I'm moving up to 10mg next week, having steady 2-3 losses per week. I'm thinking ahead now to when I'm getting to 20-24 weeks. How do the different suppliers deal with continuing treatment? I'm thinking of sticking with click or med express, but wanted to know how they deal with longer term users. Thank you!

Hi @SuperSange, Med Express have said they’ll continue maintenance for up to 2 years after starting treatment, I think some other places have indicated similar. I’m guessing suppliers have only recently been provided with official guidance on maintenance doses and procedures.

SuperSange · 24/07/2024 07:54

@Greyrockin Thanks so much! I think you're right, I forget how new a regime it is.

Callmejudith · 24/07/2024 08:12

Second pen started this morning. I stuck with 2,5

SarahB88 · 24/07/2024 08:14

This is my third day on 5mg and I noticed a difference to my appetite yesterday but omg this morning I’m even struggling to drink a protein shake!! I’ve been nursing it for about 20mins and it’s just a regular 250ml whey protein shake. I’m having dinner at my parents tonight but luckily they eat tiny portions anyway so hoping I can get away with them not noticing my appetite as they don’t know I’m taking MJ.

What’s your go to lunch when you have zero appetite? I have no idea what I want today. I need something I can pick up from Tesco quickly as I’m having coffee with friends after our baby class so a bit worried I’m going to be full from the coffee but conscious I need to get calories in.

JomonotFomo · 24/07/2024 08:20

NSV I am wearing jeans people!! No elastic in sight…they are on the right side but how good does wearing something non stretch feel for a change!

Snozzlemaid · 24/07/2024 08:25

Today is weigh in and flab jab for me but we're away for a few days so I won't be weighing. I'll do my jab this evening.
Yesterday's food choices were not as good as when at home but I would usually have had an ice cream and cake when we stopped for lunch at a National Trust place.
We're in a self catering cottage and would usually buy snacks for the evenings. This time I have a packet of apples!
I'd not lost anything this week before we came away so I'm hoping that a few days of a higher calorie intake, whilst eating out, will prompt a loss when I get back home to my usual food.

Tirzepatide · 24/07/2024 08:30

It will be interesting to see how supplier's change their cut off with time. I'm not going to get to a healthy BMI for at least 10 months so I'm not going to change supplier yet. Currently with Asda (who cut off at BMI 25, I got that from the continuing thread - can't find it on the website after a quick look) - hoping they will change to at least 2 years & BMI 23 in time.

In the meantime I am very slowly building up some extra time by ordering every 4 weeks but using the bonus dose too...so once I start my 12th pen I should have 3-4 backed up in the fridge.

@SarahB88 - I have some cooked chicken and some blueberries or similar. Protein and fruit or salad anyway or I just don't worry about it as for some reason my appetite is always better in the evening so I just do 2MAD or OMAD.

Tirzepatide · 24/07/2024 08:51

YAY for the NSV @JomonotFomo !

Have a good holiday @Snozzlemaid !

CosyNan · 24/07/2024 09:02

I got my first pen from P2U with a discount , second from Cloud as they were £40 cheaper. Both times I had to fill in the questionnaire and wait to be approved. Cloud wanted evidence of taking the 2.5 before approving the 5 so I sent a photo of the box and half used pen.

If I change supplier for my next pen will I have to go through the whole process yet again ?

Also, very excited to see that Wegovy was approved for cardiovascular treatment and hoping it can be prescribed by GP.

Like many on here I was on the Tier 3 waiting list but no spaces. I more than qualify for free treatment ,BMI 40+ ,hypertension, high cholesterol, mild atherosclerosis ,mild emphysema, etc just too much red tape and too little infrastructure has forced us to buy privately in utter desperation !

Callmejudith · 24/07/2024 09:04

This made me chuckle today - my new pill case filled with supplements for when we are away

In case anyone is interested it’s:

glowwa hair supplement
electrolytes
zinc
tumeric
magnesium
then separately vitamin d spray

Tirzepatide · 24/07/2024 09:11

I've found it is Asda now (in patient notes rather than main body):

Once your BMI reaches a healthy range we will no longer be able to prescribe this treatment for you.

and they require new photos etc. after a year as standard.

