There are so many weight loss injection threads, but I thought I'd start this for anyone feeling a bit deflated by their slower than average loses. It can be disheartening to see others losing multiple lbs per week when it is a slower process for some.

Its weigh day for me and I have lost nothing! To be fair the needle is wobbling between 91 and 92 but it was doing the same last week so I wont claim a loss.
So parculiar, all I've done differently this week is not drink alcohol, I mean I have absolutely no idea why but weeks where I have alcohol I lose more weight 🤔 go figure!
Never mind Ill be having a glass or two tonight and over the weekend 😂🙄

I am feeling more hungry yesterday and today so I think ill up my dose to 6.5 possibly 6.75 tonight - @Ifyounevergiveup what do you think?

NoMoreCheddar · 11/10/2024 13:50

I sadly put 5 pounds on during my weeks holiday and stretching out my doses. I wasn't even eating that much and swimming loads. I'm hoping some of it is bloating from travel 😕
I'm back on track this week with injections, but I feel like the 1.7 dose of wegovy is no longer working for me. I am going up to the final dose of 2.4 next week, which I have been putting off as it's so expensive. If I don't see a change on 2.4 I think I probably need to switch to Mounjaro.

It's depressing how quickly the weight can pile back on.

Ifyounevergiveup · 11/10/2024 16:06

@Pinkyp22 ah, that lovely alcohol dehydration, does the skin no good but looks great on the scales 🤭. If you’ve been hungry the last two days you know it’s time to go up but given how you reacted last time, why not go to 6.5 first and see how you go on? Unless you’ve no side effects at all, and even then I think I’d be tempted to play safe, given it hit you like a truck. If hunger strikes again you could always go up a couple of days early next week.

@NoMoreCheddar some of it will definitely be travel related, water retention…between you and Pinky you’ve got all the water bases covered! And of course it’s utterly normal to put on a couple of pounds on holiday, and isn’t normal what we’re all aspiring to? It’ll come back off in a flash because you’re far too sensible to do what I tend to…oh, I’ve put on weight on holiday, what can I gorge myself on before I get back on the wagon…and before I know it the Easter holiday weight gain is still there by Christmas… Please don’t be depressed. I hope you had a lovely holiday, made some memories and now it’s back to your routine. Chin up, my lovely!

Pinkyp22 · 11/10/2024 16:23

@NoMoreCheddar it is sobering to know how easy it is for the scales to go up and how bloody stubborn they can be to go down!!

@Ifyounevergiveup currently no side effects what so ever 🎉
I have noticed that I can eat more as well as hunger creeping in - I don't have food noise, but when dishing up dinner I have noticed I could very easily go back to huge portions had I shown restraint so yes definitely time to move up slightly, Id like slightly more suppression so I'm thinking 6.75 could I be brave enough to go to 7 🤔🤔

Ifyounevergiveup · 11/10/2024 16:54

@Pinkyp22 you go, girl! Maybe the equal division of however much you’ve got left in your pen will make up your mind? You know…if there’s 14 left then I hear two lots of seven calling!

No 10mg side effects yet but I did only jab last night…

Pinkyp22 · 11/10/2024 18:25

@Ifyounevergiveup I forgot to ask if any side effects had kicked in yet
Maybe this is your dose?!
Well as ive only been using 6.25 out of this pen I have about 0.3ml left from even after my bonus dose ( I know 30 days has passed but I am not throwing that out)
So ill have to do 2 injections, 1 whatever is left in that pen, then clicks from a new pen

Ifyounevergiveup · 11/10/2024 18:55

@Pinkyp22 I’d do the same, as long as it’s clear I’m not chucking any out!

Sorry the maths didn’t help you make up your mind; such a dilemma!

