There are so many weight loss injection threads, but I thought I'd start this for anyone feeling a bit deflated by their slower than average loses. It can be disheartening to see others losing multiple lbs per week when it is a slower process for some.

@whyw What calorie deficit are you in?

Ifyounevergiveup · 04/09/2024 17:29

@Delphigirl I’m dancing for you! There is little better than breaking into a new stone! 🥳🤩

StaySpicy · 04/09/2024 17:58

@Delphigirl Yay! That's excellent, well done!

Delphigirl · 05/09/2024 07:34

Wow I’ve lost another 1.5 lbs yesterday! Don’t quite understand but I’ve lost 4.5lbs since Sunday! Maybe it is FINALLY kicking in… I’m pretty excited about it!

Ifyounevergiveup · 05/09/2024 08:12

@Delphigirl I’m not bloody surprised, that’s magnificent! This morning is my first 7.5mg - let’s see what appertains!!

Delphigirl · 05/09/2024 10:51

Oooh keep us posted @Ifyounevergiveup !

SnacklessWonder · 05/09/2024 13:10

That's awesome @Delphigirl and good luck @Ifyounevergiveup

I'll be doing my first 5mg on Sunday. My weight has been the same for 3-4 days but I've discovered that's the pattern every week now so I am less concerned! And also I was 10st 12.4lb on Sunday and 10st 10lb by Tuesday so that's already a good development this week.

Delphigirl · 05/09/2024 13:30

That’s great on 2.5!

so I need to reorder - do I stick to 7.5 or go up to 10 do we think? Bearing in mind my total loss is 11 lbs which has taken me 12 weeks… 😱
that’s quite some cost per lb
i feel like maybe kick it up a notch. No side effects so far. But only been on 7.5 for a single pen with a 10 day break in the middle… help?

knackeredcat · 05/09/2024 16:28

No loss for me this week but no gain either, so I guess I'll have to take it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Still craving flippin' kimchi, though! I've only managed a few forkfuls at a time. Appetite is still low but I expected more curbing on 10mg than what I'm getting as food noise came back on Monday evening despite that being my injection day.

Argh, onwards and hopefully upwards...

SnacklessWonder · 05/09/2024 16:31

I don't know what I am really expecting on 5mg to be honest, I'd like to maintain a 2lb a week weightloss if possible. So far...

Week 1 - 2.5mg = 5.6lb loss
Week 2 - 2.5mg = 2.0lb loss
Week 3 - 2.5mg = 2.4lb loss

My overall goal is to lose another 24-30lbs.

Well. More Mj in and of itself won’t make you lose more weight. But if you’re getting hungry, and you aren’t getting side effects, I’d go up. I think it’s a when you know, you know scenario. For example, I was hungry every day on 5mg, more than I was on 2.5mg. My big bonus dose has taken much of my hunger away, so much so that this morning I forgot to take my first 7.5mg jab! Normally I’m counting the hours. So I’m going up to 7.5mg with confidence. I guess what I’m saying is, are you eating little enough to lose weight and are you hungry? If the answer to both questions is yes, I’d say it’s time to go up. Hope this makes sense!

@knackeredcat Well I guess that makes sense, though. Unless you injected very early in the morning your Mj level was pretty much at its lowest on Monday evening. It’s a long time since I read the titrating info kindly posted by someone, but I seem to remember it showed your Mj levels are highest by day 3. Keep on with the kimchi and keep us up to date!

Pinkyp22 · 05/09/2024 17:28

@Delphigirl
If you have no side effects, and weight loss is still on the slower side, I would continue to go up the doses as they advise to do. If I really felt amazing on a dose and weight loss / appetite supression was good I would stay on it.
Its discussed a lot staying on a certain dose, and I guess it is for each individual to decide. But I think it is important to remember that the official guidelines from the manufacturer is to go up the doses every 4 weeks. For some staying on a single dose for a while may well be great and thr best thing for them, but others may well need to follow official guidelines to reach optimal weigh loss

Ifyounevergiveup · 05/09/2024 21:52

Remembered to take my first 7.5mg tonight! So I will let fellow slow losers know on this thread whether the improvement I felt with my bonus jab persists, now that I’m on a “proper” 7.5. 🤞🏻

@Ifyounevergiveup After my ordeal with losing my bonus 5mg dose, I will be joining you taking my first 7.5mg after work today, a little nervous

SnacklessWonder · 06/09/2024 08:03

My scales aren't budging again this week. It just seems to be the pattern here!