If all goes well I want to continue taking this for two years - and that to include a tapering down/maintenance period. I know you don't need that but I've managed to lose fairly significant amounts of weight several times - it is maintenance I really struggle with! I figure if I have a good six months of help to maintain I will be much more likely to be able to do it medication free afterwards. I may change suppliers when my BMI gets down to 31, or so, if Asda don't change their policy.

@CosyNan - yes, I think you're have to do that every time you change supplier. If it saves you £££ though sounds like it is worth it. I'm too lazy to bother changing supplier that frequently.

mcdle · 24/07/2024 10:00

If anyone's looking for some 'interim' clothes but not spend loads Sainsburys have got a big sale on, just got two pairs of jeans and a pair of trousers for £10 each. They were decent too, wide leg, mom and cargo. They are also pretty generous on sizing so gave me a little confidence boost too!

Week 5 weigh in and I'm just over 16lbs down and gone from a 14 in their jeans to just squeezing into a 10 (the 12 was too loose 😮😮😮). Don't get me wrong I recon I'd still struggle to fit in a Zara 14/16 but every little helps

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 24/07/2024 10:06

@Callmejudith SNAP!😁
I use mine every day as it means I only have to open all those packets once a week😂😂😂

Mine has: biotin+zinc, lion's mane and joint ace which contains collagen, glucosamine, vit d, chondroitin, vita c, e, b12 and a load of minerals

Electrolytes are a powder and I also have marine collagen in my tea and then magnesium before bed. Crazy now I see it all written down! 🤦‍♀️😂

Honestly @SarahB88, I tend to use the days that I'm really not hungry as mini fast days, as I know I'll make up the calories later in the week. I tend to manage a smoothie and some eggs on those days, plus lots of tea, coffee and water.

I have decided to try and get some clear protein drinks though instead, I just don't like the sound of many of them and don't want sweeteners or sweet fruity tasting drinks (I don't drink squash or fizzy drinks really so don't have a taste for that kind of stuff)

Greyrockin · 24/07/2024 11:08

Lol, I've just ordered a new pill case with AM / PM sections as I want to stagger the pill popping (these are regular meds plus magnesium and hyaluronic acid) I want to add psyllium husk, iron, vits C & D.

Oh brilliant? Have you found it has a noticeable affect?

Well I definitely need to move up to 7.5mg tomorrow. I binged yesterday proving this is going to take some work. I had 3000 calories maybe more. Didn't even have a bad stomach as a punishment like some people. Carbs, fat, sugar the lot.
Old habits do die hard.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 24/07/2024 12:22

@Greyrockin I don't drink squash or fruit drinks at all normally but somebody on the main thread recommend Vilgain clear whey when I was asking for one without sweeteners.

I have the lemon splash and strawberry lemonade flavours and they are great! Not overly sweet at all. I dilute them with more water than it says and keep the bottle in the fridge so it's really cold when I drink it. I've found it's about the only thing that can get rid of the metallic taste in my mouth!!

I think they're about 85 calories and 21g of protein👍

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 24/07/2024 12:25

Ouch @coffeeandteav

I’m currently on my (measured by mistake!) 4.6 bonus dose and having a great week so was vaguely thinking about staying on 5 if it works this well. Was it going well for you to start with or been low suppression the whole way through?

thanks @IReallyNeedThisToWork - I'll try Vilgain

Do you have a referral code that would give you money off your next order too? Don't worry if not 🙂

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 24/07/2024 13:46

@Greyrockin nope, no code. I also meant to say they are only sweetened with stevia so not for you if you have a problem with it.

I have lost weight because I felt so sick for the first 4 days. By week 4 it felt likw it hard warn off. The food noise is back.

TheShellBeach · 24/07/2024 14:27

I had my first Voy coaching today.
She was very helpful. We talked for half an hour.

But future communications have to be via WhatsApp, which I've never used.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 24/07/2024 14:59

@coffeeandteav ew, sounds nasty! Hope 7.5 is kinder to you 😁
