@Nicebloomers great news! Did my first jab last night and nothing to report! Have downloaded the Weightwatchers GLP-1 plan so I can track food /weight and keep an eye on protein. So far have hit protein targets and need to up water and fruit/veg…so soup for dinner tonight! Not feeling hungry - but not feeling unhungry if that makes sense!

Good luck!

Nicebloomers · 17/01/2024 15:56

@Toooldforthis36 sounds like you’re off to a good start!

BlueMumma2018 · 17/01/2024 18:52

Hi all!

week 1 weigh in and I lost 4 pounds this week. To be honest I didn’t think the scales would have moved at all as did eat out once and haven’t really counted calories. I kind of winged it so I’m happy with that 😊

can report the side effects - I was in London on Saturday and we went out to eat, I had a burger and chips with a coke (it was our anniversary!) I felt so so so stuffed for the entire day/ night, I mean like Christmas Day stuffed. Had terrible wind haha. So for me the only side effects have been kind of gastro problems when I eat a big meal that’s ‘unhealthy’.

I started wegovy on Monday, it has really reduced my appetite, I've eaten 600 cals so far today and I'm genuinely not hungry. Will make sure I have something this eve. No side effects yet!

Toooldforthis36 · 17/01/2024 19:06

@BlueMumma2018 great start 👍👍

how’s your appetite been?

BlueMumma2018 · 17/01/2024 19:41

@Toooldforthis36 well I haven’t had any low blood sugar attacks which is huge for me! I’m not diabetic but get really shaky and faint when I’m on a diet usually. I don’t feel hungry per se, it’s more like I can feel when I’m running on empty and know to have something to eat then. But it doesn’t matter what it is I have no cravings for anything ‘nice’. How are you?

Toooldforthis36 · 17/01/2024 19:56

That’s great @BlueMumma2018 - I didn’t think it was having much affect as I was out for lunch and ate pizza! But haven’t wanted to eat a thing tonight, cooked dinner for DH and wasn’t fussed about having any, that’s unusual for me!!

Please help me. I did my second dose today but when I pressed the needle all the liquid did not go in. I forgot to take the needle cap ( stupid I know). So did not inject into the skin.
I did inject what ever was left but most dropped on the floor.
Shall I inject another dose? Don't know what to do.
Thank you

amarante · 17/01/2024 20:14

Anyone please

Tindrum · 17/01/2024 20:26

@amarante i would contact the pharmacy that prescribed it and get their advice. You never know they might replace your pen. At the very least they will give you the most informed advice.

If it's only your second dose then you're still on a low dose. The side effects you'd experience if you overdose would be pretty horrific as you need to ramp up slowly. Do you have a clear idea of how much you lost? Given that you don't know how much went in, I'd avoid injecting again. Put it down to experience and get back to normal dose next week. What mg dose are you on?

Tamega · 17/01/2024 20:55

This is my second dose of 0.25.

Tamega · 17/01/2024 20:55

Changed name.

Toooldforthis36 · 17/01/2024 21:01

You really need to speak to the pharmacy you got it from from advice x

Nicebloomers · 17/01/2024 21:02

Oh no! Sorry to hear it didn’t go to plan @Tamega . If it’s any consolation I read about slowly counting down from 6 AFTER I did the injection and IMMEDIATELY took the needle back out. First dose 😬we live and learn.

Tamega · 17/01/2024 21:23

I will can then tomorrow. It is pharmacy 2u.
Thank you

So <this> is what it feels like to not wake up starving and thinking about food. I’ve been awake since 5am when my dog woke me up 🙄and I’ve had 1 cup of coffee and I’m starting to maybe get my head around eating something (it’s now 9.25am). Early days but I’m already quite impressed.

That’s such good news, it’s quite bizarre isn’t it? I’m the same, had a normal lunch yesterday and made myself have an apple about 430 (wasn’t fussed but trying to keep fibre going), couldn’t be bothered with dinner.

its just gone 11am and I’ve made myself eat fruit & Greek yogurt, wasn’t that bothered then either, it’s quite unusual for me…

Whatcolou · 19/01/2024 10:45

I’m struggling a bit, has dose 3 on Wednesday and I’ve lost 5lb which I’m delighted with. I’ve got bad heart burn and cannot go to the toilet. Has anyone taken anything to help with constipation? I think I’d feel so much better!!

Toooldforthis36 · 19/01/2024 11:18

@Whatcolou sorry to hear you are struggling. I’ve downloaded the weight watchers app and following the GLP-1 plan designed for those on weight loss meds. It has a fruit and veg target to hit each day so that’s a useful goal fibre wise, how are you doing with fibre in your day generally?

might be worth looking at that or taking a fibre supplement? X

trulyunruly01 · 19/01/2024 11:20

My constipation hasn't been anyway near as bad as yours sounds, but I've found some Tesco vacuum packed prunes in my morning yogurt have helped immensely. A good string black coffee too.
I'm 3 0.25 injections in, half a stone down, trolling on...

Pushkinini · 19/01/2024 12:15

I'm on my 2nd dose of 0.25 and have been a bit bunged up over the last couple of days. I've taken a couple of senna tablets in the evening before bed and they've helped move things through.

LunaLovegoodsLeftEyebrow · 19/01/2024 16:52

Just taken my 2nd 1mg dose. 16lbs down in 8 weeks, but it has definitely speeded up a bit this past week - in general
Not hungry at breakfast
one egg omelette for lunch
i try to have some veg for dinner, I can hardly eat anything!

Feel good though - can feel the difference in my body already. I have another 3 st to lose so it will be a long haul.

Nicebloomers · 19/01/2024 21:49

I never thought I’d have to make a conscious effort to eat 1000 calories 😀

Striving4Better · 19/01/2024 22:10

Milk of magnesia can help things along, @Whatcolou.
