Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

Update - bolt have approved my prescription and it's processing, so I've now contacted Voy to ask them to send me details of how to return the pen. If Bolt isn't here by Monday I'll take a second dose of Voy before returning it and just do six weeks on 2.5mg, which I'm not too bothered about.

Voy's messages have become increasingly condescending though which is really frustrating as I haven't actually done anything wrong

That's brilliant news Flowers

Wingingit11 · 17/08/2024 09:13

I did dose 3 a few hours ago and oh my I feel newuseous this time ! Definitely convinced last weeks was not injected properly !
is anyone worried about moving up to 5?!

Yes, I'm worried about it. I am vaguely thinking of doing somewhere in the middle of the two doses for my 4th and/or bonus dose.

Wingingit11 · 17/08/2024 09:27

@WitchDancer I’ve bought the 5 already but wondering about buying another 2.5 on oushk while it’s on offer ..:. But I guess yeah can do the 45 clicks or whatever to act as 3.75?

WorriedRelative · 17/08/2024 09:35

So voy are shitty unethical money grabbers, no surprise given the way they incentivise their patients to advertise/spam on their behalf.

They inflate prices deliberately and offer a discount that makes their goods competitive if you do enough spamming.

Now we learn they also blackmail patients into buying additional services.

It would be shitty behaviour if we were talking about beauty products or health food but this is powerful prescription medication and potentially vulnerable people.

Disgusting and unethical. People should boycott.

Arraminta · 17/08/2024 09:38

Morning lovely losers! Woke up hungry this morning but was pleased to see I've lost 3lbs since my first jab on Thursday! But have also now finished my period so tend to drop a pound or two with that anyway.

Going to a big BBQ later and the food will be phenomenal, so wish me luck.

And they don't even tell you how to return the pen for a refund! I fell for it hook line and sinker but at least it happens now, rather than when I was on a huge dose that I wouldn't be able to switch with

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/08/2024 10:12

I do have a dry mouth. Was very tired and in bed by 9 last night but also work nights so by Fri I am dead lol but I woke up for a wee every 2hrs. Very annoying

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/08/2024 10:13

@Arraminta @Addictedtobeauty @HamAlive well done on losses

Welcome newbies. Same as me

WorriedRelative · 17/08/2024 10:21

I was surprised to find that I was half a kilo down this morning despite the arrival of my period yesterday evening. Probably explains the few days stall I had before.

Pushmepullyou · 17/08/2024 10:27

Hi everyone! Took my first dose last night, no side effects so far. Not sure if it’s working yet / not particularly hungry, but normally don’t eat until lunchtime so I wouldn’t really expect to be yet

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 17/08/2024 10:59

In more positive news I can't believe how I'm feeling on day 5! Still no side effects and I've had some grapes and a slice of toast and I'm stuffed!

Scales said a 2lb gain but I ate more carbs than usual yesterday, I'm due on my period in 5 days and I weighed after I had had a big drink. Not too fussed by it because I know I'm in a deficit and that it's not going to be fat.

weaseleyes · 17/08/2024 11:22

Hello all - am hoping I can sneak in near the end of the thread and join you. I had my first jab on Thursday night, so I guess this is day 2. Feeling ok so far - bit bleurgh, but I had a bit of a cold when I started and I'm not much worse than when I go on a normal diet.

I've been overweight at different points in my life, which I've hated, but managed to get back to a healthy weight most of the time until my mid-40s. After that it became much more of a struggle and I had to really restrict to see any loss at all. I tended to put on weight over winter and spend the rest of the year losing it. Then came the pandemic and with wfh I just piled on weight and it never came off. I developed all kinds of low level chronic health problems, all of which were at the very least exacerbated by being overweight. I'd lose some, and I know a low carb diet suits me best, but then I'd weaken and as soon as I started eating any refined carbs/junk food I'd find all my willpower dissolved and I stated feeling shit and healthy eating would go out the window. I think I'm insulin resistant and very sensitive to a poor diet now.

