@ByCoolMoose yes but going to count the clicks and do 0.7 or 0.8 as had a few side effects and worried about doubling the dose 😩 going to take it this evening and hope for the best. I'm off for a day out in London on Saturday and really don't want to feel rotten.

Thanks Moose. Yes, because I can’t work out if rhey’re serious or not. There’s a lot of central pain when it happens, only relieved by vomiting. But I wasn’t aware of having done anything to trigger it - wasn’t forcing food i didn’t really want down or anything.

I totally understand, I would be worried too. Does your prescription provider not support or advise what it could be?

Aaargh, so frustrating! Week 10, and week 2 on 1 mg, and barely 1 lbs loss! I'm actually at loss what to do - I'm eating half the portions I did before, eating healthy stuff, high protein, low carb, veg and almost no sugar. Alcohol, my nemesis, is down from few glasses every evening to few glasses once a week, if that. I go to gym 4-5 days a week, 10 minute cardio warm-up and then strength for 1 hour. I walk over 10 000 steps a day, drink lots of water. What else can I do???

I'm thinking of intermittent fasting, but I go to gym in the morning and I feel I should eat high protein food after gym to prevent muscle loss. I could skip dinner, as I'm not that hungry at evenings, but I do all the cooking, so it would be strange if I cook and not eat?

I was hoping to stay on 1 mg for another month as side effects are tolerable, but seems I need move up in 2 weeks time to see if 1.7 mg is more effective.

Anyone can relate? Or am I one of few very unlucky ones 😭

Radish12 · 10/05/2024 13:31

Today I'm wearing a beloved old skirt that I haven't worn since summer 2017 🤗

Radish12 · 10/05/2024 13:35

@ByCoolMoose Has it been a long plateau? If not you might just need to give it a week or two. I mentioned here before that I seem to have settled into a pattern of two weeks of good losses (2-3lbs), then two weeks of 0.5 or 1lb losses, then good ones again. Surely it's hormonal?

Thanks Radish, maybe I'm inpatient and comparing to others who loose a lot and quick. It's definitely hormonal, perimenopause is full on. Maybe I just have to accept it will be very slow for me, maybe 1 year, so I should be glad for 1 stone loss in 3 months. Looking at the graph, it is moving in right direction.

Awesome getting into an old skirt! 👌

Wegovy
Oldandcobwebby · 11/05/2024 08:56

Time for my weekly accountability check-in.

Male, 60, hypothyroidism

12 weeks in and calorie counting - aiming for around 1200 kcal per day
Currently on 0.5mg

SW 197.3 lb
CW 171.2 lb

Total loss 26.1 lb
This week's loss 0.9 lb

After losing nearly 3 lb last week, this is a bit of a disappointment, but a loss is a loss! I'm really constipated, too. An elephant-sized poo would take my weight down much more!

Only 3 lb away from a "normal" BMI.

I feel so much better. My self respect has increased remarkably. The old bloke that lives in my mirror certainly looks more svelte! (Pity about the face, though...) Wegovy is definitely one of the best things I have ever spent money on. It's been genuinely life-changing.

I hope everyone reading this has a fantastic week - we've got this! 😃😃😃

Radish12 · 11/05/2024 12:07

I agree @Oldandcobwebby, I feel so much better in myself physically and mentally, I definitely carry myself better.

@ByCoolMoose That is definitely a trend in the right direction! I know it's frustrating to feel like you're only losing a little each week but it really does add up over time and if it takes a year, well then it takes a year - the time will pass regardless. I'd definitely say persevere.

Only 0.5 off again this week for me, I'm due my period in a couple of days so am trusting I'll have a bit more of a drop next week. That said, I've had a bit of a stressful time at work with my role changing unexpectedly, and am quite dismayed at how quickly I turned to food for comfort. The only damage limitation being that I was physically having to force myself to swallow it all so gave up in the end. After Wegovy that won't be an issue so I'll have to really watch myself in any stressful situations.

