There are so many weight loss injection threads, but I thought I'd start this for anyone feeling a bit deflated by their slower than average loses. It can be disheartening to see others losing multiple lbs per week when it is a slower process for some.

Happy September All!

114 days, or 16 weeks until Christmas (sorry, not sorry!)

😶 Not my favourite time of year but I have the week off work / uni so I'll take it. I've not touched a roast dinner for months, I wonder what I'll feel like by then!

😆

I worked this out the other day and decided another stone by then was perfect. To be 11st again...!

Hi everyone back from 10 days holiday for which I forgot to bring my pen 😢. Missed one dose and a day late with another. In France. I did eat 2 croissants and drank 3 glasses of champagne but tried to be generally good and in the end only put on 1.5lbs so I will take that as a win.
back on the mounjaro and had only some home made gazpacho so far today - glut of tomatoes awaited me!

Hi Delphi! You have been in my thoughts! Delighted with your news, that’s an absolutely fantastic performance which you did all by yourself, remember! Soup up and that gain will be gone in no time!

StaySpicy · 01/09/2024 18:13

That's a decent holiday gain, @Delphigirl ! Honestly, I think it's far more realistic to expect a small gain when you're in holiday than to not enjoy anything and try to stay the same. And thank goodness you allowed yourself croissants and champagne - a holiday in France can't do without!

Delphigirl · 01/09/2024 19:29

Ahhh thank you both! It was a fab holiday…

Ohh yummy - the holiday foods and the glut of tomatoes! I agree with @StaySpicy that enjoying the holiday and expecting a small gain is the a more sustainable way to do things - and you managed that without your pen!!!

Official weigh-in for me today. Completed three doses of 2.5mg, took final one last night.

SW: 11st 7.8lb
GW: 9st
CW: 10st 11.8lb

So 10lbs in 3 weeks which isn't bad. If I could keep up with a 2lb loss every week I'd be happy with that but am sure it will slow further.

Next mini goal is to get to 10st 7.8lb which will be a whole stone.

Haven't got anything to derail me in next two weeks but have a work trip coming up which will mean no weighing for three days and impossible to track calories or manage my food well so got to hope the 5mg kicks in. Will skip hotel breakfasts with colleagues!

Pinkyp22 · 02/09/2024 19:20

Today has been the first time in 8 weeks I have felt like I could eat my feelings. I havnt, I have managed to rationalise what I am feeling and control the urge to binge eat.
I had a really stressful day at work and have felt hungry all day. When I got home, I really had a strong urge to resort to binging on crisps and other stuff to comfort myself as I always have done.
I don't know how I have stopped myself but I have. I even did a joe wicks work out for distraction!

Ifyounevergiveup · 02/09/2024 20:51

@Pinkyp22 oh, I’m sorry you’re having a crappy time but wow, how’s that for breaking a pattern? You must be so proud of yourself (as well as knackered)

StaySpicy · 03/09/2024 08:49

@Pinkyp22 Well done for recognising the trigger, the emotion and then doing something about it!

I lost another pound so that's my 1st stone! Since April 20th. My weight now stays with an 11 so that makes me happy!

I'm still assuming for another stone by Xmas, but I'm not holding myself to it. No pressure for once!!

whyw · 03/09/2024 08:58

I posted before but just wanted to update - I am now in my 23rd week of Wegovy and I am only now starting to see changes. Not on the scales - I've still 'only' lost just over a stone in that time which feels so little but my body has changed a lot! Also, I was getting the side effects before but still had food noise and could easily over eat. That's changed - I'm leaving food most meals.

Ifyounevergiveup · 03/09/2024 09:13

@whyw hi! I was just rereading the thread yesterday and wondered how some of the names were doing! Glad to hear from you and I’m inspired by your stickability. I’ve had my bonus 5mg this week (don’t know if you have the same thing with Wegovy?) and so far (injected Thursday, today’s Tuesday) say it quietly but I seem to be experiencing food suppression for the first time! Ate 800 calories yesterday rather than my usual 1300 and had no hunger at all. Usually I’d be chewing my own arm off. Could this finally be starting to work for me?!