NSV: today I went out in a coat and dress which haven’t fitted since 2016

@Ifyounevergiveup surprised I got more than a whole dose out of that pen so I took 5.5ml, just over 6.75 but below 7! 6 doses out one pen 😱

🎉 That is fantastic, it's a nice feeling getting into clothing

Sadteacher · 12/10/2024 07:17

That’s amazing @Ifyounevergiveup I had an enjoyably irritating day yesterday as my work trousers were too loose and I had to keep hitching them up! No one at work has noticed, or rather commented yet.
I must stop reading the other threads, I love the tips and advice but can’t help but feel jealous about people who lose a stone in a month! I am pleased with my 11lbs/ 7 jabs in so need to remember that and stop comparing.
I think I ate healthily before I started, I just had big portions of healthy food. That’s why the weight hasn’t melted off. I have to remember I am a shortie! Hopefully, this will make it sustainable when I reach my target, I’ve never been a cake/crisps sort of person. Just had a large appetite!

CormorantStrikesBack · 12/10/2024 07:56

Not weighed myself for a few days and lost 2lbs in 6 days. Which I’m pleased with, especially as i didn’t think I’d been eating as carefully.

DropOfffArtiste · 12/10/2024 08:39

Week 7 and lost 2.5kg.

Ifyounevergiveup · 12/10/2024 09:42

@Sadteacher I’m looking at you and I’m seeing me (what a lyric, I’ve missed my calling!).

I had to come off the main thread even though I loved it so, because I was becoming consumed by envy. Which made me horribly frustrated. @LeafUsAlone setting up this thread was the best thing ever for me. I haven’t had to vent (well, whine a bit maybe but nothing like my howls of rage on the main thread) exactly because there’s no comparisons to be made. Plodding is plodding and we’re all doing it together! And when I’ve needed frank advice eg when I was trying to decide if 1200 calories a day was too much (it was…the joys of shortness and hormone irregularities!) it’s been here - thanks to everybody on here. And speaking of plodding, I’ve lost another pound today. It’s taken two weeks and so be it. However slow it is, I’m going in the right direction. Three more pounds and I’ll be lighter than I was when I was 15.

Congratulations on the misbehaving trousers. Clothes don’t lie!

Sadteacher · 12/10/2024 09:49

Well done on all the losses, everyone. I definitely agree we just have to compare ourselves to ourselves! I’m off to buy some more tights, I’ve decided dresses will be less annoying than trousers at the moment, I don’t think I’ve lost enough to go a size down yet.

Ifyounevergiveup · 12/10/2024 09:53

@CormorantStrikesBack @DropOfffArtiste look! A bunch of flowers each! 💐💐! You’re also going in the right direction!

@Pinkyp22 hello dear heart, I said I’d keep you posted on side effects on 10mg. Jabbed Thursday night and so far, nothing of any consequence except I was too cold to sleep last night. Get this. Lying on a flannel sheet, under a flannel sheet. On top of that, a six foot wide wool cellular blanket, carefully folded to the width of my body. Then the entire 6’ quilt, folded ditto. And thermal bed socks. Then had to get up and get a big Cozee Home throw from the living room and balance it on top!

The cats were furious. But by 1.30 I had managed to fall asleep.

May I stress most heavily that this was eminently preferable to slurry 😆

Dresses, yes! I love a dress! As easy to chuck on as a nightshirt yet everyone thinks you’ve made a huge effort! I didn’t wear them for years because I thought I was too fat. I clearly remember coming out of the M&S changing room in my first ever frock (! - but a frock it was) and asking the staff if I looked okay, because I genuinely didn’t know what a dress should look like on me.

I noticed M&S have some new heavyweight lace tights in this week; I find them as warm as opaques but prettier. Happy shopping!

TryingToHelpBut · 12/10/2024 10:31

Hi there, ok if I join you? I started in April at 15,4 - had to have a six week break in June for some tests (they came back fine) so restarted and am currently 12,12 at 10mg. It's definitely not been as effective on restart but I do lose about a pound a week. So I'll keep going on. What option do we have? I feel a lot better in myself so that's the main thing.

Pinkyp22 · 12/10/2024 11:13

@Ifyounevergiveup WOW what a difference to 7.5 then! 🤣 Could the cats even see you under all that? I hope you woke up warm and toasty.

