https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001wqdw?partner=uk.co.bbc&origin=share-mobile we were talking a few posts back about fitness trackers and their reliability for calories burnt (not very). I was listening to this episode earlier today.

Sliced Bread - Fitness trackers - BBC Sounds

How accurate are fitness trackers?

Hello 👋
Can I join you?
I took my first 0.25 dose this evening. I am hoping for great things. I was on Ozempic this time last year (until it was impossible to get hold of and the price went through the roof). I was deemed to be a ‘Super responder’ so hoping that Wegovy has the same effect.
Like others I am an emotional eater. Unfortunately I have PTSD so overeat a lot! Really hoping this works for me.
I have been really inspired by you all so thank you for sharing your journeys.

Berlioze · 07/03/2024 22:36

Guys. My 0.5 order just got lost, tracking shows it went to the wrong depot in error. It was dispatched yesterday. Shall I wait or worry? How long can Wegovy stay safe in transport for?

starlilly88 · 07/03/2024 23:17

@Striving4Better thanks for the tip, I will order some as it would probably be useful to have some spares anyway. Today has been tough, just have to do my best until it's time for 0.5

LadyWithLapdog · 08/03/2024 06:47

@Berlioze i think they can last a bit as they have that protective ice. Also they say you can keep it out of the fridge. May be best though to email your prescribing pharmacy.

Hi all 👏🏻 I'm joining the gang, first 0.25 injection this morning. I'm probably the heaviest I've been and just keep piling it on, I had really good success with WW about 8 years ago and kept the weight off for quite a few years so I know I have willpower and enjoy healthy eating, but I guess the last few years it's been creeping up and I just feel like I am struggling to get on top of it due to other stresses in my life right now (meno, teenagers 🤪, work) and I just need something to help quiet the food noise so I can get on top of a healthy eating plan. So, I start today. My stats are:

5ft 7in
SW 14st 2lb

but just one quick question - I have literally just injected now (which I was really panicking about!) followed all the instructions in the video sent by Boots, I assume the needle was in and the counter wound down - but I didn't feel a single thing! Panicking now I did something wrong? I assume it is all right though, it's just the needle is v small and designed to be painless?

Oldandcobwebby · 08/03/2024 09:37

Checking in for accountability.
This is after 4 weeks on 0.25mg

Male, 60, hypothyroidism

SW 197.3 lb
CW 186.0 lb
Target weight 168 lb

That's 11.3 lb (5.13 kg) down in 4 weeks, so an average of 2.8 lb a week. I'm absolutely over the moon with that!

No side effects. No effort! I'm tracking calories on my Fitbit app. Taking in about 1400 kcal per day. I'm not doing anything faddy, just portion control and no crap like crisps and chocolate.

Just off to do my first 0.5mg injection.

Toooldforthis36 · 08/03/2024 09:46

@Oldandcobwebby great stuff 👍

@Coldinhere Welcome! I was exactly same - I felt nothing and wasn't sure the needle even went in, but after the dial went back and I counted for 10 (I know it says 6, but just in case 😁) and slowly removed the pen and I saw the needle was inside the skin and no liquid so it must have gone in. Saying that, I had no effects of the first 0.25 at all - neither good or bad. I've injected second 0.25 dose today, so lets see what week 2 brings.

Coldinhere · 08/03/2024 09:59

Thanks @ByCoolMoose - exactly same for me! I'm sure it was all ok, I don't know, I just expected to feel something! That's great you haven't had any symptoms so far. Do you feel your hunger has decreased though? Good luck with 2nd dose. 🤞🏻

Berlioze · 08/03/2024 11:31

Thanks! I got my parcel, I went to the depot as soon as it opened and luckily they had it. Phew!

If anyone is in the same situation, this is the advice I received.

Wegovy
Berlioze · 08/03/2024 11:37

I don't really feel the injection, barely at the beginning. If the pen was clicking and the amount went down to 0 then it's fine.

I have slightly itchy skin and a bit of a rash on my back, can't decide if it's Wegovy or unrelated. Has anyone had a reaction? It's a bit odd if it is Wegovy after 3 weeks on the same dose, hopefully not.

ByCoolMoose · 08/03/2024 11:52

@Coldinhere , unfortunately no hunger decrease either, and the food chatter is still present. I could be one of those who doesn't respond to the lower dose, it seems. I have lost 4 lbs the first week, but it's because I've stuck to a low carb, high protein diet and tried to eat sensible portions, instead my big portions I usually eat. Thanks, I hope you'll get less hunger from the first dose.

Coldinhere · 08/03/2024 12:00

Thanks @Berlioze, good to know re injection. Hope your rash disappears

@ByCoolMoose - I guess the lack of hunger is disappointing, but early days? Well done for sticking to a sensible eating plan, that's the aim anyway I suppose! And 4lb a week is fantastic. 👏🏻 keep us updated.

Dimondsareforever · 08/03/2024 21:48

@Coldinhere i thought the same! Didn’t feel a thing! Wasn’t sure anything happened … wasn’t sure if liquid went in … I did have a fuzzy feeling in my leg a little bit after … so I assume it worked. (Started 2 nights ago).

the last couple of days have gone well. I do feel hungry … ish … but am able to get to the next mealtime without snacking. A few, very mild tummy aches. But I didn’t want my Friday night wine tonight which is most unlike me! So that’s a positive!

how has your first day been?

