There are so many weight loss injection threads, but I thought I'd start this for anyone feeling a bit deflated by their slower than average loses. It can be disheartening to see others losing multiple lbs per week when it is a slower process for some.

@Ifyounevergiveup meant to ask you if we're going up a dose after 7.5? I am on week 7 in total with same average weight loss as you per week. On week 3 of 5 mg and feel pretty awful..headache and nausea and very tired. Got my 7.5 in the fridge ready. All the best 👍

Pinkyp22 · 08/10/2024 10:12

@Ifyounevergiveup that's brilliant news
Frustrating but when you keep chipping away 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Ifyounevergiveup · 08/10/2024 10:22

@Azuresky68 I was tempted to stay on 7.5mg but am getting breakthrough hunger at the end of my fifth week on 7.5mg and side effects are short lived. Given the prices are the same and you are supposed to continue going up if you can, I decided on balance to give it a shot.

Btw I hereby withdraw my previous endorsement of Care Pharmacy; despite their claim, they won’t price match, they just go on the headline price and don’t take codes into account, and I wanted to speak to the pharmacist about going up, got two times to call them and they weren’t available either time. Added to which they have never sent ice packs with the two pens I’ve had, they claim to (again) but the packs have clearly been put in unfrozen. The pens weren’t affected so I wasn’t bothered at the time, but this was something other posters on the main thread accused suppliers of at one point and I think it’s taking the piss, given how much the pens are.

So given they’re all in it for the money, I’ve gone with the cheapest - Curate, this week - and hope that DPD don’t let me down like they did @Pinkyp22 because I’m due my jab on Thursday!

I’m sorry 5mg has made you feel so unwell, but remember you’ll never double your dose again. Certainly I had the worst of my side effects on 5mg. I’ve hardly had to take Imodium or Windeze again since 😅! Hopefully 7.5mg will suit you better. Have a good day!

Azuresky68 · 08/10/2024 12:02

@Ifyounevergiveup, thanks so much for your reply..very helpful for me. The nausea makes me want to eat 😱 So far I have used Pharmacy4you - that was cheap and well packaged with ice and a cool bag. Then Medexpress with the £40 discountccode. Again well packaged with ice blocks and now with Ousch who gave a one off £25 discount. Arrived with frozen ice blocks. They are now offering next day delivery with Royal Mail as they have been having issues with deliveries. If you look on their website there's a permanent £10 off. Customer service is excellent and they offer 3 maintenance plans plus a support page on FB. On a separate note, here is a link to an overview of all prices for each strength. I can shaecit in here if thats helpful. Have a great day everyone xx

Pinkyp22 · 08/10/2024 12:29

@Azuresky68 I am going to be using Oushk in future. They do a permanent discount for blue card holders too so I'm happy.
@Ifyounevergiveup fingers crossed for you DPD dont mess around

Ifyounevergiveup · 08/10/2024 15:26

@Azuresky68 @Pinkyp22 hi guys, thanks!

More and worse info on Care Pharmacy. Out of the blue they are no longer prescribing Mj if you have PCOS or an underactive thyroid.

I asked if this was just Care Parmacy or a change to national guidelines. I’ve not had an answer but in the meantime Curate have confirmed my order. So it looks like it’s just Care. I didn’t want anyone to wait to order their usual pen from them (they deliver promptly so people might be only days away from needing a new pen when they order) then find they’re suddenly without a supplier.

Given these two conditions are well known for causing difficulties with weight loss, I have no idea what they’re up to, but let’s hope it’s not catching!

That's a bit alarming I have to agree

Hi everyone, I'm in this club too. I'm on week 2 of 5mg and the loss is slow. Like maybe 2lbs? I guess I'm one of those that isn't really affected by it, I've had barely any nausea or other side effects. I do feel less hungry and definitely food noise has gone but the weight is clinging on. I'm eating way less. Hopefully 7.5mg will help.

Is that blue light card?. I have one and can't seem to find the discount for oushk? . Found it for med express though. . Can you tell me how to get it please?

Ifyounevergiveup · 09/10/2024 08:50

@SaulHudsonDavidJones welcome! Glad to hear you didn’t get side effects from 5mg, a lot of people do. You’re right to hang on in there, a few people on this slow thread have seen their weight loss start to motor at 7.5mg. Deeply frustrating in the meantime though!

