How long did if take you to be approved?
I have about two stone to lose bmi is just over 30.
I just cannot stick to any diet the cravings are overwhelming so I hope Mounjaro will enable me to shift this express weight.

Addictedtobeauty · 01/08/2024 11:41

Can I join please? I have ordered and hoping for delivery tomorrow to start straight away. I’m excited, nervous and hopeful. I have about 4 stone to lose and am way into peri. Scared I might be someone it doesn’t work for but really want it to.

Potterson13 · 01/08/2024 10:46

I've had my approval from Zava this morning! I'm at a wedding tomorrow so planning on starting on Saturday I think.

I had my second child in March 2022 and have just got heavier and heavier since I stopped feeding him. My problem is snacking and boredom/stress eating!

How are you feeling about starting? I'm excited but a bit nervous of the side effects!

@Potterson13 how long have you waited for approval from Zava?

Potterson13 · 01/08/2024 12:50

@GreyMoose44 I ordered last night at 7.30pm, they asked for my pictures at 8pm. Uploaded them around 9.30pm and had an email saying I'm approved this morning at 10.30am. I can't fault them really. Although they haven't asked for any ID🤔

GreyMoose44 · 01/08/2024 13:02

@Potterson13 very quick. I ordered yesterday at 3pm, uploaded pictures in the evening, still waiting for approval.

FrozenLimeMargarita · 01/08/2024 13:35

Hi all

I started last week (Zava) and my second injection is today.

50Yrs
5 ft
SW16 st 1lb
CW15 st 0lb
Peri (on HRT)
2.5 - Thurs evening injection (belly)
Intermittent Fasting 16:8
Eating to my TDEE of 1800 cals

Not doing high protein specifically - just looking to have a more well-rounded diet. Nothing is off the table, but the mild suppression of food noise means I am able to objectively look at why I want something and decide not to, so that is a bonus. (I have NEVER been able to do that before!)

What I am doing is drinking water. I never drink water I've bought myself an insulated cup with a straw and It lives by my side.

*ordered from Zava the week before. took three days for them to agree and then the pen arrived 2 days latter (without them telling me it was on its way)

Usernamechangeforthis12 · 01/08/2024 20:12

I ordered from Zava on Tuesday evening, uploaded photos Wednesday morning and order was approved today.
Zava estimates that delivery will be next week but Royal Mail have it and it should be sent next day.

I was going to work from the office tomorrow but may have to stay home instead.

im hoping to lose 4 stone. That would relieve the pressure on my joints allowing me to improve my fitness. It would also help me regain my confidence and improve my self esteem.

I’ve tried dieting many times over the past 15 years but the weight has just crept on. Moved from a physical to a sedentary job plus peri/menopause and have really been up against it.

I think I’ll struggle with eating the right things, or knowing the right things to eat. I’m vegetarian and a very lazy cook!

I'm considering this. Tell me all about it. I keep seeing it on threads but no idea about it.

I've just started.

Basically you have a weekly injection that decreases your appetite enabling you to lose weight.

Having read loads of threads it seems to be very effective.

I'm 5 days in now. Eating about half what I did last week. Not lost any weight yet but feeling positive.

I'd like to join you all. I'm nearly 4 weeks in (due my 4th jab tomorrow) and down 12lbs. I have a lot more to lose, a good 9st.
I had horrible side effects for 24hrs for my first jab, about 4hrs for my second and none after the third. I'm so pleased that I pushed through as I was very close to throwing the pen away after that first shot!
Food noise has completely gone and because I'm not having cravings, I'm choosing food based on its nutrition, not taste. It's all looking good so far.
Good luck everyone!

Mounjarome · 01/08/2024 20:45

@Tiredandsnacky what side effects did you have after the first jab? And how soon after?

SuperBatFace · 01/08/2024 20:48

Good luck to you OP!

Just dropping by with a little encouragement. I had 4 stone (ok, 5) to lose when I started in April. I've always stuck with the 2.5 dose btw and I've now lost the 4 stone in 4 months and it has all been relatively straightforward.

I've also never had any full on appetite suppression either

I've attached my pics and honestly, before you know it, it'll be November and you'll be there

@SuperBatFace wow, well done! That’s really inspiring.

have you had any side effects? Done lots of exercise alongside? What have you eaten? Taken any supplements?

any top tips?

OlympicsFanGirl · 01/08/2024 21:44

@SuperBatFace

Bloody brilliant. That's really inspiring.