Achieveanything · 11/05/2024 12:27

weekly weigh in:
SW 15st 6lb
CW 13st

total loss in 18 weeks 34lb

only a pound down this week but the constipation and nausea struggles were real and I think I actually might not be eating enough to lose weight.

ive taken the advice and counted clicks on the 1.7mg pen last night for my 6th dose. Feel enormously better today than I normally do on a Saturday when I normally can’t even face a coffee.

thanks very much for that-
need to see the weight start with a 12 next week but I’ve bought psyllium husk and am hoping it’ll kick in.

congrats to all loses big and small- it’s all in right direction and there’s no better feeling than being comfortable in your clothes!

ByCoolMoose · 16/05/2024 14:01

How is everyone doing? It's gone quiet here.

How is the OP, @BlueMumma2018 doing? Last month you mentioned you were not eating well on 1.7 mg. Have you moved to the max dose?

I'm considering if I should move to 1.7 mg in 2 weeks time or not. I haven't lost much on 1 mg, but not too bad side effects other than extreme tiredness and some nausea. I'm treading the higher dose will bring on the bad side effects, but maybe will help more with weight loss. Not sure what to do.

BlueMumma2018 · 16/05/2024 14:58

Hi @ByCoolMoose

ive just started 2.4mg (I think!?) max dose.

so far working well. I realised that I really let myself slip and wasn’t making any effort to reduce calorie intake. I subconsciously used it to eat loads of junk food as my sole diet? Anyway, now I’ve recognised that I’m already a few pounds down this week. I’m eating much smaller portions and don’t have any nausea at all. Only if I eat past what I can handle

Toooldforthis36 · 16/05/2024 16:00

Hi all! Yes it has been quiet! I went for another month on the 1.7mg as I was struggling a biT with nausea, subsiding now thankfully. So another 3 weeks then I will head on up to 2.4mg…

overall delighted - 2 stone and a few pounds down and feeling good. Now I need to really concentrate on fuelling myself properly nd get back to some decent exercise. Have been doing Pilates and walking, want to add in some cardio/weights now to really tone up.

hope you are all doing ok xx

Hi @ByCoolMoose - I can't believe it's been 10 weeks since I posted after my first injection, and you were exactly a week ahead of me!! TBH I've found it all v slow going. I got a 1mg pen 2 weeks ago, but I've been too scared to go to a full 1mg jab yet. I've done prob just under .75mg the past couple of weeks and have felt some slight, but very manageable, nausea. But otherwise all ok, I just struggle to eat much in the day, even best laid plans of eating a healthy chicken salad sometimes goes by the wayside as I just don't feel like it! Anyway, in 10 weeks I've lost exactly a stone (14lb). I feel like that is pretty slow going as some weeks nothing at all happened, but I guess that's a good result so far. Unfortunately it's not terribly noticeable yet, i'm down to 13st 2lb but still have a way to go. I'll keep on and try to very slowly increase the dose but will probably still order a 1mg next time too. Wishing everyone else well!

LadyWithLapdog · 16/05/2024 21:58

I’m still reading. I stopped after 2 months, about 3 weeks ago. I’m maintaining, same 0.5kg lost and regained from week to week. I’m exercising a lot. I feel hungry, sometimes overwhelmingly so, but I’m not craving chocolate or crap. Overall, I’m still very pleased I used it and lost weight with it. I’m so happy I started exercising again. Good luck all.

bubbletubble · 17/05/2024 07:53

I've moved up to the 1mg pen but only doing around 0.7 at the moment (incidentally does anyone know where I can buy some more needles from? Chemist4U are out of stock 😫)

I'm 18lbs down in total now since starting 10 weeks ago, only 2 more lbs to go until I'm my pre-baby weight (shes two and half now!) so will be lightest I've been in 3 years. Still want to lose another stone - jeans are feeling looser and I'm gaining a bit more confidence with how I look but not quite there yet.

Despite some pretty horrible side effects, I'm pleased I've done this - after pregnancy I tried every type of diet and only lost a few lbs despite being really disciplined. Just wish it wasn't so expensive!

Achieveanything · 18/05/2024 11:54

Morning all,
really lovely to hear from the originals on board and glad to hear people are still losing.

