There are so many weight loss injection threads, but I thought I'd start this for anyone feeling a bit deflated by their slower than average loses. It can be disheartening to see others losing multiple lbs per week when it is a slower process for some.

Can I join please! I’m about to take my last 0.25 dose on Saturday and (so 4th injection since starting). I’ve barely lost 1kg in these last 3 weeks and feeling very disheartened. Today I’ve been absolutely starving, can’t stop snacking, unfortunately there were some crisps and chocolate lying around the house (I don’t usually buy chocolate, my husband must have done!), which I have scoffed!

I’m yet to get the food noise reduction, will it happen when I up my dose? Due to start 0.5 next Saturday, and also travelling on holiday that morning, so I’m hoping it doesn’t make me feel ill as have to travel for about 4hrs!

You’re more than welcome @Shibr . Don’t worry, it sounds like you’re not super sensitive to Mj (!) but that doesn’t mean it won’t work. All the 2.5mg does is get you used to the medicines. You could believe, reading the Mj threads, that it’s normal to lose a big amount of weight straight away but it really isn’t. For everyone delighted with big weight loss (and good on them) there’s many more who need more than 2.5mg before they get any effect. This thread wouldn’t exist if that weren’t the case! I really resented the money 2.5mg cost more than anything, and I resented having to wait for a “real” dose to start, but I’m 9lb down in 9 weeks and I’ve lost weight on and off all my life, so I didn’t expect to be a huge loser. Are you getting any side effects? Those of us on the main Mj thread are coming to believe that slow losses seem to go hand in hand with fewer side effects, and when you hear some of the horror stories I’d rather lose slow than go through them!

im taking my fourth 5mg tomorrow and I’m still getting hunger pangs and cravings five days into each week. So I know my dosage isn’t where it needs to be yet. I have faith, I won’t lie and say sometimes it isn’t a struggle, but a pound a week is nearly four stone in a year and I don’t have that much to lose, so 🤞🏻! Hang on in there and keep posting x

Ifyounevergiveup · 21/08/2024 17:28

@Shibr oh ps I had so little effect from 2.5mg that I was perversely a bit scared of taking the 5mg but I had no side effects at all. I’m sure you’ll be fine but you could always take your fifth dose before you go instead of starting a new pen.

Just wanted to say, you're a voice of reason!
Thank you

@Pinkyp22 blushing x

Shibr · 22/08/2024 06:09

Thanks guys! I’m on Wegovy not MJ, so it’s a slightly different dose (0.25 then 0.5 and so on). I’ve not had any ongoing side effects except a bit of recent constipation and stomach cramps and diarrhoea the night after I took my third dose, but I think I may have accidentally eaten gluten so probably down to that!

I will switch the injection to Friday morning this week, so I can take it next Friday to give me a day grace for any side effects. I will persevere, looking at my notes I have actually lost 2kg and generally been eating fewer calories than I usually do. I have always been someone who likes a diet with initial rapid weight loss as it keeps me motivated, but that’s probably where I have been going wrong for years!! Thanks for the support @Ifyounevergiveup @Pinkyp22 !

Delphigirl · 22/08/2024 09:56

Argh I’m driving to France for 10 days and have left a bag at home with all my toiletries including my pen. Will miss 2 doses. So frustrating!!!

Ifyounevergiveup · 22/08/2024 16:10

@Delphigirl oh bloody sodding hell! I would be so mad with myself! Hope you’re more grown up than me 😀. It’ll be interesting to see how long the effects last…remind me what dose you’re on? And whatever…have a wonderful holiday x

Officially over a stone down now. It's taken nearly 4 months but I'm very happy with that.
I find my weight fluctuates wildly daily depending on hormones, exercise, salt intake etc. I can lose and gain 1.5kg overnight, so I don't get top hung up on numbers, choosing instead to go by how my clothes feel and weigh myself every other week or so (first thing in the morning, after a pee and poo of course)

This is happening to me at the minute and it’s driving me crackers! I would give a lot to see boring linear progression, however small!

Here's my linear progression.

