Anyone starting wegovy this week?

would love to hear from others starting out.. I’m nervous!

I joined ‘Voy’ on an automatic 4 weekly plan. So I checked last week and they will just send through the second batch and charge to original payment method.
0.25 x 4 £169 and £229 thereafter.

agree on the price. It is not cheap, but I’m probably saving quite a bit in snacks/ lunches and really, trying to lose weight has always cost me £ (slimming club fees, special foods, gym membership etc) so I don’t begrudge it. I wonder if it will ever be freely available on the NHS?

Agreed, I would spend that on snacks and booze easily.
apparently it will be available on prescription from the spring. I heard that from a dr friend so hearsay rather than concrete

Order now. I only use Superdrug so not sure about other wait times. I order when I inject my 3rd and pick up before I inject my 4th to give me a buffer

I actually go one further and stay a whole pen ahead - so when I'm starting one i order the next. Gives me a nice buffer.

Just had the 0.5mg approved via boots so one more 0.25mg on Tuesday to go then I’ll switch up 👍

it took about 4/5 days to get from Boots last time and they sent me a reminder this week to order the new one, guessing stock levels and lead times similar..

I can’t order more until Monday. My last 0.25 dose will be on Wednesday so I guess I will have a weeks buffer to get my next pen.

Also burping. So much burping! Any advice? Am I eating too much fruit do you think? Just chalk it up as something I have to put up with?

Just ordered my first dose. Feeling excited! My main aim is to loose weight so I can get back into exercise, has anyone noticed any negative effects with exercising while taking this?

Also I don't want to be onthis for ever, can anyone reflect on how to come off this without bouncing back?

@wibble44 I'm only on 0.25, but so far no issues with exercise because of the medication.

The only issue is I'm not slept great some nights and therefore am tired (too tired to travel to the gym) or if I have a headache which may, or may not, be due to Wegovy. Also, if I'm not eating loads, this gives me less energy for exercise. Walks etc are ok if I'm a bit off-colour. Indeed, they are supposed to help with digestion.

I started tonight. Got the pen just before Christmas. Have a 7am workout planned tomorrow so hopefully won't feel too rough. I've been working out a lot recently but really need something to control my eating!

Thanks @BlueMumma2018 and @Toooldforthis36! That gives me a lot of hope @BlueMumma2018, I’ve just done my 4th dose of 0.25 so fingers crossed for an effect when I step up next week.

Yes all the burps! It is easing off though 🤣 interested to see if it ramps up again with the increase in dose…

And a 1.5lbs increase in 2 days 😫😫 literally eating the same kind of thing as I have been?!? And not much of it either.

Menopausal metabolism is a kicker, literally no wiggle room. Feeling I need to get some weight training in somewhere?

i weighed today and put on a lb, I think I need to consciously up the eating of healthy superfoods and not just have a small portion of the usual rubbish.

In previous times of dieting I have found there is a sweet spot for losing weight and under eating really hinders that. I have to eat between 1200-1400 calories or I don’t lose anything or worse, I put weight on.

Yep, the Wegovy is not something I can just carry on with forever- and actually don’t want to, I’d really like to enjoy a glass of wine again- but it’s about the big picture and learning not to let my eating habits spiral out of control.
i think I’ll get into calorie counting this week and try and stay in the habit.

I started the 0.5mg dose last night and it wiped me out. I’ve not slept that long since having kids. It’s weird!

How's everyone getting on? I'm going to do my first injection this evening.

i have my last 0.25 on Wednesday but I’m looking forward to going up to the next dose. I feel like I’m ready to go up. The hunger is creeping in.

Good luck @Cuzco , I’m about to do 0.25mg #4 tomorrow before upping to the next one. Very similar to @Nicebloomers - I’m very ready to step it up! About 10lb loss since starting - that’s pretty good for me, so I won’t complain..!