I'm hoping that now I'm 60 mounjaro will help me stay healthy eating for long enough to get past the point I usually give up. I need to lose at least 4.5 stone to be ok and ideally closer to 5 to nip under a normal BMI, where hopefully I can find the wherewithal to stay permanently. I've been really averse to trying it as I felt so ashamed that I've struggled so much with weight and haven't been able to shift it. The money is hard to find and I'm anxious about side effects. Honestly, though, I think I'm mainly scared that it won't work for me, I'll have no last resort left, and it will just be another failure where I feel I can't manage something that other people seem able to do. Hopefully I'm wrong! It's been great reading about all your experiences, thank you all.

AnnieMcFanny · 17/08/2024 11:50

Hi Weaseleyes, I understand about this being the last resort for you. It is for me also - I’m 66. All the very best to you on the journey.

Cleverchops · 17/08/2024 12:27

Voy don’t automatically send you the next pen do they?
I haven’t lost any weight in the second week so a bit disappointed really. My puffiness has gone but I have been so careful this week..
What other companies are people using? I don’t feel like shelling out for the second pen at Voy for that high price 🥹

Arraminta · 17/08/2024 12:41

Welcome @weaseleyes. I'm nearly 54 and my body now battles frantically to retain every possible ounce.

Arraminta · 17/08/2024 12:42

And welcome to @Pushmepullyou x

CremeDeSudo · 17/08/2024 12:52

I can't remember if I've said this here or not, but I'm finding it really interesting and reassuring somehow that there's so many women who clearly know so much about their hormones, how to eat, lift heavy etc etc and still can't lose so are now trying this. You are my people! Sometimes I feel like I could pass a nutrionist exam right now without doing any extra work because I've obsessed over it for so long.

I found similar in the FB group, but I've had to leave because although there are so many knowledgeable people on there, I got fed up with all the silly questions like 'why do you all keep saying to eat lots of protein'. It was too frustrating!

Facebook is full of competitive under eaters who want to lose ten stone over night, it's so bad!

Yes they do

Nervousmoosegoose · 17/08/2024 13:04

hi just had my 4th dose of 2.5 today but it seems like there’s a lot left in the pen? Should I use it for another week I calculated that even if I used it one more time it’s still within its 30 days so no worries there and I’ve had minimal side affects just a bit of constipation which lasts max 2 days at a time, what should I do just move up to my 5mg pen or stick with one more week 2.5?

AuntieDote · 17/08/2024 13:16

I’ve honestly found Voy great. I would totally respect their decision not to continue prescribing to somebody that they felt was outside their guidelines - I get that there need to be controls in place and we can’t all just buy powerful medication over the internet without any checks - am sure it’s regulated to some degree and they need to tick their boxes and maintain their audit trail. If calls are recorded, and something in that conversation triggered a ‘not suitable’ response then they’d have to follow that - even if we don’t necessarily agree with it or think it makes all that much sense to us.

Binge eating is classed as an eating disorder, and if their policy/ the terms of their licence dictate that they can’t prescribe to those with eating disorders then it is what it is. Even if you later clarify that it is controlled or not quite like that, I can understand them having to abide by their original decision.

What is unethical is 1) not being 100% clear about this upfront, before any money has changed hands and before any drugs have been dispatched. That’s terrible. And 2) not having the courage of their convictions - if it’s not ok to prescribe to people with a history of binge eating then it’s not ok. Just because that person then pays for another expensive product from you and ticks a few boxes, shouldn’t mean that any qualms you had about prescribing to this person should be overlooked.

I find it very hard to understand why they don’t want to prescribe to people with bingeing behaviour in their past. I hardly think there’s many people prescribed/ taking the drug solely for weight loss who have got to that point without some level of disordered eating. Bar a very few exceptions, nobody who has got to being obese and paying out hundreds a month to inject themselves with a powerful drug as the only way they can lose weight is going to have had an entirely healthy relationship with food all their life? Surely that’s the point of the ‘support’ Voy are offering as their USP?

AuntieDote · 17/08/2024 13:18

On that note, I think I’ll probably cancel with Voy and go elsewhere too. I was willing to pay more for what I have found to be a fast, reassuring and reliable service with some support I’ve actually appreciated - but honestly with the extra price and now hearing @NeedSomeAnswersPlease story I’m having a change of heart really.
