Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

I did a double dose today with my 4th and the bonus 5th dose.

Means I've started 5mg early. I havent had any bad side effects. So felt good to go.

You could always extend the life of your pen and stay on 2.5 for another week. I plan to do that next month with my 5mg pen.

But if you do that you need to buy new needles cause there's a risk of infection reusing an needle.

I used Ned espresso. What price did you pay for what doseage

@weaseleyes I hear you. I’m in my 50”s and same story. I struggle to maintain the low carb diet long term too but it’s definitely what my body likes I get tempted after a couple of months by bread and spiral into high carb again. I have completed multiple exercise programmes, followed the body coach three month programme to the letter (twice) and still put on weight. I still train but now know food is where it’s at for weight loss and for me that means no bread/pasta/sugar/crisps. So far, MJ has made making healthy food choices easy. I have nearly five stone to lose and have been in denial for too long. I’ve lost 9 pounds in two weeks so far - early days but I’m hopeful for the first time in ages.

Thank you for your reply, I will use the bonus dose next week so staying on 2.5 for one more week! I have a pack of 100 needles I wouldn’t want to reuse the same needle , as you say could get an infection! Thank you!

@DinnaeFashYersel that’s good to know, thank you for sharing. Did you take the bonus dose and your 4th dose at the same time, or was it two separate injections? Sorry if that’s a silly question! I might do the same to see if I can tolerate the higher dose before ordering it 😊

I just weighed myself and I'm now under 70kg! My starting weight was 73kg, so it’s a small loss, but I've been stuck in the 70s for months. It’s nice to see the scale start with a 6 for a change.

I've always been slim, but I gained weight last year, which pushed my BMI to 33 due to my short height. In the past, I could quickly lose weight through fasting, diet, and exercise, but lately, I've struggled to maintain my weight. I’m hoping MJ will help me break this plateau and return to my normal weight.

I did the 4th dose then wound the pen on and did the bonus dose.

So / injections one after the other with the sand needle.

I've done my 3rd injection of 2.5mg today and just cancelled my subscription with Voy. I've filled in the application with Oushk I need to wait till Monday to pay for it. Thank you for telling your story @NeedSomeAnswersPlease it just sealed the deal for me to change. Xx

I'm with MedExpress. My first pen was about £115 with discount but normally £149 (I think). I liked them as the higher doses don't go up in price.

The price is shocking when you look at it really

Hi I’ve been a follower, but first time posting! I’m on week 2 of my first pen and have been injecting Wednesday evenings. I’m going on holiday with friends this Thursday, where we’ll be eating out and having drinks regularly. I’m worried about the side effects from restaurant food and alcohol.

Would you recommend skipping this week’s 3rd jab or take it as usual? Thanks

@MJ321 It builds up in your system so I would take it as usual personally. Just try to choose less fatty foods and smaller portions. Not sure about alcohol though as I don't really drink.

We went out for brunch, and I haven't had any symptoms since my third 2.5mg on Thursday, plus I felt quite hungry so I went for French toast. Felt full after it and couldn't finish my coffee. Came home and felt exhausted, slept for 2hrs and the French toast has now left the building very quickly 😫 so that's a no go then!!

Took second dose yesterday?, no side effects at all this time (as yet). I not really sure whether it is working or not

I recommend taking it as usual but making healthier choices when you’re away. You might find it easier than you think.

I have been on a few nights out since being on MJ and I can’t handle drinking much fluid in general - especially not alcohol. Tall and long drinks make me feel really full - you may feel the same. I ended up leaving some of the cocktails I’d already bought. Likewisee with food. I promise you that you can still have good time without eating and drinking your usual amounts.

Do your friends know you’re taking MJ?

I felt like this too, but I am still losing weight. My understanding is that 2.5mg is a small starter dose of the medicine, it’s not the full dose, so it’s normal for it to have little impact. From reading threads on here, some people get what they need from the starter dose but others need to move up to a higher dose

No my friends don’t and I’m not ready to tell people yet. So that’s an added anxiety as worried they will notice smaller meals and much less alcohol than usual.

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease if they are being condesending, you could tell them you will be contacting the General Pharmaceutical Council to ask them to investigate both the initial prescription and that they offered to let you continue if you did the expensive course. Fairly sure that would shut them up.

Sorry, can’t remember who asked but I went with Pharma planet. They do two pen deals and I found a discount code online which brought the cost down further. It was approved within three days and arrived the day after. I paid £252 for the first two pens - one 2.5 and one 5.

My dad doesn't know I'm on this and I said I'm trying to cut back as he noticed my visibly smaller portions at dinner (he's here a few times a week) and was quite surprised when I got him and the kids fish and chips takeaway but still made myself salmon and salad.

My son has noticed too, so I've said fried food gives me a really bad stomach ache so it's not worth it.

I don't want them knowing I'm doing this.

Anyone else had crazy hiccups on Mounjaro? Or is it just a coincindence? 48 hours in and I have crazy hiccups tonight - been going for 2 hours now!