I meant to ask but forgot, skinesis - is the brand sarah chapman? If so which do you recommend, there is serum, consentrate amongst other things 👀 but not on QVC

I have lived in dresses for the last 3/4 years now, I have one pair of absolutely hideous skinny jeggings things that look awful on my huge calfs - why is it always calfs? (My husband is insanely jealous of my calf muscles, childhood riding and being on my feet 12+ hours nursing in care homes for years means I've got mighty hefty calf muscles but fat too 😅🤔😩) and I feel so uncomfortable in jeans / trousers so I havnt worn trousers at all, apart from work scrubs for years
I am hopping / looking forward to one day having a pair of trousers that fit / flatter / aren't uncomfortable due to my belly

CormorantStrikesBack · 12/10/2024 11:15

I’ve just tried my new size 16 jeans on which I only bought a few weeks ago and have only worn once and they’re a bit too big! While I’m pleased in one respect that was also gutting that a £50 pair of jeans is too big. I’m convincing myself the slightly baggy look is in 😁

@Sadteacher is right, I think dresses when losing weight are probably the way forward

Ifyounevergiveup · 12/10/2024 12:09

@Pinkyp22 oh, I know the feeling. I call mine my Kevin Keegan calves. I had a foot operation a few years ago which meant I was in a cast for weeks. I had such a slim and shapely calf when the cast came off. Only lasted about a week!

The brand I mentioned was Skinsense. Abi Cleeves brings it to QVC and the whole range is pretty good for the price point. You can use the leave on mask for pretty much everything, eyes, face, neck…just slather on a thick layer and keep it on overnight. Good for all skin types; my oily combination skin has never broken out with it. Recommended for reasonably priced skincare especially if you get away with just the one product!

@TryingToHelpBut hi, Trying, welcome! Are you a Mj or are you on a different type of jab? You’re doing so well and your numbers prove that a pound or so a week produces huge results over time.

Sadteacher · 12/10/2024 12:59

@Pinkyp22 I have chunky calves too. I still live in hope I will be able to wear knee high boots with a dress one day. Although my younger colleagues wear chunky ankle books with dresses, I’m not sure how flattering they’d be on me but maybe that is a bit more on trend!

Pinkyp22 · 12/10/2024 15:02

@Ifyounevergiveup
Kevin Kegan calfs 🤣😂🤣
Silly me read it all wrong, have been googling Sarah Chapman all morning but you've now saved me £68 😅
@Sadteacher yes boot buying is a nightmare I have to have the stretchy ones, zip up ones will never zip up

Ifyounevergiveup · 12/10/2024 15:33

@Pinkyp22 @Sadteacher 🚨 show off alert 🚨 I got my only pair of zip up boots on last week; again, I haven’t bothered them with my company for eight years! Now before you think I have miraculously lost all my stone from my calves, they were wide fits from Clark’s; not wide foot, obvs, wide calves. Don’t know if they still make them, mind. In the intervening years I’ve worn cloth stretchy boots from M&S but they seem to have discontinued them nowadays. Shame, they’re much more comfy than leather.

TryingToHelpBut · 12/10/2024 16:50

@Ifyounevergiveup yes I'm on mounjaro. The time passes anyway doesn't it? Probably have to be on this or similar long term. Hopefully the price starts coming down once it's on the nhs.
@CormorantStrikesBack baggy jeans definitely are in fashion! You are ahead of the game.

GingerLiberalFeminist · 12/10/2024 17:55

Thank you for the thread. I came on here to see if there were threads on it not working!! I've lost a paltry 6lbs in 5 weeks and was getting down over all the people saying they lost stones in the first month!

Ifyounevergiveup · 12/10/2024 18:16

@GingerLiberalFeminist ooh, have a read through this one and you’ll feel so much better. I lost one whole pound in my first five weeks! It does work, promise, but for some people it just takes time. I was enraged on the main thread by sheer frustration and envy (reflecting entirely on me, not on those people who have lost from day one). So I came here and found out this was where my sanity was hiding 🤭. Are you a Mounjaro consumer or something else? (I was going to say user, but it sounded odd!)