LadyWithLapdog · 09/03/2024 06:14

Hello old and new people.

I started 3.5 weeks ago. I have no side effects. I’ve lost 4kg and it’s been easy. Just one evening when I felt hungry or wanting to eat. That was a reminder of what I’ll be getting back to, and how difficult it will be after.

I am doing resistance band training and will start some weights (which I used to love doing at home) but that’s the only good habit I implemented, which is a worry as I need to make this sustainable long term. Obviously I eat less, don’t even think about biscuits or chocolate, but I have the prop of the jab now.

Firsttimemama2017 · 09/03/2024 06:37

Hi all, hope you don’t mind me joining in! About to take my first 0.25 dose today 😬 had some success with Saxenda last year and lost about a stone but stopped due to the cost and put about half of it back on! Will be great to have people to share the experience with on here. I didn’t have many side effects on Saxenda so hoping I will be ok with wegovy too!

I managed to get a referral code for Voy so got my first month for £114 - if anyone would like to be referred send me a direct message and I can send you my referral link for 50% off your first month. I will probably go elsewhere after the first month though as they are more expensive than others.

Sammysees · 09/03/2024 12:05

How many calories a day are you eating? I have such a vast amount of weight to lose that I feel pretty overwhelmed.

Radish12 · 09/03/2024 15:09

Hi everyone, just 1lb lost this week and I'm starting to get the food noise again. I'm regretting getting a third 1.0 pen now, I've got one more week of my second 1.0 pen, then four weeks of the third one. I'm trying to look at it positively in that at least it will give me some practice at making good choices and resisting every single pang that I feel... 😕

I did get my first 'notice' from an acquaintance this morning though! "Have you lost weight? Yes a bit. How much? Well, 2st 6. Ooh that's more than a bit!!" so that felt nice.

Hi @Firsttimemama2017, I'm another who was on Saxenda for a bit last year too - I lost about a stone and a half then put about half of that back on, like you. I've found Wegovy as good in terms of effectiveness, while being less harsh than Saxenda in terms of tiredness and nausea. Good luck with it!

Hi @Sammysees - I'm trying to aim for 1200 calories a day, and certainly keep it under 1500. I do need to work on what I'm actually eating though and make it a bit more nutritious!

Stormin · 09/03/2024 17:30

Daren’t tempt fate, but I think it may be starting to work for me 😮😮. Hardly eaten a thing today so made a sausage bap, ate half……full 😁😁😁

Misscloudycat · 10/03/2024 07:39

Hi all, just hopping in with a question. If I buy a 1.0 pen, can i twist it half the way around to make the doses last for 8 weeks and then in effect I would be continuing at 0.5?
Not sure if that makes sense!

Yes. There's lots of people on here who count clicks

Cuzco · 11/03/2024 07:19

Well done Radish, and great news Stormin!

Checking in:

SW: 94.8kg
CW: 90.3kg

Last week was down 1.6kg. I should be really chuffed overall but I feel like it's slow going. I just can't get my head in the right place. The calories I am consuming aren't a great mixture. And what I weigh today is exactly the same as my starting weight when I started to diet in Feb 2021. I got down to 70kg, and then put it all back on, and some. I know everything is different, but then, after five weeks of only calorie controlling and no Wegovy help, I'd lost 6.6kg, which I feel reinforces that I need to find a way to sort my shit out on what I'm consuming.

Oof. Feeling a bit down about it, but perhaps today's the starting point. Sorry for the essay.

Second 0.5 jab tonight.

Achieveanything · 11/03/2024 10:33

@Cuzco
well done! I just wanted to say how much I empathise with how you’re feeling with the slow rate but a loss is a loss and it doesn’t matter how we lost weight before, the circumstances were different and I think my body has completely slowed, in terms of exercise and metabolism but saying that, we’ll get there.

i started my first 1.0mg on Friday evening. Had awful weekend with nausea and tiredness but I feel that it’s really starting to work again, after 4 weeks of poor loss and returning hunger crept in on 0.5mg.

SW 15.6lb
CW 14st
The majority of that was lost in first four weeks on 0.25mg.

feeling optimistic that I’ll finally get under 14 stone mark this week.

good luck!

Toooldforthis36 · 11/03/2024 11:14

Urgh - coming to the end of my 05.mg pen (up to 1.0 tomorrow) and I really did it to myself!

Pigged out on popcorn and choc at cinema yesterday for Mothers DAy treat - feel AWFUL for it today, lesson learned! Coincided with the usual hunger/food thoughts returning at end of dose so very ready to move up, very similar pattern to the end of 0.25mg as well. At least proves it has an effect! Am still down 1st 3lb since 16Jan so happy with that - still a lot to go!

Am really going to try and make sure the reduced amounts I'm eating are good quality stuff going forward...got blood test done for extreme lack of energy (prob hormonal) and all fine with exception of slightly elevated cholesterol - so a bit of a reality check and reminder that have to really fuel my body properly. Onwards!