@Usernamechangeforthis12

I found that MJ gave me some sort of energy! Which was weird as I didn't move far from the sofa beforehand. So yes, I exercise - spin a couple of times a week, swimming twice a week, I walk a couple of times a week looking all weird in my weighted vest and I'm considering adding in some basic weights as I'm aware that preserving muscle mass is really important

No side effects really tbh. My fear is feeling sick so that's the main reason I've never gone up to 5mg. I do sometimes jab on day 5 or 6 of the week though - so I'm probably increasing my dose a little in that way if that makes sense

You don't need electrolytes or collagen or anything like that - unless you want to of course.

My best tip would be to look at your weight loss over a 30 day period. If you respond like most people do (and I know people in real life close to me doing this and bizarrely we are all following such a similar pattern) you'll end up losing a decent chunk every month

That really helps me when I have a fortnight of no movement. I have lost 10-12 lbs every single month without fail no matter what stalling has gone on previously

And my second best tip would be to just trust the process. Honestly, you'll do so well. Because I was unfit with higher cholesterol than it should be, high blood pressure, my knees were twinging and I had zero energy. I'm also deep in peri menopause which I was obvs blaming for my lack of weight loss

Ive gone from 14 st 12 to 10 stone 11 now and I'm about a stone away from my goal weight.

The challenge comes when I have to attempt to maintain but I'm really using this time to cement in some positive habits

OlympicsFanGirl · 01/08/2024 21:47

I'd never heard anyone talk about 'food noise' before reading these threads.

I thought it was just me. So glad to find out I'm not alone.

I also find the understanding and support on here amazing.

Normal diet threads are always filled by skinny Minnies insisting all we need to do is eat less, move more.

There's no judgment on these threads.

sundaysunday2024 · 02/08/2024 07:46

Hi, just done my first jab so joining the thread to track my own progress and hopefully share experiences.

Here's my stats
39
5'3
13st 7 ish currently
Would love to get back to 10st 7 eventually

I have PCOS so I'm interested in seeing if this works to help lose weight with only minimal appetite suppression. I already eat fairly healthily (but evening snacking and alcohol is my downfall).

@SuperBatFace Great advice. I'd seen your pics on another thread and I'm really hoping I can get results too with staying on 2.5

Sarahlouise86 · 02/08/2024 08:09

Well I've had one week since my 1st jab so weigh day this morning.

I've lost 6lbs! Can't believe it. It sounds ridiculous but I've never knowingly lost weight before.

I'm definitely ready for my next jab as suppression has massively tapered off and I've really been testing my will power for the last couple of days but so glad I didn't cave.

Tiredandsnacky · 02/08/2024 08:16

Mounjarome · 01/08/2024 20:45

@Tiredandsnacky what side effects did you have after the first jab? And how soon after?

I took the jab on Friday night and was ill all of Sunday.
Took jab 2 on Sunday night and was ill on Saturday morning.

I take jab 4 tonight, weighed myself this morning and I'm down 1st! I do have a lot to lose though.

farfromideal · 02/08/2024 08:25

I started on 30th July. Hoping to lose 2st. So far I've had no side effects and my appetite has decreased but not disappeared which is fine. I'm happy so far, as I'm hoping I'll be at least 1st down by Christmas.

thatsmyumbrellaellla · 02/08/2024 08:35

I received my first pen yesterday so planning on starting today. I have 6/7 stone to lose which I have lost previously but gained quickly during lockdown and never managed to get back on track. Similarly to @trulybee my plan is to try and not weigh in for the first month as I find I get obsessed with the weight on the scales and would rather go on how I'm feeling than by constantly weighing in.
@Potterson13 mine came yesterday via Royal Mail and said signature and Id were required however they just left it in the recycling bin as no one was home!

Potterson13 · 02/08/2024 08:41

@thatsmyumbrellaellla that's good to know thank you. Although with being at a wedding we won't be back until late so I'm worried it won't stay cold for long enough if they leave it somewhere. The Royal Mail tracking says they're waiting for receive it so I'm hoping it won't come today!

sundaysunday2024 · 02/08/2024 09:25

@Potterson13 I was home for my delivery and didn't have to sign for it. It wasn't as cold as I was expecting (zava) but I've started using my pen straight away and wasn't planning on keeping it in the fridge anyway so it'll be ok now for 30days