Ifyounevergiveup · 06/09/2024 08:36

@Pinkyp22 hurrah! We can find out together!

Ifyounevergiveup · 06/09/2024 08:37

@SnacklessWonder ah, that’ll be that pattern you’ve recognised! Hang on in there!

Pinkyp22 · 06/09/2024 08:41

I have just about managed to lose 2lbs this week ( don't use digital scales)
It is very strange
This week I have had 0 alcohol, below 1200 calories every day without fail, and exercised, ive been parking a street away when visiting patients at work so I have to walk, ive taken stairs all the time ( did 4 flights the other day) walked up and down hills.....

I conclude I actually lose more weight when I eat more calories and have a few drinks, mind boggles.

Delphigirl · 06/09/2024 12:54

Thanks for the advice - I’m going up to 10 😱. Combination of slow losing and appetite suppression wearing out on about day 7 means I think I prob should.

Ifyounevergiveup · 06/09/2024 15:53

@Pinkyp22 it’s muscle I tell you! I got those analytics scales and it’s amazing how my fat percentage has dropped and my muscle percentage has gone up. As has my water percentage. As you all know from my constant lamenting, my weight isn’t changing much, but nevertheless my body fat has dropped from 49% to 44% since starting Mj and my muscle percentage is teetering on 30%. I always claimed to be fit under the fat and now I’m starting to be able to see it in numbers! Point is, your body will be working hard improving your percentages, too, and it does happen quite quickly. I always used to roll my eyes at people who went to the gym a couple of times then used the muscle being heavier than fat line, but turns out I was wrong, it does have an effect right from the start.

7.5mg last night. Had to eat my breakfast at 11.30 but it took a long time (I was working on a computer at the time and would usually have inhaled it) and it’s now 4pm and food could not be further from my mind. This is a New Thing. Let’s hope it continues.

Pinkyp22 · 06/09/2024 16:20

As always the voice of reason @Ifyounevergiveup no side effects yet on 7.5? Sounds a good start to me.
I have today realised I no longer need to wear large gloves at work , L has so much excess room I have actually struggled to do things in them 😱 it suddenly dawned on me why, I can now comfortably wear M gloves.

Do you know I think that’s definitely a thing because I’ve been on MJ since April and have lost just over 2 stone. I’ve lost it very slowly but every time I’ve had a lot to eat I’ve gone up a couple of pounds but then lost 4. I think it resets your body and the research shows if you break a diet you will lose more as a result.
move eaten more this week but still lost 2 pounds, doesn’t always make sense does it!

Striving4Better · 06/09/2024 21:05

This morning, officially hit the 2 stone lost since I started in January!
I'm a daily weigher and now that I'm approaching BMI 25, the week does wobble up & down a bit:

Sat: 9st 8lbs
Sun: 9st 7.6
Mon: 9st 8.4
Tues: 9st 8.2
Weds: 9st 7.6
Thurs: 9st 7.2
Fri: 9st 7lbs

Going in the right direction, though. I've found chicken to be the best protein. I should probably try eating some white fish for a change. Just for info, I'm trying to stay on the lowest possible Wegovy dose and am on 0.75mg.

This week I found a photo from when I was larger and it really helps me see progress. I'm now going to have to go up in the loft and find those smaller dresses I'd packed away - the ones I've been wearing all summer feel like a tent!

Shibr · 06/09/2024 21:35

Second dose of 0.5 (so week 6). No appetite loss, just craving carbs and sweet things. I’ve never liked Haribo type sweets, but have been stealing them off my child (given as a present from grandparents as we don’t usually have them in the house). I also can’t seem to say no to wine! Is it the sugar? I feel like I’m actually putting on weight.
