I contacted Voy and asked to stay on 2.5 for the second pen, hopefully that will be ok.

I went to a school event last night and a few people commented that I had lost weight which was lovely to hear. It was day 6 (injecting today) so I definitely had more of an appetite and probably ate “normally”
for the first time since starting. Also had Prosecco. I have the worst worst headache this morning - when will I learn ;)

achangeofnameisasgoodasarest · 04/07/2024 08:55

Fifth injection today - annoyingly my weight bounced up this morning so I'm only 13 pounds down rather than the stone I'd managed yesterday - still I'm absolutely taking that in four weeks! Managed the bonus dose using a diabetic syringe as suggested here - I think I got 0.8ml - not sure quite how much that is. Will see what it does!

Next pen next week is 0.5. So glad I started this - I'm off to DD2's school concert tonight and feel much more confident about myself at 13 pounds down.

intelligentPutty · 04/07/2024 08:57

Hey all, im on week 1.5 and i think i need to move to the Allbran as suggested earlier on the thread. Almost feel like i don't want to eat as its not worth it, and when i do full in about 20% of the meal i used to eat!
Can't wait to have a poo. I think I'll loose 3 KG when that happens as well as the loss already!

User4532456734 · 04/07/2024 09:32

Can I just post here that I saw a 19 on my scales today!!!! Have a lot to lose and progress slower than I would have liked so really chuffed to be under 20 stones!!!

I started on 3 June, had my '5th dose' this week so starting 5mg on Monday.

SW: 20st 10lb
CW: 19st 13lb
GW: 10st

Nervous and excited to start the bigger dose, ideally would like to lose more faster but my rational brain (and nutra check) says slow and steady is fine - if I carry on at this rate I'll be 16st 8lb by December!

SarahB88 · 04/07/2024 09:37

Is anyone else really tired? I assume it’s because I’m not eating as much as before but I have no appetite for it.

User4532456734 · 04/07/2024 09:39

Tired, cold and sweating a lot less when it's hot!

Summerheels · 04/07/2024 09:42

Well done @User4532456734 its worth looking at some of the posts on the mainMJ thread as I like seeing the steady weight loss others have posted to keep me motivated. Losing 1-2lbs a week and stalling is normal. Some that have more to lose have benefited more from higher dose pens but some haven’t but it’s all a journey in a healthier direction is my take. Plus my joints just feel So much better a lot less stiff it’s really noticeable to me.

Summerheels · 04/07/2024 09:44

I’ve felt tired on Day2/3 but I’ve also eaten less so I would focus on balanced nutrition your body still needs fuel to function or it will conserve energy for the main organs and make your extremities cold. Then again I’ve just been for a sea swim and it’s feeling particularly cold today!

User4532456734 · 04/07/2024 09:45

Thanks @Summerheels I'll definitely take a look at that thread!

Snozzlemaid · 04/07/2024 10:21

@User4532456734 Amazing loss. Well done.
It's such a great feeling when you move down into the next stone range.

I honestly feel, for the first time ever, that I can actually lose the weight I need to and no longer be morbidly obese.

I love walking up my stairs now as it gives me a clear indicator of the good this is doing, as it no longer hurts!

User4532456734 · 04/07/2024 10:38

@Snozzlemaid
I agree it's an amazing feeling!

Yep, I am definitely finding it easier walking - have been on the treadmill (very slowly I must add but it's a start!).

TheShellBeach · 04/07/2024 10:57

@User4532456734

I also started at 20st way back in January, and got down to 17st 8lb by the beginning of June. This was without Mounjaro.

That's when things stalled and I found I couldn't stick to my diet.

That's what always happens with me, though. I do well, then I can't seem to carry on.

So I decided to try MJ, to see if it curbed my appetite.

I had my first dose of 2.5mg yesterday, and my husband is really worried. He's never heard of these drugs. But as I haven't dropped dead yet, hopefully he'll calm down.

I would like to be 10st.

And for you @User4532456734 I recognise the joy you'll be feeling to see 19st something on the scales. Well done, and keep at it.

thesugarbumfairy · 04/07/2024 11:16

@User4532456734 congrats on getting into the next stone bracket.

Has anyone moved up a dose quite early in your dose week? I'm aware that you're allowed to after 4 days.
I took my 5th dose on Sunday night which was equivalent to about 3mg, and the food noise is back with a vengeance this morning, so I'm wondering if I should move up to 3.75 this evening. I really don't want to go to 5mg straight away.

Callmejudith · 04/07/2024 11:28

@User4532456734 huge congrats on the next stone bracket!

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 04/07/2024 11:46

Right, weigh day today, the last of the 2.5mg (and first 5mg jab later). I'm not sure how but managed a surprise 1lb loss this week which is amazing. I'm surprised as I attended a festival on the weekend, haven't been nearly as careful with food this week (and TMI still really bunged up). This stuff is a game changer.

SW 17st 7.3
CW 16st 6.3

Total loss so far 15lb

@TheShellBeach
I had the same concerns from family about 'buying drugs off the internet'. Though I have told them all now I had a call with my GP and she was very clear this was the best thing I could do. She also believes mounjaro will be available eventually on NHS not just for diabetes but to treat obesity aswell.

@thesugarbumfairy @Callmejudith
Thanks - I'm absolutely buzzing!

TheShellBeach · 04/07/2024 11:53

Well done @Sewfrickinamazeballs

Just out of curiosity, why are so many people buying online and not sourcing from your local pharmacy? I am £140 a pen for the month through my local pharmacy and I receive 121 support from the pharmacist who’s also using mounjaro but away to start coming off so is a good person for advice. She also provided me with an extra needle to get the bonus dose out normally.

NewLifter · 04/07/2024 11:59

Anna, hopefully you've consulted your doctor. You need to rule out issues with your pancreas or stomach (someone mentioned gallstones, but it's the wrong side for that). MJ can cause issues with the pancreas so it's vital to rule that out, so you need to make sure they know about the MJ. Good luck - hopefully it's just normal stomach pain 🤞

Because I live in a tiny village and our pharmacy doesn't sell it.

They'd also tell my GP and that's not something I'm comfortable with.

Megarea · 04/07/2024 12:20

Just taken second 5mg dose this morning.
By the second day of the first dose of 5mg I definitely felt more sick than I had on 2.5mg but was ok by day 3.
Some of last week's bigger loss was definitely the weather turning colder and my legs not swelling but still really happy with the loss and with it all just feeling really easy.
Have also lost 2 inches from my waist!

SW 252.6 lb
CW 237 lb

Total loss: 15.6 lb

I wasn't aware you could do this as an option

Yes, I’m absolutely exhausted and then when I go to bed, I have loads of energy and can’t sleep, which means I’m even more tired the next day.

I’m not sure if it’s the less calories for me though as I feel the most tired after eating. I do have thyroid issues though so that also contributes to my lethargy.

@User4532456734,@Namechangedone &@Megarea well done all! 👏

I don’t go to my local pharmacy for anything if I can help it. Even my NHS prescriptions are fulfilled online and posted to me. My local pharmacy is crap though - queuing for 45 minutes or more, plus their consultation would be loud and in earshot of the entire queue. No thank you, I’ll take the impersonal and anonymous service of the internet pharmacies any day over that 😆

TheShellBeach · 04/07/2024 13:29

Actually, now I come to think of it, there isn't a private room at our pharmacy.

I once had to discuss vaginal dryness with the pharmacist, in front of everyone else in the shop. I'm shameless, so it didn't bother me, but I can well imagine some people being put off.