The medexpress blue light discount is first orders only, it works out more than the referal codes £40 off though so if you are a first time customer I'd use that

Oushk you have to email them with your blue light card details and they will send you a discount code

morbidcuriosity · 09/10/2024 10:43

thank you .. any chance you know how much the discount is?

I'm a long way from maintence so at the moment, I'm just shopping around and getting the cheapest with codes etc..

Its £15 off every order not limited to new customers
Not amazing but enough for me to go to them.
I really cant be arsed pratting about posting medexpress referal codes all over the Internet..... Which apparently is not what theyre suposed to be used for anyway 😅🙄🤔

LucyBnotG · 09/10/2024 16:57

I'm hoping to join in with this thread if that's okay? I keep my eye on a few different mj threads but since I have so much to lose, I think I will be a slow loser for a long time in order to reach any kind of healthy weight. My current loss is 27.5lbs after 12 injections of 2.5mg. I don't consider that slow but I can see the rates of loss slowing down and if I can keep losing 0.5-1 lb a week moving forward I will be very happy.

It's very inspiring seeing the journeys of people who are similar to me and I wish you all the best.

Ifyounevergiveup · 09/10/2024 17:33

@LucyBnotG hi LucyB, good to meet you! And I’m characteristically sticking my nose in straight away, I just can’t help my ridiculous levels of curiosity. Why so long at 2.5? Because you’re happy with your losses, I’m guessing (and rightly so, that’s a great rate)?

LucyBnotG · 09/10/2024 17:54

@Ifyounevergiveup hello 👋. I’ve stayed on 2.5mg for a few reasons. I am aware that it’s not supposed to be a therapeutic dose but it’s working for me. The suppression/side effects are well balanced and although I still feel hunger and cravings, both these and the side effects are tolerable.

My TDEE is around 2100 calories and this dose allows me to eat around 1500 per day without struggling. If I were to aim for a healthy weight I have over 100lb to lose so I didn’t want to rush through the doses. I’m going to stay on 2.5 while it’s working and move up as and when I need it.

Sadteacher · 09/10/2024 18:31

Hello, I’ve lurked for a while. I have had 4x 2.5 doses and 2x 5 doses and have lost 10lbs over the 6 weeks. I have the 7.5 ready to go. I can’t eat a lot for 2/3 days after injecting but then feel pretty normal for the rest of the week.
my starting weight was 12.7, I’m a shortie. I can’t wait to get to a stone loss!
Thanks for all who post on here, very motivating!

Ifyounevergiveup · 09/10/2024 18:40

@LucyBnotG ooh that’s lovely. I won’t revisit my hellish side effects earlier in my journey (for which everyone will be eternally thankful) but finding 2.5 working must have been lovely!

@Sadteacher hello lurker! How did it feel when you zipped through to the 11 stone something numbers? You must have been thrilled! We started at the same weight, it took me many weeks to break into the 11s but that was the day I thought Mj might work for me after all…

Pinkyp22 · 09/10/2024 19:05

@LucyBnotG you've lost a similar amount to me in 12 weeks
My weight losst on 2.5 wasn't very impressive , its only since 5mg that I started to see some consistency.
I agree with you about not going up doses too quickly, i got my fingers burned going uo to 7.5 so have been taking 6.25 ever since. Its working so far so I'm staying on that!

Sadteacher · 09/10/2024 19:14

@Ifyounevergiveup I do love a mini goal! Next one being 11- and single number pounds!
I do feel smaller, no one has noticed yet but I’m enjoying wearing a ring I couldn’t get on for a while!

LeafUsAlone · 09/10/2024 20:09

@Sadteacher and @LucyBnotG You're very welcome!! I agree that staying on a dose you're comfortable with the side effects and losses is probably for the best - a very sensible approach!

Thank you to @Ifyounevergiveup for being quick off the mark and attentive as always! You help keep this place going

@LeafUsAlone I love this thread and I can tell it will be comforting when I reach inevitable stalls and bumps on my journey.

@Ifyounevergiveup I consider myself very fortunate to be losing on 2.5mg. I think we all find our sweet spot. The side effects can be trying so no more needs saying! I was used to stomach issues before so I can withstand a lot but it's not fun is it!

Ifyounevergiveup · 10/10/2024 15:19

@Pinkyp22 DPD SCARED me! Sent a photo of my delivered parcel being held by a beringed hand which was very definitely not DP’s manly mitt!

Turned out the courier lady was holding it😂

10mg tonight, gulp!
