No worries ! I’m about to do the form myself to ask when they will send mine !

Rainbowl · 02/04/2024 09:17

Thanks @ObsidianTree and thanks to everyone who guided me here from my thread. You gave me permission to invest in myself 🙂

Scalessayeek · 02/04/2024 09:29

@Stickthatupyourdojo yes I emailed them
through the form with a photo of my previous box. They then emailed to ask when I had started the prescription and what date my injection was due on so I'd give all that info straight away if you can.

Scalessayeek · 02/04/2024 09:41

I've had a despatch email GrinSmileShock

Mortigua · 02/04/2024 09:41

I’ve just had an email to say my order has been dispatched !!!

Thought I'd let you all know, I use a great site called Nutrition Geeks who sell supplements.

Excellent quality, no shit fillers, just a small company but very reasonable prices.

I'm not sure how much longer it will last, but spend over £20 and get 30% discount on your whole basket with the code GEEKY30.

Hope it helps someone. 😊

Stickthatupyourdojo · 02/04/2024 09:54

Thanks ladies, great news on your pens being sent out 🥳

Pigriver · 02/04/2024 09:56

Hi all,
Please don't use the same needle to inject the second dose when 'doubling up'. As someone said the needle will be blunter and more painful but also you are increasing the risk of bacteria re-entering the body.
There was a terrible case of a lady becoming severely ill when a Dr used the same needle to try (numerous fails) and take blood. She almost died and is now in a wheelchair.
The risk is small but I just wanted to warn people. Needles are 'one jab only'.
You can buy extra twist cap needles if you don't fancy the diabetic needles.

Been on Mounjaro a week and a half and I’m 11lbs down. It’s been a revelation to me not to think about food 24/7, nor think about sugar the minute I wake up. Freedom! No side effects except feeling really cold. Today is the first time I’ve felt hungry, hope it doesnt get any stronger. For the first time in my life I wonder if I might actually reach a healthy weight! My goal weight is actually still above a healthy BMI, but at 5”3 it’s lower than I’ve been since I was a teenager.

Do you have to send a body photo with Med Express? I thought they just wanted pics of your current meds box? I already have the 5mg box waiting and am in my 4th 2.5 mg jab, so will not be looking to order from MedEx to save money until May, but I am likely to be close to a normal BMI by then if all goes well, so don't think they'd prescribe. I will have to stick with Asda, which is more expensive. Kicking myself a bit because a friend recommended Med Ex.

Insomnia is a killer, I hate it. I just take what i need for it now. I have a son with ASD that frequently wakes for long periods in the night and wakes up most nights. He takes melatonin (obvious doesn't work well for him), but it's hard to get in the UK. You can get it OTC in most other countries, which is mad. I have used 5-htp before and some people swear by it, but it didn't always work for me.

I was just about to type that I have no appetite suppression after jabbing last night, but am finding it hard to finish two poached eggs and spinach as i type, so I guess it is working after all.

I don't know if this is useful to anyone, but i did a free trial of nutracheck and then got an offer of an annual subscription for 27.99, so £2 a month. It is pretty easy to use and I've found it very helpful in understanding my calorie intake. I am not intending to diet for the year, but decided to get it as it will be a part of the lifestyle change I hope to stick to.

You are absolutely right.

KeepingUndercover · 02/04/2024 10:07

Are the twist pen needles just generic if you do want more? I wish MedExpress would send more than 4 as if you mess one up for some reason you don't have a spare to switch to.

MelissaLouRocks · 02/04/2024 10:09

Wow, Med Express must've had their weetabix this morning, just had my dispatch email as well. 😁

Those who are calorie counting, what is your daily allowance?

My Fitness Pal has set mine automatically to 1200, I've been doing OK on it but have gone over today as I've treat myself to a chocolate bar (my first in 3 weeks!) and refuse to feel guilty about it as I've been working really hard.

Does 1200 seem quite low to you?

Yes 1200 too low for most adults. You need to do a tdee calculator. Then set nutracheck or MyFitnessPal to your cals. A protein target helps me too.

stomachamelon · 02/04/2024 10:12

Sorry to say again but if anyone is a new starter and wants a voy code this will make if half price. Not sure if it works for a change/ or 5.0.

Hope no one minds me posting feel free to ignore.

Stickthatupyourdojo · 02/04/2024 10:18

Thanks @Pigriver I've read your post just as I was about to do that. I'll take my usual dose and see if I can get some needles next day delivery on Amazon and do it tomorrow.

Does anyone have a link for needles to use for the 5th dose please?

Investinmyself · 02/04/2024 10:22

Theres definitely still an element of willpower for me in 2.5mg, I ate more over weekend including chocolate. I’m back logging my food today.
If you are struggling for protein Aldi do nice protein yoghurts 25g protein.

I've still got the paper cover for mine and it says they are Omnican 5mm fine needles. These seem to fit all the details on them: https://www.easymedshealth.com/products/omnican-fine-pen-needles-5mm-32g-x-100

Pigriver · 02/04/2024 10:24

Yes these should be fine. I've had different ones from 2 suppliers so they must be generic/different brands available.
A great price too. It's about that much for 20 diabetic syringes. A small price to pay for safety.

JanetSnakeholeMacklin · 02/04/2024 10:29

Talking of needles, when I ordered from Asda, they sent 6 or 7 needles. Just letting you know in case that is a consideration.

I took my first 2.5 last Thurs, so I'm on day 5. I do feel hungry if I haven't eaten the past day or two (I didn't feel any hunger at all the first 3 days) but I still lose total interest in eating once I've started, and I'm still eating less than usual.

Soukmyfalafel · 02/04/2024 10:35

Yes I got 7 needles with Asda too which is handy. I can post brand name on here if anyone wants to look them up.

I ordered these. Were much cheaper, and the same as sent with my original pen.

Thank you everyone. It's £15 for next day delivery annoyingly for those on the link posted but super helpful to know about them for future purchases and for others so thank you.

I've found these which I can get next day delivery on via prime I think, do you reckon these are up for the job? I think they are but my head is a complete sieve at the moment - when I posted that discount code up thread earlier this morning I thought it was excellent, it's only about £15 Blush
