Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

Welcome. Had my first jab yesterday and feel exactly like you x

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/08/2024 12:45

@Arraminta and @Justmeonmyown we are all starting at same time

GoodLuckBabe · 16/08/2024 12:49

@MissFancyDay I am trying to stick to the official dosing schedule, but if I didn’t have a long day out planned tomorrow I would be considering injecting a day early this week. It will be my 4th 2.5mg on Sunday and today I feel like it has all worn off. Can’t stop picking at food and seem able to eat a normal amount once more. Overall have lost around 6lb in 3 weeks. Frustrating!

Exciting times! It's so lovely to have people to share it with. I'm going for a 2.5 stone loss then will assess to see if my face starts looking a bit gaunt.

Justmeonmyown · 16/08/2024 12:54

@Arraminta @Blondeshavemorefun
Thank you
It will be interesting to see how we all progress x

Week 2, Day 7, and I'm hungry like the wolf - but, have learned that a) because I'm hungry doesn't mean that I need or want a vast amount of food; have just very slowly eaten my lunch and that's been fine and b) hunger doesn't equal a massive cake, just what I need, which in this case is chicken, rice n salad. Hoping that this is what I can carry through from this. Next shot (2.5) this evening.

Voy have cancelled my programme with them :(

Anyone know how long bolt take to approve a request? I have applied through them but need to take my next dose on Monday!!! I don’t know how Voy think they can diagnose someone with an eating disorder based on 15 minutes of questions

Aww no I’m sorry. I use EMED. They really weren’t that invasive at all.

i filled in an online survey. Had a video call but all they wanted to do on that is confirm my id and see my weight on scales then passed to pharmacist who prescribed xxx

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 16/08/2024 13:02

@MrsHerbs79 bolt have done the standard picture so I'm going to wait and see what they say

HamAlive · 16/08/2024 13:08

I'm so sorry, @NeedSomeAnswersPlease . Have you managed to get a prescription elsewhere?

Welcome to newbies and good luck!

Trying my best! Just really can't believe they've basically said "pay for our CBT course and you can have it back". Shocking

Hello everyone!
I have read this thread from the beginning, all 35 pages! You all seem so friendly and supportive and I would love to join you all😊

I purchased my 2.5mg pen from Asda/Zava and did my first injection on Wednesday 14th August at midday.
So far no real side effects, just a litte dry mouth and sometimes a little mouth watering. I have noticed that I am not really hungry or thinking/obsessing about food.
I plan on staying on the lowest dose for as long as possible.

I have battled with my weight for years, I am really good at losing it when my head is in the zone, but then I use food as a self destruct crutch when life gets tough.
It has got much harder with intolerable cravings since hitting peri-menopause and I have now had enough of it, so here I am.

I am 5ft 9 and starting at 20st 3lbs.

I am going to combine using mounjaro with eating how I usually do when I am not being self destructive, which is 14-16hr fasting, just naturally how I have always eaten, before it became a thing. Then I will stick roughly to one main meal and a few healthy snacks, fruit, nuts, greek yog, protein etc a day.

Wishing you all minimal side effects and the results you hope for!

Love, Mabel

Sounds absolutely ridiculous and money-grabbing really. I hope you have success elsewhere.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 16/08/2024 13:18

@HamAlive it really is. It's basically just a money making ploy isn't it. Those who seem desperate enough will be told they have to pay for therapy first

MrsHerbs79 · 16/08/2024 13:25

So second check in done and about to take third dose!

SW 15st 11lbs
CW 15st 3lbs

8lbs down……..I’ll take that!

4lbs down week one and 4lbs down week two!

3lbs to another stone bracket that I’ve not seen in years!!! It’s within touching distance!

I started carlorie counting back in May and my original start weight was 16 stone 6. So it took me 3 months to achieve what Mounjaro has done in two weeks.

Does a little dance! 💃

Yes it is frustrating, I've had so few side effects on 2.5ml I'm ready to up the dose a bit already. But I understand the caution involved and will use the first month getting my calorie counting skills honed.

It is having some effect, I'm fuller quicker and fatty food doesn't agree with me at all, so all good.

MissFancyDay · 16/08/2024 14:11

@MabelSpan welcome 🙂

It sounds exactly like a moneymaking ploy. Do you have any doses left? I’d ignore them. Eating disorders is something they are meant to check about before prescribing, not after. Unless they are going to refund you in full including postage then I would not be accommodating their request.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 16/08/2024 14:40

@Blondephantom three left in this pen! I will wait to see what they say re sending it back and I'm waiting to hear from bolt. It's just sickening

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease what a ridiculous situation. They have cocked up massively by prescribing a medication to someone that they now think that it's not appropriate for and now they are trying to cover their tracks in my opinion.

Fairly sure they would destroy it when it comes back. I’d be using it rather than risk a break in treatment.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 16/08/2024 15:08

@Motnight I think so. I'm tempted to email and say I'm not comfortable sending the pen back as I don't know what they'll do with it and to just ask for a refund to be honest, why should I have to send it back?

Fair enough if I'd been diagnosed with an eating disorder but I haven't and I don't see why they would do this after a week of the pen being in my possession

They deffo asking for pen back as they deem you for whatever bizarre reason to be at risk taking it. They will deffo destroy it. Even if medication completely untouched and still sealed, the minute it is prescribed it cannot be reused. It’s an absolutely nuts system. It was tweaked slightly through Covid as there were shortages in morphine etc and when someone passed away the GP’s were allowed to repurpose some meds but has gone back to the norm again now xxx
