Continuation thread for the June 2024 Mounjaro starters.

Sorry to lower tone I seem to have different shades. I don't know if I am just noticing or its undigested food.

Yes, there was liquid when I primed it.

Also, I've started to get a metallic taste in my mouth and am less hungry.

I'm surprised by the speed of onset of effects from my first injection.

I have read many comments on here where posters say nothing has happened.

I wasn't expecting to feel anything quite yet, though.

I am literally eating nothing on the 5mg

No hunger at all. I attempted to force down some chicken and managed 3 bites.

I've eaten no more than 300 calories for each day in the last 3 days

Obviously I'm exhausted and couldn't exercise if I had to

I can't wait til this injection wears off a bit so I can eat some food. It's been 4 days !

I am 100% delaying my next injection by a few days so I can get to eat and build up my strength

Went to order my second pen and the website I’m using now wants a full body selfie. The photo capture was within the site itself so no ability to turn to outward facing camera and LET ME TELL YOU it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. My wee arms aren’t long enough and you could tell by my face in the picture I was going through all the emotions 😂

How annoying! I can’t even imagine how you do that!

Day 5 and 6 my appetite cane back with a vengeance with a mini binge. I felt sick for the first 4-5 days.

I’ve been using Mounjaro for a little while now and recently started experiencing some discomfort that I wanted to check with you all about.

I’ve noticed a pain under my left ribs, specifically towards the back. It’s not constant but seems to get worse when I bend or twist my torso. Pressing on the area also makes it hurt more. I haven’t had any major changes in my activity level, so I’m curious if this could be a side effect of the medication.

Has anyone else here experienced similar pains or discomfort in this area while on Mounjaro? If so, how did you manage it? I’m planning to talk to my doctor, but I wanted to see if this is something others have encountered.

Simple online pharmacy. They didn’t ask for one the first time round so it was a bit weird. They are very good though based on previous experience

I started 5 weeks ago and have just taken my first 5mg dose.
Am a bit scared of the side effects but I was hungry and had food noise for the last couple of days for the first time since I started so think it's the right thing to do. It's been life changing for me so far, I can't believe the difference the lack of food noise has made, I am saving a fortune on food which is just as well given the cost of the pens. I wish this had been an option sooner, I feel like I've wasted a lot of time thinking about weight and obsessing about food!

Hope the 5mg goes well. I am on 3.5mg at the moment but may go the 5mg. Like you I’m worried about side effects. So far seems to be ok but just listening out for food noise returning.
MJ is totally a game changer. I have a lot to lose but this is by far the easiest way I’ve ever found to lose weight.

Had to weigh in/inject a day early as I am away from this afternoon. Can't believe I've lost another 4lbs - this stuff is truly magical. I take my 2nd 5mg dose from my pen later and I'm down 23lbs in 5 weeks. Truly gobsmacked.

@AnnaBosque I’ve not had that and given its location I’d go get it checked out by GP. Have you done any exercises or gardening or lifting that it could be muscular and are you drinking plenty as if it’s kidney linked makes sure your not dehydrated- disclaimer I’m just a mum not a medic. I also drink a high5 rehydration tablet when I’m feeling bit crap as it helps rebalance my body salts.

I agree definitely see GP as that is a possible side affect of gall stomes it pancreatitis so best to be on the safe side. Both can be caused by rapid weight loss.

I have stuffed my face the last 2 days so have gained 2lbs probably water weight. Definitely ready for the next jab. ( 2nd of 5)

Anyone struggling with constipation?

Yep....started on daily All Bran.
I am living in hope that it resolves the issue.

Is it actually constipation though? The drug is meant to slow things down, so you feel fuller for longer, that's how it works. Plus, if you're eating half/quarter of what you used to, are you just used to pooing more?

I’ve been fine with constipation but I drink alot and eat apple as snack & berries with my breakfast, plus beans & lentils in my dinner. Look at whole foods & fibre plus plenty of fluid will help. Physllum husk is a good one or dates if really struggling to get things moving. MJ slows your digestion so it’s a regular side effect mentioned on the other thread.

It’s looking like it will be a slow loss week this week I’m in week 3, sticking to 1200c & exercising daily so I’m hopefull of 1-1.5lb loss that’s typical of my body I need 1.5l off to hit 12st which I’ll be delighted to see 11…on scales!
