@Callmejudith 🎉🎉🎉 on the size 14 dress! (Going to ignore the vomit😂)
@Summerheels & @daffodilandtulip 👋 from a fellow shortie. I’m 5'2 and the idea of being a 'healthy bmi' is just laughable. Haven't been that sort of weight since puberty!!🤦‍♀️

Just bread a comment in the main thread along the lines of '18 weeks to do what decades of dieting has been unable to do' and it's really triggered something for me. Feeling quite emotional about all the wasted bloody years when I have been called names and called myself names and been ignored or put down because of my weight. All that negativity and despair and THIS is all I actually needed. I am really a very positive person but my weight / size/appearance really has impacted my life and it's just so bloody SAD.

TheShellBeach · 27/07/2024 09:14

Yes! I feel livelier.

daffodilandtulip · 27/07/2024 09:43

@Summerheels yes yes to all this! Also, I had this obscure thing which I forget the name of, which caused a burning itching numbness in the side of my leg. It was caused by excess weight on a spinal nerve and the only cure was to lose weight. It's not totally gone, but I'd say it's 90% less painful 👏🏻

coffeeandteav · 27/07/2024 10:01

Well after a week in France eating baguettes, crisps and wine. I gained a pound. Eating better at home this week but had a 3000 calorie binge. Expected no loss but am down 6 pounds!!!

This is anecdotal and we have discussed it on here before but a metabolism week or day or eating more gives you a bigger woosh the week after. This has often worked for me. Crazy but I am not complaining.

Thats 2st 1 in 8 weeks.

Week 1 -8 15.8
Week 2-3
Week 3 -2
Week 4-4
Week 5-5 14.0
Week 6 -2 13.12
Week 7 +1 13.13

week 8 -6 13.7

Ohhh I had this. Also when I was pregnant. My whole leg went numb walking too.
Just put it down to just a thing that happened but now you mention it. I haven't had it at all.

WeAllHaveWings · 27/07/2024 11:51

Jag 6 due today after 5 x 2.5mg. Suppression has been lesson week 5 so need to move up. Side effects minor (feeling bloated/backed up)

Have my new 5mg pen ready and feeling as nervous as I did starting 2.5mg. 🤦🏻‍♀️. Swaying between "logical me" sticking to experts guidelines and upping to 5mg and "risk adverse" me taking it slower and going off guidelines with 3.75mg for a few weeks. This stuff really messes with my head! 😂

QueenEthelTheMagnificent · 27/07/2024 12:11

Week 1 done.

SW 17.12
CW 16.12

So a stone in a week. Still can't believe it. I know it's mostly water weight and in my case alcohol bloat. I am an apple on legs tho as I'm a shortie! All I've done in the past week is go for a 30 min walk before work (my job is fairly active anyway) so have managed at least 10,000 steps each day, and no alcohol, choc or crisps. I just don't want any of that stuff at all its v strange to not want what I've fueled my body with for the last umpteen years!

Wow! Well done @QueenEthelTheMagnificent - that is magnificent 😀

I’m losing slowly but am amazed that I no longer drink as much wine as I was doing. I can just have a small glass now and be done. I’m still having chocolate, but only small amounts and staying under my Nutracheck calorie limit of 1400 cals (I average about 1250 cals a day. If I could up the exercise I’d lose more, but I’ll get on to that in time.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 27/07/2024 12:54

@QueenEthelTheMagnificent bloody hell! That's the best first week loss I have heard of yet! Congratulations! 🎉🎉🎉 Fabulous start 😁

Re wine - I generally don't say this out loud anywhere but I have been a heavy drinker for years. If not an alcoholic, definitely alcohol dependent. And I never actually wanted to stop as I love(d) how it made me feel. I had a bottle a day habit which would def sometimes slip into the 2 bottles category on occasion and I can't really remember a time when I woke up not feeling groggy.

I HAVEN'T HAD AN ALCOHOLIC DRINK FOR 12 DAYS!!

And it hasn't been difficult! 😱😱😱

I started out looking for a decent tasting no alcohol wine but they don't seem to exist 😂 I like a dry crisp white and am very fussy! I then found Tanqueray Sevilla 0% and it is bloody lovely with a light tonic!

Have to admit that I am very wary about having even a glass of wine in case it triggers me but I will try at some point. At the moment I am just enjoying not being ruled by fermented crushed grapes and the £££ I am not spending on it!!!

This has been me too. Used my red wine as a crutch for years. Any excuse to have a drink. Bad day? Wine! Good day? Wine! Bit stressed? ..... you get the idea!

I agree with you it hasn't been hard at all. Honestly haven't missed it and feel better in myself already.

Trytowin20 · 27/07/2024 14:28

Not logged in for a bit, been on hol last week and still lost! Had pizza, curry, fish and chips etc. I ate less than i would have in the past but ate a normal portion iyswim.

Normally have my jab on a Thursday but didn't as on hol. Will do it today. 1st 7.5mg this time.

SW-111kg
Cw- 103.5kg
total loss 1stone 2lb according to nutracheck
Midgoal target-99.8kg

Summerheels · 27/07/2024 15:52

@IReallyNeedThisToWork that’s brilliant well done. My DH stopped drinking a few years ago (his DF is a recovered alcoholic & he was heading same way but in denial), honestly he’s a changed person but does still like a NA beer or more recently a Apple Tango. I was never a big drinker but haven’t had any since Jan and it’s not bothered me plus I feel a lot better. The issues come when social occasions revolve around drink& food but both us tend to do less socialising now instead we do activities with people mostly sport or craft so no alcohol needed to still have a good time.

I mean just from the point of view of the weight loss alone, that's what, 600 calories a day, or a pound and a bit a week in wine alone. When you add the other benefits on top that's a massive health boon in one fell swoop!

Callmejudith · 27/07/2024 18:03

@IReallyNeedThisToWork thats amazing well done!

We’ve almost filled this thread

Thanksforyourlackofthought · 27/07/2024 20:06

@IReallyNeedThisToWork
Amazing. Well done! Same boat here. I reckon most of my weight is wine and associated snacks.
I’m down just over 14lb in two weeks.
Took my third today (2.5) and have two spare needles so trying to figure out how I get the ‘bonus dose’.
I read an article, unfortunately I can’t remember where as I’d like to read it again, where the user was saying it hadn’t worked for her at all in the first month so she had given up.
I wonder how common that is?

Probably quite common I would have thought, you've still got to be invested in it and it's a financial investment too. Some people won't understand it wont necessarily work for a while so will write it off straight away. I've seen some people on the fb group who seem almost determined to eat through the suppression too!

JomonotFomo · 27/07/2024 20:20

I’m another who hasn’t had a drink since starting, I drank quite a lot and then would think “fuck it” and eat everything in sight.

I love that I'm not missing it

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 27/07/2024 20:23

Interestingly, alcohol never makes me eat😂 Almost the opposite in fact🤷‍♀️

Callmejudith · 27/07/2024 23:56

I could eat an entire Tesco superstore after one glass of wine usually 😂

Callmejudith · 28/07/2024 08:48

@Sewfrickinamazeballs will you create a new thread or I’m happy to do it

achangeofnameisasgoodasarest · 28/07/2024 08:48

Good milestone today

Lost ten per cent of my body weight - and I am no longer obese. Just.

NSV, been trying on lots of my old clothes and reckon they'll fit for our holiday next week - some of them I've not worn in ten years.

SW: 89.5 kg
CW: 80.2 kg
GW: 65 kg

Took jab eight (0.5) on Thursday.