SW 15st 6lb
CW 12st 13lb

total loss since Jan 12th- 35lb

delighted that all clothes looser, not been under 13st in years- that’s a massive boost for me.

Took good advice to start counting clicks on 1.7mg so dosing just under 1.0 on Friday nights, appetite still suppressed, symptoms drastically reduced and steadily losing a pound a week.

Energy not as low and able to enjoy meals and a couple of drinks much more. I think the process of eating and making better food choices when I do has made a huge difference. The constipation has abated and I’m not sure if it’s reduced dosing or psyllium husk working but either way feeling considerably better.

I plan on continuing with 1.0mg pen when the 1.7mg runs out, if I can get hold of them.

this wegovy has been a miracle for me, it’s gotten me out of so many bad habits and I will come off it gradually when I get into the mid range healthy bmi zone.

starting today to exercise again, that extra weight made it tricky initially due to exhaustion. It annoying as I see my body the same way (same pouch and spare tyre) just dimensions smaller (wish I had taken measurements at start), but exercise will alter shape.

good luck to all

ByCoolMoose · 18/05/2024 13:07

It's good to hear how's everyone doing, @BlueMumma2018 keep us updated how 2.4 mg goes. Where do you get yours? Boots wants £249 for 1.7 mg, so I'm thinking changing the pharmacy.

@Toooldforthis36 , 2 stones is amazing, well done.

@Coldinhere , amazing, 1 week apart, but pretty much same weight loss, I lost just a stone too in 10 weeks. I'm 12.9 stones now, so hoping to get rid of at least another stone. It's not very visible though, other than a bit less bloated belly, smaller boobs and smaller bum - the last two could stay as they were, but typically it's where the fat goes first! Hopefully I won't get the dreaded Wegovy face 😂

@LadyWithLapdog , that is really great to hear you're maintaining, as there is always the fear: what happens after?

@bubbletubble , I bought extra pens from Amazon, got a pack of 100 for £10: Glucorx Carepoint Ultra Pen Tips 32G x 4 mm (100 Pcs/Box). I wish it wasn't so expensive too, especially as getting up to 1.7 mg jumps £50!

@Achieveanything , it's amazing news, and massive loss! Well done 👏

ImPunbelievable · 18/05/2024 23:14

Well I made the mistake of injecting my normal 1.7 dose this morning before a night out. After 4 drinks I just made it to the bar bathroom in time to throw up Blush never get sick from alcohol but I just can't tolerate it on wegovy.

BlueMumma2018 · 19/05/2024 00:26

@ByCoolMoose i will keep you updated. I used bolt pharmacy I think it was £245 for 2.4mg. I am going ok this week. I have changed up my routine a bit and been going to the gym weight training. So it has made me feel a BIT hungry because I’m burning quite a lot off, I’m not eating near as much as I would do normally whilst weight training. Still having an issue with knocking sugar on the head but I’ve realised it’s an addiction 😭

Time for my weekly accountability check-in.

Male, 60, hypothyroidism

13 weeks in and calorie counting - aiming for around 1200 kcal per day
Currently on 0.5mg

SW 197.3 lb
CW 169.0 lb

Total loss 28.3 lb
This week's loss 2.2 lb

I'm a day late this week, after a lovely holiday in West Wales, involving fish and chips (small portions!), cake and ice cream. Mmm...

After expecting to stay much the same, losing a kilo was a fantastic result.

My big news is that for the first time in 30 years, my BMI is "normal " - exactly 25!!!! I'm so bloody happy about that! It's only just in range, so I'm going to lose a few more pounds before trying to maintain.

Congratulations to everyone on here on your successes and perseverance, especially @Achieveanything on hitting that huge milestone. We are all doing fantastically well!

Oldandcobwebby · 19/05/2024 13:19

Thank you so much @givenup123 ! I just realised that I've broken the two stones barrier, too! Wegovy is amazing stuff.

givenup123 · 19/05/2024 13:20

@ImPunbelievable

I’m the same. Used to be able to drink several glasses of wine and barely feel any difference. Now my max is two before I feel sick so I’ve pretty much stopped drinking now and am discovering non alcoholic alternatives!