ToBeOrNotToBee · 03/09/2024 10:50

These scales are hilarious. Truly.

Apparently I've only lost a measly 3.7lbs since the end of July. Which on its own would be truly disparaging and I'd have given up now.

But. But. I'm not in a size 12 jeans. Size 12. I wasn't even a size 12 in my teens for gods sake. I've gone down 2 whole dress sizes, one in the last month.

The scales don't tell half the story do they.

I agree
Ive 'only' lost a bit over a stone and I am down a dress size. This never happens to me when I lose weight, being tall and a larger frame It hasn't shown on me untill I have lost at least 2 stone. Even when I got to 12.5stone once I'd only gone from a 16 to a 12!
My L work scrub trousers are falling down 🎉 and I now have room in the XL top

SnacklessWonder · 03/09/2024 12:10

I've not measured myself but you've inspired me to go and try on some clothes to see how they are fitting.

SnacklessWonder · 03/09/2024 12:11

And just to add, I lost two stone a few years back and I went down ONE dress size. From a 14 to a 12. My BMI was about 23/24, I don't know how low I'd have to go to get to be a 8/10.

NoMoreCheddar · 03/09/2024 12:43

According to the scales I have only lost one pound in the month of August. Not great, but my size 16 jeans are now feeling a bit loose on me. At the start of this I was size 20. It's incredible slow progress for me, but at least it's progress.

I know I should probably go from 1.7 of Wegovy to the max of 2.4. But it's too expensive for me.

dmott · 03/09/2024 13:47

I've shockingly gone down 0.2lbs since last Tuesday.

I guess a loss is a loss.

Pinkyp22 · 03/09/2024 16:28

@SnacklessWonder the only thing that's ever been a size on me is my feet 😂
I have never been a size 10, ever 😔 maybe I can get there, I'd be happy with a 12 though

Shibr · 03/09/2024 16:49

@whyw
Thank you, that’s so encouraging. I’m only on week 5 and the first week of the 0.5 dose. I still have all the food noise, I’m still craving sweet things which I never did before and eating and drinking the same amount! I guess I was hoping for a miracle, my friend lost 4kg in the first 2 weeks, I’ve been feeling very despondent. I will persevere!!

Ifyounevergiveup · 03/09/2024 17:59

@Shibr and comparing ourselves unfavourably with others is why @LeafUsAlone set up this thread in the first place, so you know we all know how it feels!

I did say I’d post to let Mj users know if going up to 7.5 helped, hence my post this morning. I promise 2.5 and 5 had hardly any effect on me. A little less hunger in the first few days then nothing. And very little weight loss. Well, less than I hoped for anyway; 9lb in 10 weeks. But the bonus dose on Thursday has lasted longer (it was a pretty generous amount) and I finally know what it is not to be hungry. I’d bounced up 2lb but I’m back to the lowest I’ve been since starting Mj, and I’m hoping this week the scales will finally start to move, especially as I can suddenly eat so little without being hungry. I’ll post again towards the end of the week to log how the “proper” increased dose affects me. @whyw I am in awe of you, keeping on after 23 weeks. You make me ashamed of my whining!

I am aiming to be a 10/12 overall. I won't be able to maintain anything else - well not without being miserable, and it's not worth it!

I endorse this message! That’s great @Pinkyp22

v pleased to report I am 0.5 lbs lighter than when I went on holiday, and have finally dipped under 13st for the first time Whoo hoo!

Ohhhh I have whined! I've been so frustrated and, to some extent, I still am. I stupidly thought it would be the answer to all my weight issues and annoyingly, it's only the answer to some.

A friend of mine started a similar time and is nearly 4 stone down - that makes me want to cry but we are where we are. Hopefully I'll look back in another 23 weeks and feel happier about the progress. Who knows.