Not as much as others in that time frame, but I'm not too tall and those lbs really do add up.

And here is mine - slightly longer than your journey, but 11kg since April. I have been stuck at 73 for a week, just can’t seem to shift anything and I’m on 10mg now 🤷‍♀️

I have weighed myself today, I have lost 1kg 🎉 now week 7, I started at 106kg, 16st 6 ish and now 100kg 15st 7 ish .
Feeling alot more positive, but my period is due next week and that's what caused havoc last month 🙄
Still on the fence about going up to 7.5 or staying on 5 for now

LeafUsAlone · 23/08/2024 15:48

Well done @Pinkyp22 and everyone!! Keep on keeping on! My weight hasn't moved in a few weeks but the last time this happened I then had a woosh and suddenly felt a difference in my clothes so fingers crossed that'll happen again

Today is injection day. Usually I'm feeling the appetite suppression coming away by Wednesday so often inject first thing Friday morning.
Just realised today was jab day as I've barely noticed any hunger. I am loving this mounjaro, what a wonder drug.

Summerhillsquare · 23/08/2024 21:00

Too late to join? Feeling slightly sorry for myself today but impressed by the charts - how are you making those?
At the pre-therapeautic dose I did well, no side effects and a kilo a week lost. Since 5mg and a shocking bout of diarrhea have not lost a sausage, even though I've eaten very little of anything let alone sausages for 2 weeks. Voy send you stuff about 'plateaus' but this seems too soon for that?

@Summerhillsquare never too late! Welcome to the Slow Horses! It could be a plateau but it could just be your body adjusting to a pretty impressive weight loss already. A kilo a week is an amount I can only dream of! Also, if your insides have been unhappy, that could cause things to slow down despite the diarrhoea. How many 5mgs have you had? Don’t be downhearted, you’re doing tremendously well!

Summerhillsquare · 23/08/2024 21:45

@Ifyounevergiveup that is so kind, and reassuring, thank you. Patience never was a virtue of mine!

I havent found the coach that useful with Voy lately, I'm kinda chasing her. Maybe time to switch. In reality i need to learn to meal plan!

LeafUsAlone · 23/08/2024 22:48

Welcome @Summerhillsquare. I completely get you about needing to meal plan, Ive been on holidays and my eating has been all over the place - grazing on snacks and not eating a nutrionally sound meal until dinner and the likes 🙃 I'm looking forward to being back into a routine!

I lost 10 lbs in the first two week, my period showed up and the scales went up 🙄 I then spent weeks 4-6 with those 2 extra lbs which definitely couldn't be 2lbs of fat because I wasnt eating enough to gain any!
I will echo what others have already mentioned, that were all different and respond in different ways. But the main thing is to keep at it 🩷

LeafUsAlone · 24/08/2024 10:09

I did a jab last night (couldnt tell you how many Ive done at this stage - started in April) and after 4/5 weeks of an increased appetite, I was back to feeling sick this morning. I'm sort of pleased that it's still working as I have such a long way to go, but I didnt miss this feeling one bit!!

@LeafUsAlone ooh, I too had an unwelcome experience: my first sulphur burps! And farts! Oh my GOD the farts!

I can only put it down to eating too much yesterday; I made pasta and thoughtlessly ate my usual amount…and then another spoon for luck…I knew straight away that I’d eaten too much for the first time since June and ugh, today has not been fun…! Mind you, mind you, given the resulting slurry I might have actually lost some weight…😀

LeafUsAlone · 24/08/2024 16:08

@Ifyounevergiveup oh nooo!!! 🤦‍♀️🙊🤣 I had them back at the end of June - just the burps, and I was mortified!! Thankfully it lasted the weekend and then eased off, otherwise I'm not sure how I'd have managed at work. I'm sure my students would have taken great delight in telling me 😳 Hopefully both ends clear up for you!!

I havnt had the sulfur burps, I have had indegestion which is usually my last meal repeating - not pleasant. I have found it is usually when I have eaten too much!

I have just completed a 20 minute Joe wicks work out thing which is positive because I hate any form of sweaty exercise. Bloody knackered
